Why would someone use UScreen over using Patreon for their private, paid for video channel? Is it the percentage Patreon takes? Or the rental\one time fee options?
Uscreen is on a whole other level in my opinion. Patreon is a platform where you essentially have a feed where you can post content, right?. Uscreen on the other hand is a tool that lets you build essentially your own Netflix. You can white label it so it's all your own branding, you can even create your own custom branded mobile app in addition to a custom website. So it's just a different type of experience (not saying there's anything wrong with Patreon, it's just different than this!)

What I don't understand is that targeting North-American adults is the best audience (money wise). A lot of people in the world speak English myself included. I don't live however in the US so an add for a product that is only available in the US is most likely not shown to me, while I might watch the video. It might be targeted to American people, still a lot of people will be able to understand the video and watch it outside of the US. I am Dutch and a video that is spoken in Dutch will most likely nearly only be watched by Dutch people. There might be a few Belgians but that is about it.
it's just what data has shown advertisers to be the most effective! it's not a value judgement or like they're trying to exclude global audiences - it's all just big data indicating where the best ad investments are. It's not going to be accurate 100% of the time or anything but it's typically how advertisers are going to set their budgets
@@katie Let me explain why I doubt this because I don't think there are many sources for this kind of information. Most of the time what you see is the RPM from originating countries. Since the Netherlands is a small country, a lot of Dutch CZcamsrs make video's in English. The reason is obvious, many people in the world, including nearly every Dutch viewer understands English. So, if a video that is originating in the Netherlands is in English it can be watched by Americans (rich country) but also by somebody from central Africa (poor). If the originating country is however the Netherlands and the language is Dutch then it can basically be watched by Dutch people and half of the Belgian people both are rich countries. The same is of course true for several other small European countries that have their own language like Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Zweden. But I am more then happy to believe you are right if you have a list of RPM per spoken language. That would be interesting data.
