@@Bloodpug420 It's part of the shtick to have clickbait titles. The longer term fans know and it also attempts to be flashy enough to bring in newer viewers. While the stories channel grows in subs, the main channel sub growth is super slow, almost saturated on the viewers that want the content. So it's nothing new to everyone really.

Audio nerd checking in: New mic has a tendency to peak when you speak loudly, consider checking the input volume or maybe just turning it down a notch. It also seems to exaggerate the upper mid-range a bit too much. However, you do get a lot more background noise (feels more like being in the car) and clarity from your voice which is great.

A little tid bit on Damon's chicken rant, just because it says "usda organic" does not necessarily mean it was a humanely raised chicken. All that label means is it was fed USDA organic feed, the chicken was raised the exact same as the other mass produced birds. Look into farms that follow restorative agriculture, raises the most natural animals and actually improves the land they're being raised on. Pasture bird in California is a great example, they have solar powered chicken coops that slowly move from acre to acre, so the chickens are eating fresh grass and bugs every day.

Don't get me wrong, I love that shit too, but a healthy balance between the two makes for superior content just like this video was. My take on the lapel mic... Not fond of it tbh... It's definitely ear piercingly sharp at times and prefers whichever mic you guys are using prior to it and once you hand over the camera to someone else... Its kinda odd, like hearing the noise from inside of the car but we're watching from outside of it. Like a perspective being messed up
I found using quality headphones 🎧 vs ehhh headphones 🎧 make the world of difference... No judgement passed... I'm just saying
Watching on the tv with a sound bar I have to adjust the level from really low when they do their burnouts back to up high again when they are talking. In not the biggest fan of the new mic but they are good with voice!

Those clip on mics are insane, I was wondering why the audio sounded so much more on par with the main channel and then Damon explained it! Awesome!
I feel like the new mics make the cars sound better, but voices are more muffled. Not that i have the best hearing.
Tech nerd here, honestly not a fan of the dji mic. Doesn’t pick up the full range and keeps clipping and topping out.
Now Dji might just need a tune or filter
But I’d say try rode they are studio quality. And they probably did the mini wireless clip mics for out and about.
If possible I’d always prefer no compromise when It comes to audio. It’s almost more important than the video quality if I had to choose one to max out 😅😂.
I think if he turned the mic out and not have the main portion on his chest it would be better But I came here to say exactly that. The audio is definitely different….better but not as good as it could be with that setup
Yeah I'm no audiophile but I ha e noticed that the Dji mics don't sound good at all with a heap of different youtubers. Not a fan of them.
Sounds like it's muffled and as you said doesn't pick up all the ranges.
It diminishes the overall qualtiy of the video.

Audio engineer here, add a compressor, limiter, a dip in the mids a little (actually check the frequency range and save as a preset) and definitely a de esser.

I think the lapel mic works well, the audio sounds decent and clear, all while maintaining a more consistent volume all the way throughout the video even as you face the camera away. Plus it’s sleek as hell, and doesn’t seem to get in the way or be a bother. Exhaust note sounds okay, it’s not too loud but not too quiet, even when you get on it.
As a chef, that analogy about the kitchen knives was dead on! Never driven a Senna(too poor 😂) but I have lots of japanese knives and I know what you mean!!

ON THE DJI MICS…. Damon, that was a good call, cause often you use the camera mic. As an example of why this doesn’t work - if someone is talking to the camera from another car, while you’re on the road. You can’t hear ANYTHING they’re saying. Or standing around a group of people, same thing. The mics have helped make things more clear, but will only work if you all have them. Aside from that, the overall volume gain for the videos is still low. When Mark edits the videos, can you ask him to increase the volume gain for the entire video? I have to turn my tv up to 70-75 to hear your videos at a normal level. Increasing the gain will help with being able to hear the videos without turning your tv all the way up. Doesn’t happen with allot of other you tube videos, and should with yours cause you have the funds and desire to make the best videos on CZcams. Glad your investing in video quality
