      bro is als better than lyra? (i saw lyra got alot presetups for shooters) basicaly you do a game only few tweeking (but the als movement is epic

    I thought i would have to manually remake animations that were working with the UE5 Mannequin so that they would work with metahuman... your video is a godsend and has saved me and countless other people HOURS worth of suffering. Thank you

    Every Metahuman animation II've see, the heads look really weird, like the characters' necks no longer function...and the fact you still need too mess with so much UE4 stuff just feels wrong. I know a lot of people are just driving forward with what they are given, but hopefully they can solve these workflow issues soon to make it a much easier process.

    you can edit the pose in the Retargeter, if you compare the poses, and make them the same (as accurate as you can) you will get better results.

    for the t-pose have you tried "edit pose" in the ik retargeter . you can tweak it per animation or create a profile per character. the animations show the changes made before saving.

    Everything worked up until when I added the body animation tracking in the sequencer, my character doesn't do the animation when I hit play, etc. Any idea what I might have missed?

    Hi, Another Awesome video, thank you, but could you just clarify one thing for me please, at about 2.15 in the video you go to the skeleton, hit in the 'Gear Icon' and select 'Show Retargeting Options' and say we must make sure that, 'root is animation', and 'Pelvis is animation', but everything else needs to be 'skeleton. Then you select 'Spine_01' and then 'Shift' select the asset at the bottom and Right Click and select 'Recursively Set Translation Retargeting Skeleton'. But there are a number of assets that precede 'Spline_01', which are, ik_foot_l, ik_foot_r, ik_hand_root, ik_hand_l and Ik_hand_r and these are showing as 'Animation' as well, which you haven't changed to Skeleton, But you said earlier 'everything else besides root and pelvis need to be a skeleton, why haven't you changed these IK ones. Thank you.

      i dont use ik so i set it to whatever u can make it skeleton also if u want

    What if I need to add animation, from Mixamo, to a scene I have already created? I have Metahumans that need to have animation put to them but I have never done it before and the UE5 program seems to chance every week so tutorials expire in about that time. I am working in UE5.3 and I just made the Metahumans today. I'm not sure what "Retargeting" refers to. Isn't there a way to directly import my animations to the Metahumans I have without using the mannequins? Also, I'm over 50 and I have to teach others.

    at 9:08 when I delete the control rig the body disappears too. cant add it back either

    nice! very informative! I notice you deleted the MH Ctrl rig in sequencer but technically can you use this workflow to tweak existing fbx animations i.e. for your kung fu barista character -say i wanted to hand animate her head movement to tilt more from time to time? Could i do that using the Ctrl rig in sequencer?

    I made clothes for my metahuman w blender, so the torso on my metahuman is the clothes i made. when I rig the metahuman to the ue4 mannequin; the animation works perfectly except that my clothes are not linked to the animations & aren’t moving with my metahuman. What’s the fix for this? Thank you

    Why is the IK_metahuman by default f_med_nrw_body? Am i able to change it to male? Does it matter? My metahuman is animated but it looks all wonky and condensed and I wondered if it it was because it was set to a female body instead of male

    This is great, the last tips (r.RayTracing.NormalBias 1) had drive me bonkers for the last 2 weeks on the raytracing shadows for the City Sample Crowds. Thank you, looking forward to your future paid release tutorial.
