- My LG Dryer quit heating. Found thermostat to be blown. In this video, I show you the dryer high limit thermostat and its location. Make sure the power is off and unplugged before any repair work! Do not attempt this if you're uncomfortable doing repair work.
Dryer High Limit Thermostat Part # 6931EL3003D
Thanks for your video. All the others I found had me tearing the drying down to get the drum out. Your solution was much easier. Found the part locally for less than $11.00.
Like other ppl mentioned, other videos show complete breakdown of dryer.. this is a much more practical way to replace. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. You saved me so much time. I was about to disassemble my drier to get to the thermostat.
How do you know if it's thermostat or thermal fuse?
Thank God and your vídeo I was able to fix my driyer to day... blessins..Thanks..
@Exchanging Knowledge
Great video! Thanks so much
I’m in the middle of this right now, have both of the screws on the thermostat out and the lower one out on the fuse but can’t manage to get the upper fuse screw out. What kind of screwdriver / angle did you use? The bottom of the drum is keeping me from getting a straight approach with the screwdriver
The screws are very short and hard to get out, especially the top one. My husband has been working for over an hour now and keeps dropping those tiny screws. It would be nice if we knew if you used a special type of screwdriver or another hint of how to get this in and out. Still not finished, it’s hard to work with one hand in such a small area and the part being so hard to access with the drum in the way.
Hi, you can use a stubby screw driver and at the same time use your pinky finger to hold the screw against the driver to keep it from falling off. Hope that helps.
Oh, on my LG model DLG7201WE gas dryer the thermal overload switch keeps clicking off. I cleared the dryer vent hose and put a new hood on the outside and got rid of a 4 foot aluminum vent that went down through an existing outside deck that was clogged, the dryer keeps kicking off …I can’t get a service man to come until after Christmas today is December 11. What if I just bypass the shut off switch and tape the two leads together?
It's not a good idea to do what you're suggesting. You might burn down your house! This video is to help you replace that exact blown thermostat/cutoff fuse only. You can try to replace both of the thermal cutoffs (usually, both are sitting next to each other), but if you're not comfortable to safely replace both thermal cutoffs, then you should wait for the experts to repair your dryer. The main reason for the thermal cutoff to blow or trip is usually due to a clogged exhaust pipe. Make sure that it is completely clear of lint from end to end, and nothing in the middle. The exhaust line should be free-flowing, and make sure the vent flap isn't stuck. Good Luck and work safely.
I changed it and still not working. Any ideas?
Is this only for electric dryers? I have gas dryer...I replaced thermistor to no solution...i have dlg2302r...any tips? Anyone?
I just brought the whole kit for 80 problem fix its easy
Did u have to solder anything?
Everyone can stop watching after 1:11.
Why?

Is there a reset button in this edition ? I have the same one and it's not giving heat
scone27 No, there's no reset button. If you have a multimeter, ohmmeter, etc., You can check it to see if it's open or not.
@@exchangingknowledge I have the exact same as this one. Don't is what a multimeter is tho lol
I saw it another video claiming that you can reset this by banging it against something hard. I'm going to try this. Has anyone else tried this and had it work after?
Gen1:29 That is not resetting, but hacking instead. Don't risk burning down your house to save a few bucks.....
scone27 Time to call in a pro. LOL
I tried resetting to no avail. I ordered a new one this morning. $12 + $10 for 2 day shipping on repair clinic.com.
Hi there, did you just remove the bottom hose or did you disassemble the entire dryer?
So, are both of those things you or the camera on thermostats?
One is the operating thermostat and one is the high limit thermostat
@@aaronrice1304 which one would go bad first? I have the exact same one.
