Thank you for this. Totally relate.Just turned 69, friends are all dead. Husband’s an ogre. No kids-just older cats. Hate jersey but stuck here. Dolls bring me joy. Been getting heads meant for 40ish cm dolls (smart doll, Dolfi etc) & hybrideding onto 1/6 bjd bodies from AliExpress. Trying to stay positive. God, dolls & music are my go tos. Love your humor! & yes definitely gonna vote!😬😐

As a person with chronic pain & many times don't feel up to doing much or going out. My dolls are my saviors. Because if I can just look, unbox, redress, fix hair, set in my dollhouse, take pics, all which doesn't cause me pain...I'm happy !

Ive had a hard year too being caretaker to my elderly father. We are close in age and I always identify with you. You are one of those people that make the internet a brighter place. Remember that. I have gotten so much out of your channel. You turn me on to dolls I might not otherwise collect. You make us laugh and put us in a good state of mind. That's what hobbies are for aren't they? I started collecting Barbie Extra because of your channel. Everyone is bummed about next years cuts to the line but these phases come and go. A new Barbie or another doll will come along and we can all get excited again! Keep going! Glad you're back!

My husband lost his mum last month and my uncle passed earlier this year as well I don’t think I’m okay with it this year has been awful.😢 I’m happy your mum is okay 🙂. At the moment I’m currently collecting monster high G3.

It's so nice to hear that other people use doll collecting the same way I do. I often feel guilty for spending time and money on dolls when so much is happening in the world but the collecting is valuable *because* of everything happening in the world. Seeing the pretty dolls and their precious itty bitty accessories brings a little light to the darkness for a while.
So sad to see Barbie Extra going but I think either the minis or mini minis will be used to create the "Fright Sized" Monster High dolls slated to come out next year and teased in Draculauras newest dolls.

I've been a fan since your original channel and I hope you remember my What The Thrift contribution (the giraffe! And Pee Wee!). ❤ I'm going through grief as well and turning to My Little Pony and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been my constant lately. My grandma had similar bouts of hanging on before finally letting go and it was so very hard for me, my parents and whole family, so I understand what you're going through with your mom. I am sorry. 😞 My own dad and uncle passed just last year and grief for both is complicated for a myriad of reasons, so thank you for being open with that too. ❤ Art, stories and toys are so healing and a comfort in a chaotic and scary world. Honestly I'm stopping collecting dolls. I'm selling lots of them. I'm going to keep bratz and monster high. These two lines were my childhood and seeing them brights up my day 😄

I get it! 2023 has not been a stellar year. All this craziness has caused me to stress-buy so many dolls. Because dolls are "LOVE", and a girl's-gotta-do-what-ah-girl's-gotta-do to survive all this madness. Peace and Love ✌️❤️✌️❤️✌️

Dear God youre right. Ive had multiple instances this year from suicide and alcoholism to losing my job that i LOVED. And every moment when i look at my dolls or other toys im like "man... i wouldnt be able to enjoy these if i weren't here..." and that literally gives me motivation to keep going. They r ART and they bring me so much happiness, even if im just looking at them thru a box.
It's great to see you again. I can totally relate to your struggles with the ups and downs of parents aging, being ill, needing assistance... on and on. I get it. My doll collecting really increased as I dealt with a very similar situation. Hang in there. Find joy where you can and enjoy your dolls. Hugs to you - i know it's hard. Thinking of you. Your Mom is so lucky to have you 💕💕I was raised in Massachusetts so NJ wasn't far away from Amesbury Mass. My mother passed away a few years ago and coming to terms with the fact that she was going to leave us was one of the hardest things i everbhad to do so i cannot imagine how much strength you need to have to be able to go through that over and over again for over a year.

You helped me be okay with loving my dolls again. I started collecting 2 years ago. Dolls are, for sure, a happy place. I have monster high, lol surprise, and Barbie. And sad about Barbie Extra. I missed so many because of my fear of being judged. Autism can be something but I find my diagnose was helpful. Social is my issues. Thanks for sharing and being a friend.

