I've been bad at responding to comments for anyone who has any questions, so I'll try my best to get to you guys. Keep in mind though that I'm no Tekken master, in fact I'm a scrub at this game, so I will have limited knowledge about certain things. I'm just here to try to add to the wealth of Tekken knowledge for pad users (DS4/Dualsense specifically).
this was actually really helpful. i’ve never learned something so quick from a single video. i’m still trying to find my way out of the weird head stage, but i’m still happy to have at least got the inputs down.
I'm glad I found this vid! thank you so much for the amount of effort that you put into showing us how to do it. definitely the best kbd toturial i've watched
30 minutes into practicing this and one thing that greatly increased my consistency was making sure that I pressed down back(on PS5 pad) together, and then of course, release them and hit back like he's saying but be sure to press them together. You will get the extra back just as he says. I can absolutely tell that this is going to take hella time and patience like you're saying. I was able to get a string of down back, backs together without the head bobbing. Without the first part, none of this works, so until the first part is absolute muscle memory, none of this is going to work and definitely not in battle. Thank you so much for this video. I'm at a point where I absolutely see how powerful this can be in my gameplay(im Ryujin blue rank level). So I'm going to spend the next two weeks not playing the game and simply working at this. Thanks again!
This is the best backdash explanation for controller-players on youtube! I passed the 80% hurdle today. Im playing bass. So thank you for this rhythm and guitar comparisons, cause it clearly helped me out, to understood the principe faster.
Excellent tutorial I’ve been playing Tekken since 5 and could never figure out the input method of backdashing I’ll definitely work on 2P side it looks more difficult. Thanks!
Thx so much man! I was wondering why I was doing it wrong! Turns out I was doing down instead of d/b ! And after using your method...in just 2 hours I can now do 2 in a row! I’ve still got a lot to learn but I can actually do the Korean back dash now!
Thanks a lot man, very apreciated. For the first time im doing kbd in the good way. Best tutorial ever !!! I started to think that was impossible for me ... now i just have to train harder to make it faster.
This is the best KBD guide on CZcams. I main Nina (sway character) who needs KBD , i mastered her everything except KBD and wanted to switch to arcade stick for this shit ... You motivated me to stay on pad because KBD is possible on pad... Thanks for the video ❤️
Thank you for making this tutorial. Best one and I only play on pad like you do. I'ma Akuma main and moving is definitely my weakness along with combos but moving is so hard.
Thank you for making this much easier, I finally got the hang of it and it helped me so much in ranks thank you. I’ve also gotten faster with it anyway thank you again for making this video and for explaining how to do it
Hey dude .. I finally found the sequence for the backdash since 4 days ago when I watched this video Is to just to polish it and make it like second nature Thanks for the video 💪 Edit : its 9 months now and i finally master this technique ... 👏 Though on the left side..need to do it on the right side now .. i am doing it but have times where my inputs are wrong and the consistency is not there edit: 10 months later finally got it on the right side now didnt think id master this technique in the first place... i even nail it down on my weaker side as well as a matter of fact, im doing it better on my right side practise and stubborness makes perfect
Very helpful thank you so much,a lot of CZcamsr just say,Just hit b,db,d repeatedly which is so un-detailed they are so lazy. You deserve a sub and a like
Instead of the 16 second video "tutorials" pasted all over CZcams with no explanation and 16 seconds of someone's hands mashing a pad, you actually explained what was going on, and why. This included even the weird variants from either going too fast or too slow with the input. Thank you for doing this.
Thanks so much for the great tutorial & mentioning that headbobbing when the input is too fast/without rhythm. Ive been wondering what I've been doing wrong for almost a week now.
Basic backdash is still a good Tool if you know how to use it kbd is helpful but not really necessary I went all the way up to raijin without kbd or wave dash or instant wr moves
This is so much better than how my friend taught me how to play Tekken. Which was to just kick my ass over and over again until I started to pick a few things up. lol
bro i was training since 2hour and discovered alone that u need cancel at the crouch moment, then i found ur video, so clean guide by the way, force to you ! i just need work the speed, urs looks so clean xD
