The first thing you learn as a member of an "old money" family is to invest the money, not spend it. You MUST NEVER become poor, you don't know what it's like but at some point in the past the family did not have money and we're not going back to that.
WE'RE NOT GOING BACK TO THAT!!
they do wear luxury, just not the flashy, designer kind, designer fashion is aimed at lower middle class a step away from hunger and misery trying to scream to others, look at me, I'm no longer poor.
Well observed! Old money tends to prefer luxury that's understated and of high quality, rather than flashy designer labels. It's more about timeless style than the latest trend.
right on!
More people would have so much money if they stop worrying, assuming, and pocket watching others. It screams insecurity, jealousy, inner self hatred and disappointment in oneself when people try to knock others. Old money was once upon a time new money.
I had many British aristocratic friends and clients and a couple of things that shocked me was the college age girls used to buy their clothes from charity shops/second hand shops, men inherited their suits from fathers, they would take them for tailoring, older men would have their old shirts collars and cuffs reversed. European aristocrats do not like flashy brands at all. I find the Spaniards the best dressed people in the West. Old money from the Middle East also dress incredibly especially Lebanese, Saudis and Iranians. Pakistanis women are also super classy.
many people forget the core of the "old money". Your family, father, grandpa at their time they rich or famous and you inherit it.
100%
"Less is more". Applies to almost everything in life.
Exactly! 'Less is more' is a timeless principle, especially in old money style. It's about quality over quantity.
you are absolutely right 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sending this video to as many black ppl as I possibly can!!!!

Brother Kevin , if black ppl with money could learn what quiet 🤫 high end fashion means , we would stop looking like clowns 🤡
Loud clowns at that !
In my opinion.

Great channel thank you.
so great video!
Old money have one thing, the quality of the clothes allow for generation transfer of the clothes. Quality clasic clothes that are not afected by trends let you do that. You can transfer that concept with watches as the idea that the watches will be in the world longer than the buyer is more assumed.
Absolutely, I've seen this in the UK.
Money screams, wealth whispers
Absolutely! True wealth often speaks through understated elegance.
The real quality recognise their own and stick to their own places and circles. Money will buy you an audience, but not a seat at the top table.
the opinion of God is the only that matters
@@milkshakeplease4696 Exactly. And God will reward you according to your merit, not caring whether you are rich or poor. If you happen to be rich and good, that's just great for you. If you are poor and good, then you don't need to worry about the past.
Except almost every photo was not from old money.
Absolutely right.
I am here to see if somebody already told that.
How do we identify old money outfit
That's a whole lie
This is all new money, Asian and factory made !!! The 🇬🇧 King Charles III is old money….look at how he dresses? The late Queen Elizabeth II used to heat her bedroom with an old fashioned three bar electric fire and eat her breakfast cereals from Tupperware boxes! That’s real old money self confidence.
Asia made it because you demand it. These clothes are obviously not Asian. Asian crafts are the best in the world.

Trying to impress, always without an exception, falls short in the end.
Chris Hemsworth has come from an ordinary suburb in Melbourne Australia. Not old money but new money.
My ex boss, super rich, has private jet, ship, real estate, bank, etc, he used to wear old white polo shirt, shortpant, 2g handphone nokia
Very goid video discussion with plenty of very good examples.
Very Nice !
thank you very much! I am glad you enjoyed the video
Great video 👌
Only new wealth are stupid enough to wear branded clothes with noticeable tags.
By the way, I mostly wear Levis jeans because is an american brand and are relatively cheaper but very well-made.
They A re. Lovely.
Nice touch getting Joe Swanson from Family Guy to do the narration 😅
hahaha, glad you enjoyed it!
@6:50 there is no sophistication or elegance with tattoos ... you can wear the most classy and expensive clothes money can buy but they are stained and degraded by the tattoos. Like nice white satin bed sheets with skidmarks on them... they just don't work
Was that Jamie Redknapp at the beginning of this video ?
Yes bro at 1:27 it's Jamie Redknapp

