'#1 Crush' is one of the most malevolent songs ever to sneak into the Top 40. Sure, there have been songs about dangerous obsession before, one of the most famous being 'Every Breath You Take'. But where that song has a lyrically neutral tone that can be taken in good or bad terms, 'Crush' leaves no doubt in the listener. Whoever she is singing to, (and it might be you), is probably headed for a bad end.
She isn't a damsel in distress, her vibe is more like, I'm going to follow you home and you won't know until I ring the bell! On stage she looks a little possessed but when she steps back from the microphone stand all you see is a cute girly girl!
I miss the 90s so much. Never thought the world would go down the direction that it did. Imagine if western society kept down the right path from the 90s instead of the woke sterile cultural wasteland we live in today
this live performance is the best I have seen. the depth of emotion, the lyrics ,are as heavy as it gets .listen to it every day never tire of it ,utterly brilliant.
