I remember playing with Pokemon and Yugioh cards as a kid, but it was always casually among friends. I felt like too many older kids were playing too efficiently at the card shops and it dissuaded me from doing tournaments and stuff. Kept it casual and fun. Then the WoW TCG drops and I, as someone who played WoW (eventually for over a decade), got really excited. Finally: a chance to get into a new TCG competitively at ground-level with subject matter I already vibe with.
I bought some cards and built a deck in 2006. I convinced a few friends to learn enough to practice with but no one was interested enough to also sign up for a tourney. Local card store finally held a "series release" tournament for the game and I signed up. On the day of I showed up and saw no one sitting at the card tables. There was just a Warhammer 40k game and miniature painting going on in the back. I asked the store owner what's up with the tournament and he says "You're the only one who showed up.". "So what now?" I ask. He shrugs and walks into the back to play Warhammer.
Heartbreaking. Seemed like a cool game.

I was at one of the WoW TCG release events at my local card shop at the time, I won a bunch of locals, and I even managed to top 8 a regional I went to. Me and some of my friends were always coming up with crazy deck ideas too. Me and a few others were one of the first people to experiment with a deck that ran a good bit of Equipment cards (keep in mind this was only during the time when I think the 3rd set was out) with a goal of beefing up the SHIT out of your Hero with Equipment and between all the effects of the equipment you'd be able to launch basically an OTK around turn 5 or 6. It was one of the first true "OTK" decks because most of the damage was done in a single attack after 4-5 turns of prep. There was hardly any non-Ally removal cards then, too, and the few that did exist were not seen in competitive play. I have a lot of fond memories of the WoW TCG (even though I've never played actual WoW lmao) too bad the game died out as fast and hard as it did.

Hey there, I'm a bit late to see your video but I'm a big fan of WoW TCG, I've been playing(and still am to this day in 2023) since the beginning in 2006! I've got a massive collection all sorted into binders with sleeve pages. I also built 17 different decks over the years and I'd say rather recently, (6 months or so ago) I showed the game to two of my friends from work and we've been playing some games almost every weekends ever since. It's that much fun. The way I organize my decks is into those long "Epic Collection" boxes, it came with class spacers so it's really convenient to find and label decks. Also, you've showed us your Shaman deck but, you didn't include your hero in the deck box? ^^;
The first thing I show when presenting a new deck to friends is the hero, what spec it is and what's it's flip effect. Anyways. I've got all the raids and dungeons as well, they're a blast to play! =)
One thing you didn't mention is about WoW TCG's current state -- I mean, yes, it's discontinued by Blizzard Entertainment and Cryptozoic.... But Some fans called WoW TCG Reborn took the reign in 2021! They released two sets(8th block!) and one new raid! I printed the two sets completely and it's refreshing to play with new allies, abilities and even a new class: Monk! I still need to print the new raid: Siege of Orgrimmar, but I'll do it soon.
Anyways, I hope you still play and got some new cards since that video! =)

hey, sorry to ask you this random question but you seem to be an old time wowtcg player (and youtube user) and that's kind of hard to find these days, I wanted to know if way back in the day, 2008/2009 or so probably, you ever saw a video of a tcg item collection demo with a female night elf going around stormwind showcasing a bunch of noncombat tcg items/pets while there's this carnival/circusy song playing in the background, then towards the end jolly roger's lagoon from banjo + kazooie starts playing, she hearths to shattrath, and flies away on an x-51 nether rocket, very specific I know but this video is now lost I believe, but may be able to be restored with a url of someone who watched it, I've been looking for this vid for forever (15 years approximately) and any help would be appreciated, thank you

does anyone remember seeing a really old TCG item demo/collection video (probably 2008~ in the TBC days) with a female night elf going around stormwind showcasing an ingame tcg item collection with this really carnival/circusy sounding song playing in the background, then towards the end she hearths to shattrath and rides around on an x-51 nether rocket with jolly roger's lagoon, a song from banjo-kazooie, playing in the background, I've been looking for this vid/song for forever and was wondering if anyone else saw it, or even has a link to it saved in their youtube history, it has been deleted/privated now, but i think could be restored if someone still had a link lying around

How well do the Misc. Decks play against the Raid decks? Are the raids beatable with those unoptimized decks or is it rather tedious?
