As with all of the other related rates problems I've worked through, we are going to be following the same four step process.
    1:12 | 1. Draw a sketch
5:04 | 2. Come up with your equation
    12:01 | 3. Implicit differentiation
18:51 | 4. Solve for the desired rate of change

      A.4ft B.12ft C.16ft D.100ft E.5ft What is the correct answer?

@@craigeeyt2826 it’s easiest to use Pythagorean Theorem to figure that out.

I swear this guy gets his problem sets from my exact textbook and I love it.

I probably do! I try to do problems from popular required textbooks to help you out.

It's not that; about 90% of the time when anybody solves the ladder problem publicly, the ladder is going to form a 3, 4, 5 right triangle with the wall against which it rests. There is a limited number of ways the data for such a scenario can be presented. Insofar as this is the case when you see somebody work this problem it's going to seem like you've seen it before because in all likelihood you have seen it before.

This is the best explanation I have ever seen on CZcams and I have learned all of Calc, chem, and precalc on CZcams