15:12 "i just got used to the game that asks so much for so little" haha ouch, that's kinda harsh (but I've heard the same criticism from others :P). anyway, nearly 2 years later, you're still helping new players such as myself with a great, no-nonsense tutorial. Cheers!
Great tutorial, im trash but I now sometimes get the motion right a few times in a row (not the first time thought wich is the most important) but I guess is a matter of time and practice.
Been a huge fan of Tekken since the first game and KBD has always stonewalled me from upping my skill level. I’m currently on day 7 of practicing this tutorial and still cannot do more than a double backdash at most. I’ve tried Speedkick’s methodology previously and no dice. I’ve tried every “trick” I could find. Time to face facts and give up Tekken altogether, which is sad because I really love the game, and have for decades now, other than this artificially difficult skill you have to learn just to move backwards. This isn’t to say that the video is bad or it doesn’t work. I fully accept it’s all me, and it’s too to see it has worked for others.
You actually dont need more than 2-3 kbd if your able to do 2-3 you will be just fine because you will be able to whiff punish and thats mainly what you need. More kbd will come naturally so dont worry too much about it, and dont give up on this great game.
I also noticed that there is another way for KBD. BBDBDBDBDBDB.....with a certain rhythm. The character moves the same but command history shows b-d-db-b...... It is a bit easier but theoretically slower. You can try if dont mind.
awesome vid, helped alot... setting the Ai on stand and approach would be good on practice to avoid resetting everytime you're at the end of the screen
I never knew that when you release DB it automatically takes back input 😂😂😂 now i am gonna master the shit out of this trick....thanks a lot good friend...
A very helpful video man and thank you for your help for this community. I play Tekken since tekken 2 but I was always too lazy to learn the korean backdash so I always hit backdash and than after that I cancel with a SS down. Anyway, my question to you is, what method for the KBD would you recommend? Do you recommend the method with the TIP of your thumb? Or rather the method with the BOTTOM of your thumb. I ask, because I'm learning it now and I realize that I pressure the tip of the thumb and it starts to feel uncomfortable. Is that normal at the beginning? And was it the same for you as you learned it? Just feel free to explain it how you mastered it :). Thank you in advance!
Incognito I was doing exactly the same thing (backdash into ss left) and now after 1 hour practice thanks to this video I can do 3 clean Korean backdashes in a row (but not more at this point)
@@Xaxan6523 we could probably have an hour long debate on the "necessity" of the difficulty of various things in tekken, but I'm of the opinion that it shouldn't be this difficult to just back away from your opponent. TMM had a video where I thought he made a good point - basically that knowing "when" to backdash is already difficult and takes a lot of skill to do it effectively, so knowing "how" to back dash doesn't need to be this hard.
I've been bad at responding to comments for anyone who has any questions, so I'll try my best to get to you guys. You're a tekken God to me bro 👌
your the fucking goat thank you
Did you switch to dualsence?
"im making this tutorial for a friend of mine who just got tekken 7"
you're a good friend man.
This guy is really the best teacher ever seen in Tekken's history.
Seriously kind words man thank you!
@@zwerble_ it is the truth, you taught most of the casual crowd, a majority, how to execute this technique. Thank you
Seriously though, movement in tekken is more important than anything.
This is the best method by far i had no idea theres a rolling method this video should have over 1k likes
Done
this was actually really helpful. i’ve never learned something so quick from a single video. i’m still trying to find my way out of the weird head stage, but i’m still happy to have at least got the inputs down.
Bro! You are the best at teaching this. Hands down.....I was able to get the rhythm immediately once you explained. Thanks for teaching us!
This is the best kbd tutorial on a pad ever, I’ve always had trouble with the move but after watching this vid my kbd has improved way more. Thanks
this is hands down the best korean backdash tutorial i've seen on youtube
This is probably the best tutorial for KBD I've ever seen. Thanks!
This is literally the best KBD tutorial vid on CZcams thanks a lot my dude
I'm glad I found this vid! thank you so much for the amount of effort that you put into showing us how to do it. definitely the best kbd toturial i've watched

