Derick’s speed in transition is second to none. You can see that inner city high school basketball type of intensity in how he plays. In the half court, Derick was able to go 0-60 very quickly and he was able to split gaps. Thirdly, his strength , he looked almost too explosive for his size. That’s probably what contributed to the injury. Finally, his flare.. one of the things I liked about his dunks is actually how he comes off the rim “after the dunk” there’s a certain flash that’s comparable to the bat flip in baseball
What’s even more impressive is the amount of time it takes Rose to reach top speed. He didn’t even need two steps nor full strides, where Westbrook clearly has to load up before detonating.
