  • OH YES! It's finally here. A full day wear test and unvarnished review of the new RMS Beauty "Un-Cover Up" Cream Foundation. I was not sent this product by the company; I bought it with my own $52 dang dollars, and this is an unsponsored and honest review of how this pricey and hotly anticipated foundation performed for me.

Just putting this here in case it helps you. I have had gut problems all my life, too. I got frustrated with being dismissed by every gastroenterologist I saw and decided to find a Functional Medicine practitioner. They are MDs, but operate out of a private practice and do more tests and prescribe supplements, diet changes and sometimes pharmaceuticals when all else fails. I’ve finally figured out I had moderate gut dysbiosis and SIBO that we’re causing severe vitamin deficiencies and hormone imbalances. It’s been a long road to correcting it, and it is pricey, but it changed my life. Take care and good luck!

I figured this foundation would be KO’d by the Texas sun, based on the ingredients. I was excited to hear about this foundation. But I’m in Dallas and a combo-oily girl, so I knew it wasn’t worth $52 for me....
I’m curious- would this foundation work well for people with super dry skin who lives in a much colder/drier climate, like Canada or Montana in November? This needs to be tested for *SCIENCE*

For winter specifically, up here in the dry ace snow wind, add my hella dry skin, no finish powder, sunscreen as primer.......it works really well.
BUT, any.time.of.the.year. back in Phx, this absolutely woulda been a noooooo go. ESPECIALLY for anyone in the food and beverage industry working outside at all.

You are so helpful! I had a feeling this would turn out to be just like un-cover up, but wouldn’t it have been great if it weren’t? Wouldn’t it have been great if suddenly RMS abandoned their coconut oil base? Here’s what I’m looking for in a foundation: something natural and NON-COMEDOGENIC. Ingredient-wise that means no coconut oil, no capric/caprilyc triglycerides, and no dimethicone. My current contenders are Zuzu Luxe, Hush + Dotti, and 100% Pure. You tried ZL, I’ve tried H+D samples, and I’m sort of ready to give up and go back to Giorgio Armani... Gosh that man loves his silicones....

I have a bunch of chronic illnesses and have had so many doctors not take me seriously in the past. I am so sorry you’re dealing with that. I know that it’s incredibly discouraging to be told that your health basically does not matter.
I got fed up and just started telling them what I wanted done. With IBD, you’ll need both an endoscopy and a Colonoscopy. Walk in there and tell them your family has a history of gastrointestinal problems and you want to get tested to see if you do, too.
They would most likely test your blood for the gluten intolerance, not ask you to eat it. And they wouldn’t tell you to cut out coffee if you’re drinking it and it doesn’t cause flare ups. They’ll most likely want you to pay attention to which foods cause the most discomfort and avoid those.
This is coming from someone who has IBS and GERD, who’s mom has IBD and IBS, and who’s fiancé has Crohn’s. Apathetic doctors are discouraging but be the spokesperson your health needs! I wish you the best of luck with your health!! 😊

I hate that your GI's are terrible.. After years, I ~finally~ went and had both of the 'scopies (why I was under anesthesia last time you DM'd me about that Q&A.. which btw you ended up answering even though I didn't know how to ask what I was trying to ask) because I have very similar issues with pain/digestion. My primary care physician was actually able to do a blood panel to check for celiac/gluten intolerance, it doesn't have to be a GI which I didn't previously know. If you do go have the procedure, I can attest that the prep is the worst part and there's no down time whatsoever. It honestly helped me so much just to rule out things that *could* have been going on that I was worrying myself to death over. I hope you find some relief soon girlfriend! Also, your hair looks suuuper pretty. Anyway, thanks for this review because you saved me $52 :)

For a $52 foundation, I want something that applies evenly to my whole face, even the dry flaky patches, without leaving concentrated color spots there. I want it to stay put without transferring onto my kids when I snuggle them- but also not to feel dry or crease too noticeably. It has to be clean and sunscreen is a plus. I'm currently using supergoop cc but I mix it with the city sunscreen serum to thin it out a bit so it isn't so heavy and cakey on my face.

Hello there! Love your videos! I had a question. I mainly use makeup under my eyes for concealing and a little around the nose and that’s pretty much it. I adore the uncover up. It’s formula, the finish, the color. The only thing is that I do have very dark circles and sometimes it’s coverage isn’t enough. Do you think the uncover up foundation could be used as a concealer? I’ve had experiences with foundations looking great on the skin but horrible under the eyes. Do you think the texture would be good enough to melt in that area of the face?

