Hi Liam, those animals you thought were chipmunks are actually Marmots. There are loads of them in the dolomites. The WW1 tunnels and paths are amazing you can do Via Ferrata climbs but you need the proper kit to be safe.
These videos continue to be a giant motivation for me. You're easily my favorite hiking and travel youtuber. As a Canadian that's moving to Scotland in 6 months, I can't wait to see some of the places you've showed us. Maybe one day you'll end up in Canada, in newfoundland, Alberta or BC and i can see the beautiful places of my home country through your experience. Safe travels!
From a Brit, BC is absolutely stunning!! Unfortunately I've "only" been twice (I appreciate that's more than most) and the first time I was slightly too young to appreciate it and the 2nd time when we were due to go out to the mountains we got stranded in Vancouver by wildfires - if you remember the 2017 ones. And then just as it looked like I'd be living there for 4 months for a semester abroad with Uni, COVID hit! Hoping to go back in a few years and spend 2 or 3 weeks exploring the coast and mountains.

@@Demondoink1 hey there! Our timeline has been delayed a little bit until about April 2024 but we're looking at towns around Edinburgh with Stirling being high on my list. I apply for my ancestry visa in January. I work in healthcare currently, being in group homes with dual diagnosis clients and I'll likely start applying for similar work there as soon as the visa is approved.
@@jonnymurgatroyd856 Ah cool. I lived in Edinburgh for over four years, and my friend is looking to move to Stirling just now as well. It's a very good place for commuting to Glasgow/Edinburgh etc, but still seems to have a lot going on (though I don't know it that well tbh).
I just moved to Inverness, which is a bit further North, but I can work from home so it doesn't matter for me about commuting haha.
I'd say that Stirling is a good choice. It's a little expensive in terms of property prices compared to other places in Scotland, but if you are coming from Canada, then that's probably not a huge problem haha.

I'm really curious if you ever get afraid when you're on adventures like this? Not of anything in particular but just the enormity of nature and how vulnerable sometimes we can really be. You always seem so positive, it really is a great characteristic and it's inspiring to see. Keep up the great content mate 👍

I watch all your videos, but this must be my favourite one so far, maybe because I've spent some time in the Dolomites myself many years ago and I miss it very much. The scenery is stunning and that final campsite you showed us was certainly the most spectacularly beautiful spots I've ever seen you camp at. This is such an inspiration for me to do more hikes and I can't thank you enough for it.

Wow, absolutely stunning! Those mountains and lakes remind me of the Norwegian fjords. Incredible what the minerals in the ice do to the colour of the water at the bottom.
Stunning scenery. I couldn't believe the colour of that lake at the start of the walk. After watching you having a beer and then having difficulty on the descent I thought you were going to literally leave us with a cliffhanger before uploading part 2! Top job Liam.

Yes yes yes yes. I have been waiting for this moment!! I've been longing for some alps backpacking content, although the dolomites are more south-east, it's still my favourite type of scenery. So excited for part 2!!

I've got many happy memories backpacking through the Dolomites in the late 80s. Those chipmunks are marmots.. :). Lookout for waterfalls during the hot day and stand underneath the to cool down! You will soon dry off

Hi Liam. Pam here, big fan of your channel all the way from Perth Western Australia. The hubby and I have just watched this video and I’ve told him all about you so we’re having a Liam Brown marathon. Just watched you in the Yorkshire dales and now Snowdonia. It’s all so beautiful. I was born in Manchester and came over as an 8 year old in 1969 and my hubby is from Leicester and came over in 1981. We were coming back to see family in 2021, we even had the tickets, then covid hit so had to cancel the whole thing. We were going to the Lake District and HEARTBEAT country in Yorkshire. Oh well maybe one day we’ll get back again. Your parents must be very proud of you doing what you do, seeing the world is to me “REAL LIVING” and we should all do it. You absolutely have to go to the USA and tour their national parks, particular western America. You could easily spend a couple of months there are upload a video per park, giving your in depth thoughts on each one. I would love to see it.

I included Venice in my backpacking holiday this year, I got there late at night and the main road to the island has been closed due to a bus fire! Those alleyways at night with hardly anyone around was a mental first experience