Most of these point are very valid But Is it possible that old money people have learnt not to just follow others like the rest of us. Fashion for example is overrated and can often be very vulgar, and is it not always good value for money. You see fashion, be it clothes cars etc, comes and goes whilst good style last for ever. The fashion industry makes its money mostly from the don't haves who can not think for them selves, and have to follow the follower. I for one don't follow fashion, because like the old money people I don't like being ripped off. Most of what I see in fashion today is not good value for money, so when I want to dress up, which is very frequently I buy clothes that compliment me and the things that I can compliment. I refuse to get involved with fashion which simply invented the Emperors new clothes. I don't buy so called luxury, fashionable fast over engineered cars, with the latest fashionable gadgets that depreciate enormously, and are just like buying a speed boat for a swimming pool. Yes I am a wanker in the eyes of many because I do dress well and drive true luxurious old cars. I am a very practical person and my motto in life is. If I look richer than others it is only because I can not afford what they can.
Saying old money does not wear luxury is a lie. They wear it, like Hwermes, Louis Vitton, Loro Piana, Brunelo Cucinelli, Max Mara, Tom Ford... Which are also more expensive than even fashion houses like Gucci.
Depends on the country, I find the British ones super stingy when it comes to spending on clothes.
@@healing682a suit from Seville Row doesn’t come cheap.

What if I come from a poor family and made all my money myself, but I want to identify as "Old Money" because it sounds more glamorous? ;)
Pics don’t match words. If anything I’m more confused than before

Everyday wear for English aristocracy is the stuff their wives buy them at Marks and Spencer’s or charity shops.
English aristocracy often values practicality and understatement in their daily wear. Marks and Spencer’s and charity shops can be gold mines for those timeless pieces.
@@dressii absolutely. My old boss even had a 30 year old Volvo. He only cared that it reliable and was cheap to run. He had little disposable cash. Almost all income went on the estate, the house (massive) and upkeep of various cottages and two farms on the estate.
I still have my classic suit trousers I bought 10 years ago.
I find this video comical because people FROM old money wear very juvenile clothing.
because luxury isnt flashy
Exactly! Old money values understated elegance over flashy displays.
😊❤🎉💯.
The video could have been 7 minutes shorter!
yeah they just have custom-made clothes that cost tens of thousands of dollars more than ordinary luxury brands. I wonder how people are gullible enough to fall for such shallow YT videos??
I am so tired of all this old money videos flowing the internet., Whom are they for? I guess it is for new money trying to aspire to be consider old money.
all those videos feed of and endlessly copy each other. LOL AND STOP IT, Invent your own ideas. we have all heard it already. so snobby and clueless.
Agreed or simply wear whatever the f...k you want with logos or no logos 🙂
Take a deep breath. Your angry because you bought gucci and wasted all that money on garbage.

Ummm then why you clicking on it?
What's the big deal with pretending to be old money. You are what u are. Just because u don't have wealthy ancestors doesn't mean that u should pretend to have some😂
You're absolutely right! Authenticity is key. It’s not about pretending to be old money but embracing and expressing your own style and values.
Old money is basically dressing like vintage cartoon marines not to look like show offs but while wearing 100k Rolex
No one will wear that 100k rolex. Instead will wear A.Lange & Sonhe.
Tattoos and quiet luxury seem an anathema..
becasue flashy designer clothes ar eoften overdone, overpiced and made very, very poorly!
People who make videos like this have no idea what they are talking about.

Parvenus can be spotted a kilometre away to anyone with innate class and character, literally "posers", who as soon as they open their mouth, the smell of narcissistic sewer water becomes overbearing. We have a very famous expression in Italian which states "it's not the clothes that make the monk", in short, you can't judge a person's virtues by their attire.
Not true at all. Just another youtuber who doesn't know what he's talking about.
This is all nonsense. It has nothing to do with showing or not showing wealth it has to do with taste and taste has no correlation with wealth.