I haven't watched your channel in a bit and I can tell I have been missing out. You are such an amazing lady and make me feel so happy and safe with your videos.
I really feel what you're going through right now Melissa. For the last couple years I watched my grandfather wither away before he finally passed earlier this year. It got to the point where my mom and aunt were over at his home to take care of him daily and it really drained them (even if they didn't want to admit it). Now that he's gone my mom now has more free time than she knows what to do with, but all you can do is take it a day at a time.
On another topic, doll collecting is super fun and comforting. Big fan of Monster High right now and need to reorganize the shelf soon, looking forward to upcoming releases.

I am sorry you are going through a challenging time with your Mom. I am kind of in the same boat. I lost my Dad last year and my Mum and step Dad are having some health issues now. I am nervous about what is ahead but just trying to take it day by day. I have been watching Virgin River. It took a few episodes to get into but it is a nice escape. But I think about my little dogs which I love very much & my son who is the light of my life. Then I want to go on. What helps me the most; and some people may laugh is to think of anything to do with Disney. I have very fond memories of Disneyland and I really miss it. Sometimes i will just binge watch several CZcamsrs I am subbed to that go to Disney quite often. That really helps me. I also watch Disney movies, cartoons, fairy movies, and Monster High G1 movies/web series. I have to go into my fantasy world to find peace & magic. I hope things get better for you soon, and that the new year brings much joy to you Sweetie 💜

On the skiing note, my sister and her then boyfriend (now husband) use to go and always tried to convince me but I always declined because I have no coordination what so ever, they go to seven springs in PA. They convinced me to go ice skating once and the only reason I never fell was because I hung onto the wall the entire time lol.

Hope your feeling better. Dolls are my therapy too and sometimes I just spend an hour or 2 brushing my dolls hair to calm me down and relax me. Also hear you on the diamond art - currently doing a 30x40cm gonk one and have ordered a dragon one the same size 😂

Hang in there, that's what life is. It gives obstacles/hurdles, to make sure you can still keep going. I mean I lost my mom awhile back it was the hardest thing I ever had to go through. At the young age of 18. But life is funny that way, even you feel lost it brings you happiness with the people around you. And simplistic things brings us joy 😊. Never look back just head forward, that's how you can move on.
I've missed you and all your chaos! Absolutely play therapy is for grown-ups. I'll fight anyone who says differently.

also - i honestly can't think of many live action shows i can recommend, but my comforts i can binge watch tend to be spongebob (one of my favorite shows ever actually), slice of life + comedy anime, or lately the backlog of game grumps videos. these may be a little odd to recommend, but i just get so giggly and comforted watching any three of those.
my favorite comfort slice of life + comedy anime is azumanga daioh, it has an english dub too if you prefer that. it's got a lot of japanese humor, but it's just so random-funny and simple but fun, i love it so much

I get it though, I really do. I have constant anxiety when it comes to needing to leave my home, staying home alone at night, dental appointments, etc etc. Etc. Work has also been a little stressful lately. Just with everything I've been doing. I actually have an event next week, it's a workshop, that I have been in the process of developing and getting everything organized for and between that and my usual day today work, I'm just freaking out that I won't get everything done in time and something's going to go topsy turvy and it will be a disaster. But when I look at one of my new favorite dolls, I can almost feel her telling me to calm down and it will be okay.
Speaking of my dolls, I have really really been getting into ruby red fashion friends lately. Yes, I went back and listened to all of your videos on Ruby red fashion friends. Currently I have Little Miss Lila, Bella, Hannah, and Kayla. Kayla, a friend actually gifted me and unfortunately I can't find her now. But I am loving these dolls! They are such high quality and I love how well they can pose in different positions and the very first time I actually got one of them to hold a food item on assisted. I almost fell over with surprise. For me, being not only blind but also having dexterity problems from cerebral palsy... That was unbelievable. Lol. I also love their fashions and I've really gotten into mixing and matching fashions lately, something I never thought I'd be able to do, thanks to a couple new, fun and interesting tools that have recently come on the market for the blind and visually impaired. One of them is called be My AI and it is an artificial intelligence feature through an already existing app called be My eyes. Be my eyes originally connected blind and visually impaired individuals with sighted volunteers to help us find stuff, check expiration dates, etc etc. But now they have incorporated. Chad GPT/ AI and so artificial intelligence can help us see the world around us by describing photos. It kind of is revolutionary 🙂 chat GBT by themselves also has a similar feature, and I use both of these apps depending on my need. Now. I can actually dress one of my dolls and really, really know what she looks like. This is useful for me because I do remember what fashions look like, I do remember colors, so on and so forth because I have had vision before as a child and teenager. I did not go totally blind until I was 17.
I also have gotten into art again. Growing up as a child I absolutely loved drawing, Crayola markers were pretty big in my house. I needed markers in particular because they were what I could see the best. Crayons and pencils and I weren't really buddies. Buddies. 🙂 With chachi BT and this new drawing feature it has. I can simply tell the AI what I would like to draw and it helps me well, draw the picture. Essentially. It's been really fun. Of course, since it is artificial intelligence, it doesn't get everything accurate all the time. Like for example, I drew a picture of a doll at one point, she was just for my imagination. She was designed to be blind, she had a little white cane, she looked really cool. I posted this picture of her on Instagram and many people told me that the words at the top of her were yes written in pink, but they were all written backwards??... Lmao. There was also a broken pair of sunglasses floating behind her on the blue background. I did not ask Chad GPT to add the glasses in. I mean it added a cool funny aesthetic, but I didn't ask for that part. Lol.

