It's great to hear the show was a love feast, to me it is still magical and I would never have guessed Alfonso almost didn't play Carlton. I cannot imagine anyone else. Talk about chemistry and comedic sensibility. I still enjoy the reruns on occasion.

One thing I noticed when Will & Janet talked during the reunion was that Janet was trying to put ALL of her life’s misfortunes (Losing her House, entire career, etc) on Will and his comments, which of course was unfair. @SEQUAJ NI I remember a while back of someone who worked on the set of Fresh Prince that said she was difficult to work with. Even James said in a politically correct way that she was tough to work with. He said she came from a serious acting background with plays on Broadway and here was some kid rapper that never acted before who was the central character on the show. He said she felt some way about that. Will said on a radio interview shortly after she was fired that she used to run and tell the Executives of the show all the things he used to do on set, like play loud music and tell mama jokes. If I was Will I wouldn't have wanted to work with someone like that and if I was the other cast members I wouldn't want to work with someone that was jeopardizing our success.

This show is so nostalgic and I always hate hearing that there was trouble on the set or people have fallen out with each other. I feel like that’s always the case (other then Friends). Watching these sort of clips kinda make me sad. I understand what Alfonso and the other actors are saying, they were like a family and it must be so annoying to have someone like her there. I mean I can understand when it’s just 2 people not liking wacht other. But this is several cast members all saying that she was difficult to work with and wanted more attention. Will has definitely been the bigger person and ended this long standing feud, but god it must have been awkward.

What Alfonso did in this video is no more unprofessional than what Janet Hubert did on the set. Alfonso was basically speaking his mind and telling what had happened. To that end, he's not really doing anything wrong. You don't have to agree with it though. By all accounts, if not just a good solid number, Janet was a pain to work with. One thing I noticed when Will & Janet talked during the reunion was that Janet was trying to put ALL of her life’s misfortunes (Losing her House, entire career, etc) on Will and his comments, which of course was unfair. He handled it very gracefully though, probably just to end the controversy so they could make up.
She also said she was blackballed however her career was steady(working at minimum one job a year) afterwards and without the show she might not even have had that.
FACTS.. Will is on a "Jesus" type healing journey... He wanted to take all the blame and let her blast him on public tv so he could free her.. That's how generous he is.. ALL the cast members disliked Janet.. there's a reason for that.. No single individual can ruin your career..

Even James said in a politically correct way that she was tough to work with. He said she came from a serious acting background with plays on Broadway and here was some kid rapper that never acted before who was the central character on the show. He said she felt some way about that. Will said on a radio interview shortly after she was fired that she used to run and tell the Executives of the show all the things he used to do on set, like play loud music and tell mama jokes. If I was Will I wouldn't have wanted to work with someone like that and if I was the other cast members I wouldn't want to work with someone that was jeopardizing our success.

This show is so nostalgic and I always hate hearing that there was trouble on the set or people have fallen out with each other. I feel like that’s always the case (other then Friends). Watching these sort of clips kinda make me sad. I understand what Alfonso and the other actors are saying, they were like a family and it must be so annoying to have someone like her there. I mean I can understand when it’s just 2 people not liking wacht other. But this is several cast members all saying that she was difficult to work with and wanted more attention. Actually, Will Smith was getting more and more power as the seasons went on. And started going to producers to have her character changed. Because she was funny and she was a favorite. Outside of Will, aunt Viv was funny. She was sassy, witty, etc. Will wanted to change her, and she didn't wanna do it. So, she got frustrated over time and went off on Will. No one else. But Will was the power so the rest of the cast turned on her. She got canned and the character the second aunt viv played, was the one Will Smith wanted the first Aunt Viv to play. Truth. And if you noticed, the show got goofier once she left. Because all of the other characters were written to be funnier.

First of all, if you listen to the clip, she started becoming really difficult in Season 2. She didn't get pregnant until Season 3. What Alfonso did in this video is no more unprofessional than what Janet Hubert did on the set. Alfonso was basically speaking his mind and telling what had happened. To that end, he's not really doing anything wrong. You don't have to agree with it though. By all accounts, if not just a good solid number, Janet was a pain to work with. It seemed to many that she was very egotistical and, at the risk of sounding politically incorrect, batshit crazy.
