-Knife is Sold now - Sorry about the late night rambling but I just wanted to get this video made before I shipped the knife off to it's new owner! I try to address all of my final issues and thoughts on the knife here. If you guys have anything you want to know that I missed just leave it in the comments below! Still a good knife and I think and excellent value for M390 steel, just not working for me at this time in life. Rock on guys and thanks for watching!

I really don't understand how new screws fixed the issue when it was scales that stripped. Were the new screws a larger size?

Hey Paddy yeah, this experience has turned me back off them to be honest. However, I'm not sure what your knife laws are where you are at but the Spyderco Urban has become one of my most favorite knives. It seems small at first but fills the hand and cuts like a full size knife, even more so than the UKPK. I dont know what it is but the Urbans are awesome and affordable. If you can have locking knives, then hey, same bazillion options we have too. haha! Rock on!

Ranger Jon Outdoors so you would pick the spyderco urban over the ukpk? I can't decide which to get. Thanks in advance man!!!

It fully confirms my synopsis of Kershaw.
And I will just leave it at that.

How is the edge retention? I have one in M390 that would kinda whittle a hair...it was difficult. But I cut a tag off my shirt and it wouldn't even shave the hair off my arm. Now I do notice that mine bites into wood at a lesser degree on one side vs the other so I believe my knife has different degrees on the edge. But I still wonder how it could full so quickly. Any thoughts?

Hey Frank I never tested the edge retention on this knife before I got rid of it. Jay at The Knife Beater channel has a video testing edge retention tho! My theory was that for $75 how good could kershaws heat treat of m390 really be? Ya know what I mean? I hear some folks get great edge retention and others get terrible so maybe they use cheap m390 or are just very inconsistent? Who knows. I try not to ever speculate. Rock on!

hey, just now saw your vid series on the dividend (only 1.5 yrs later). great info. you probably already sold this knife, but in case you decide to get another one in the future and kershaw doesn't incorporate your suggestions, to get around that problem with sharpening at the base of the blade, you might think about making your own choil? doing so would allow you to choke up when needed (i think you mentioned this in the 2nd video) as well as moving the end of the blade away from the handle which would allow you to sharpen the blade from end to end without damage to the handle. if creating a finger choil would not look good on this knife, may be just increase the current choil to give the needed clearance. since you've probably already thought of that, i'd be curious to know what made you not decide to do that?
