You make an excellent point. There is a great alternative: you can buy a suit off the peg. Most good suit shops offer alteration services, sometimes free of charge. If not, you can take your suit to an independent alteration service. Either way, you'll achieve that perfect tailored fit at a fraction of the cost. Also, look out for our upcoming video on achieving the old money aesthetic on a budget!

While agreeing with much of this video, it's key to start an assessment of what you're likely to wear a lot of times. It doesn't make sense to invest in quality items if you're not going to use it. For example, I live in a country house in Portugal and I don't wear suits, sports jackets or loafers. They don't make sense over here. What does make sense is investing in quality knitwear, a good quality leather jacket and boots. If old money teaches anything, it's not style, but cost per use.

IS GREY MARK ANTHONY SUIT GOOD?

Regardless of the brand, what really makes a good suit comes down to two main things: fit and fabric. If possible, opt for fabrics such as wool or cotton blends, i.e. that include natural fibres. As for the fit, do talk to the sales person if you're unsure, to check that it fits you well. We'll make a video about suits shortly, stay tuned!