This tutorial is objectively better than the ones posted by dedicated tekken tutorial channel. That’s pretty amazing

Bro u are the best some players who really need to learn back dash should see this method thank you so much
Just gotta say this is the first vid that has made me feel like I actually understand what KBD is and how to theoretically do it. Great job, thanks!

Literally the best video on this. Thank you bro 🙏🏽
Thanks man this helped a lot I found it easier to do it on p2 side but it's really simple with ur method 👍
this is the best tutorial of back dash iv seen. thank you for this helpful video ..

Thanks so much for the great tutorial & mentioning that headbobbing when the input is too fast/without rhythm. Ive been wondering what I've been doing wrong for almost a week now.
My backdash has been so basic to many years, i decided to try master this, great technique man
Basic backdash is still a good Tool if you know how to use it kbd is helpful but not really necessary I went all the way up to raijin without kbd or wave dash or instant wr moves
This tutorial is perfect, I learned the back dash in 3 days
This guy is the definition of teaching mastery! Great job!
The first time I've seen a dpad kbd tutorial. Very nice.
I sent this video to my Tekken homies; I bought a stick to do this, because I didn't even think I could on d-pad. Thank you very much for this!
I think all of us who watched this is a beginner. Thanks this is really helpful. Also it's fine to make longer videos as long as it's fully detailed.
Ithink he was worried about the videos size not so much that he couldn’t do it
Best and clearest kbd tutorial!!!
you just killed my last reason to keep the fighting stick :D thank you : )
2nd video i watched trying to learn it, 5 minutes later got it consistently both sides with byran / paul, key is to watch the thumb, thank you!
I thought getting the second back on release was an arcade stick qwerk. This really helped thanks
Just want to thank you. I finally master this technique
Best backdash video on CZcams!!!!!!!!! My backdash from left side is nice. Today im learn from right side
I just figured out the rolling method the other day, and it works so perfect
Tyy this was a great vid. No joke. Best turorial on yt about this
Excellent video, thanks for sharing and you should put out regular tutorials, teaching method and fundamentals are legit!
This is the most 'big brother' video I've seen.
Lol true
How did i give it away? lol
I’m not even a beginner but this definitely helped me figure out how to master it
This is so much better than how my friend taught me how to play Tekken. Which was to just kick my ass over and over again until I started to pick a few things up. lol
Well after the basic Boot Camp things thats the only way to do it
ik it's 3 years late but I just started learning backsway characters and this is really helpful bc i keep doing b/d/db instead of b/db ty
I definitely need to learn KDB, the video is very helpful.
Bro!! Cheers this is quality instructions
I would say this video's is underated but thnk you so much for making this you explained it perfectly bro keep making videos
Just got this in my recommended. This video deserves every view it‘s getting.
This was so helpful, thankyou so much

Thanks a lot man.
I’ll practice this everyday.
Thank you so much form Italy! I appreciate a lot!
Thank you for this video very clear and well explained
Ever since i learned this, my friends can never beat me lmao
this was the best video explained thus far where someone mentioned that going out of db goes back to back naturally which helped me get the timing ty
Your video is the best in this matter! Thx!
thanks man, it really helped me a lot
Im glad i could help out. us pad players need to stick together lol
Watched this after switching to pad from stick after 5 years...this video sped up the transition immensely.
This is the best explanation I’ve ever seen
Once you said "don't engulf the entire down arrow" It clicked for me immediately. Thanks man I got it now😁
thanks bro super easy vid to understand nice job
This was really helpful!!
holy shit, thank you! i didn't realize a korean backdash could be done on a pad
Great tutorial, im trash but I now sometimes get the motion right a few times in a row (not the first time thought wich is the most important) but I guess is a matter of time and practice.

I never knew that when you release DB it automatically takes back input 😂😂😂 now i am gonna master the shit out of this trick....thanks a lot good friend...
You teach the Korean backdash better than Koreans. I saw this video and understood it perfectly
Thanks homie it helped
Mad respect dude💯
Great tutorial for us pad players! For reviewing purposes 04:30
thanks bro love it

Some things are really unnecessarily difficult in Tekken..
Its not unnecessary though. It is what makes a Tekken game different from the rest. Also Legacy skills matter!

I don't even play on pad ! But still a very helpful tutorial i will show it to my friends who play on pad 😊 i play on stick
ok with bryan that's just god damn amazing
Ty for this, now I can bully my cousins who are good at combos but bad at movements😂
i use my index fingers to press the buttons , 2 thumbs does make you focus less on the buttons but i can reach it
masterclass
Really helpful thanks
dude you need more subs!