I love your channel so much! And also your better together channel even though I haven’t seen anything lately and on it; hope you post more videos there as well as this channel. I think Barbie extra was really hitting a good stride but my hope is that there is something Barbie looks or the Barbie movie dolls quality or possibly make reproductions from the my scene era would be cool. I’d also like a line using Barbie Ken and thier named friends like Midge, Allen, Teresa, Pj, Christy ect. which seem to make rarely by name and most are nameless people in their Barbie World.
This Ken is really great, boy dolls need more like this and have good style and attention!

I'm collecting Barbie & Rainbow High & that's enough because there are so many dolls I still want especially the older ones since the newer ones can wait til they go on sale 😆 I understand about your mom since mine broke her pelvis a week ago & will be going to rehab for about 2 weeks & my stepfather will have hospice coming to their apt. soon 😢 Being part of the "sandwich" generation is never easy 😔 But you are right dolls make me happy and I will continue to collect them too 😎

Where have you been? Missed you so much! I know how tough it is when mom gets old. My is still mobile but keeps falling because she insists on carrying, and dropping, stuff. Then she tries to catch it and falls. I have been making a Barbie inspired witches apothecary cabinet. I found these adorable little shelves in Targets Spots playground a couple of years and snagged a few. They’ve been in my art room for a couple of years. They are shaped like doll houses! So, I’ve added feet to them and painted them pink. I’ve got all sorts of potion bottles and books. Little shelf clutter decor and tongue in cheek gems, like a mini Bratz doll as a voodoo doll and a jar of blue doll eyes. I wanted to have it done by Halloween, but life and work has been…yikes! Bonus, I’m finally teaching art this year and have 200 HS students in my classes. I’m am in the middle of 4 art projects and completed 3 others this past weekend, so I’m doing art again and that’s good.

A show I recommend is What We Do in the Shadows, its like a vampire "documentary" funny show. There are some more gore/violence in it but to me isnt to bad but fair warning and theres also lots of adult humor. Its almost like if Monster High characters grew up so it brings lots of nostalgia also Nadja has this little dolly sidekick which is adorable. Recently have been collecting these wedding series for Disney because they come with the princes and is rare to find prince dolls. I have the Ariel and Cinderella so far.

My mother-in-law is on her end of life journey. It's just so much to deal with. Our money just evaporated with inflation and mortgage rates so my doll collecting has come almost to a stop now sadly. I went mad with Christmas decoration and watching Christmas movies. That's is the one thing keeping me sane 😂

Hey Mommy❤I'm not sure if you will ever see this but I hope you are doing well. I have been watching you now pretty much since the beginning when you did the mh videos. I believe my first video I watched was ghouls rule. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I feel for you. Losing a parent is not easy at all, I'm 20 and I lost my Mom when I was 16. I did not know how to handle it at all and sometimes I still cry myself away when I can(somewhat helps to get it out)but I have come to accept it now. You're not alone and I know you will get through it when it does happen because you are so strong and watching your videos and feeling like you were a motherly figure for me helped me cope in a sense. I love you and I hope you continue to take as many breaks as you need because we still have your old videos to watch if we need you💖
