  • The video is an edited selection of an hour-and-a-half role-play session of Open Dialogue.
The most representative scenes have been chosen for its publication to transmit how a dialogic meeting develops fluidly and realistically.
The actors are professional therapists who improvise using a real case from their experience as a guide.
Open Dialogue is an approach to treating people with severe psychological distress, developed in the 1990s at the Keropudas hospital in Finland.
It is more a way of thinking and working in psychiatric contexts than a defined method.
It is based on 7 principles: (1) Immediate help; (2) A social network perspective; (3) Flexibility and mobility; (4) Responsibility; (5) Psychological continuity; (6) Tolerance of uncertainty; and (7) Dialogue and polyphony.