Thank you for reviewing the RMS uncover up. I have to highly recommend High Potency Probotic or VSL. I get mine at the Costco pharmacy. Also Slippery Elm is so great for IBS symptoms. My doctor was sure I had Crohn's after my son was born. Prayer and these supplements took care of my symptoms. I also have eliminate a lot of inflammatory foods, but I had done that before those symptoms started.

Oi I wish I watched this before I bought it (on sale for $42)!! But hopefully it will work because my skin is dry as shittt this winter. I actually mix the RMS uncover up with the Kjaer Weis (which is soooo dry on me) foundation to get a good oily-dry balance, and that works really well on my combo acne (both oily AND dry) skin. I just want something with really good coverage, natural dewy finish that doesn’t emphasize texture/pores and doesn’t crease or separate on the skin. The search continues 😔

Hello! I'm a new subscriber and I come from Italy! I hope you're fine and safe! I've been stuck in my house for about two months now and I'm feeling quite stressful :/ However I always struggle finding clean product here in Italy as a matter of fact I bought Rms concealer on an English website and I fell in love with it but it's SO expensive for 5,5 gr... that's why I've decided to buy this one on an Italian website hoping that it's good for my skin type.. I wish I could try on Ilia beauty or Glossier, or many many other clean brands but they're unavailable ! Virtual hugs from Naples

Have you ever considered lupus? I got diagnosed about 4 years ago annnnnd it sucks, but you can deal. I was celiac for most of my life, diagnosed, and when I got pregnant with my 5 year old I craved pizza so bad that I was like whatever I'm taking a bite I'll be sick and deal with it, I'm pregnant all I do is puke all day anyway lol. Well I didn't get sick and I kept trying gluten and not getting sick from it and eventually my dr said he doesn't know why it went away but that pregnancy is fucked on your body and then a year later was diagnosed with lupus. Hooray! I hope you figure out what's wrong love!

I don’t like rms Un cover up concealer either bc it’s crease city. That looks beautiful on you! That sucks but I saw it coming. I don’t even use their blushes bc they don’t last on my cheeks. Cheek2smiles or whatever. Also, my rms living luminizer quad with 4 colors are very very emollient.i have 2 and both are almost tacky in texture without warming up.

And I wore it for a week and I started getting some really hard bumps... and I felt like I was wearing a really heavy foundation even though I really didn’t put on a lot! I haven’t had trouble with their un coverup but this is just different.. do you think it’s the foundation that’s breaking me out?

I just recently tossed my RMS luminizer/highlighter pots. I held them in my hand, deciding their fate and I just went for it. Tossed. And it was bc of what you said here. They ticked me off bc they weren’t cheap and they were just not fun to put on my face. I don’t want to work that hard to like something! The market is getting competitive in this clean beauty field. Step up or get tossed.

LisaD GingerSnaps I just mean because if you only do a couple weeks, then it isn’t enough damage, so they won’t diagnose you even if you do have CD! So it is better to eat it for longer term. I had to have multiple endoscopies because they told me eating it for a week would be enough time, which gave a false negative 🙄 such an annoying process

Price is not an issue for me. If a product wears well on my skin or on an influencer's that has similar skin type and she can tell me why it wears well or not well concretely without using opinion or emphasizing cost at every turn, I'm good. I prefer an influencer to focus on the quality of products instead of cost because I can read tbe price and I know my bank account to determine the cost effectiveness of a product with respect to what I am willing to pay. That's why I tend to watch older reviewers because they tend to assume their views can figure this out. Younger influencers tend to want to tell you the cost ad nauseam and not as much detailed on the qualities of products. Just saying.

For $52 per ounce, that foundation better correct my wrinkles, make my skin radiantly beautiful and do my damned taxes. So meh on the foundation - you're having a great hair day! I'm on a strict budget and tend towards Pacifica, Physician's Formula Organic, ZuZu Luxe, Honest Beauty, and DIY products. I would LOVE to see left-side vs right-side trials of luxury vs budget makeup. Drunk Elephant vs The Ordinary marula oil, Ilia TrueSkin Serum vs. Pacifica Alight Clean Foundation, etc. Tati calls them "dupetorials," and I love them; but, Tati uses mostly products that I won't use. I'm hoping that you will fill this important 'ecological niche' in the CZcams beauty vlog jungle.
