Now a days WAP4 pulls only Slow passenger trains and ICF intercity...but mujhe iska design or color bht pasand tha..
Mujhe toh abhi bhi iska sab kuch pasand hai including honking and aggression in higher speeds😊

Some superfasts still run with a WAP4, 12141 regularly gets WAP4.
WAP4 is still used in a few trains. I've always been observing Panvel-Gorakhpur express equipped with the said series of loco. Yes, this train has ICF coaches.

I am from Jharkhand and noticing from the last few months that even local passenger trains are being hauled by WAP7. It was such a jaw-dropping experience for me to see my train Garib Rath was with WAP4 but a passenger train from the opposite direction was coming with WAP7.

I am 65 years old and come from a generation that has not only seen but intensively travelled in trains pulled by Steam Engines. Especially journey by Punjab Mail right from Ferozepur to Bombay (now Mumbai). Then change for Miraj express at Miraj for Hubli. Then return journey same way. We used to be fully black by flying Ash when we reached the destination either side but still miss those days. Our childhood was related to holding each others' back and running with the noice of

Hello sir I'm a daily viewer of you videos and I can see you answer the questions which were asked by random people . My question is that how duronto and normal ICF coaches are being used in garib rath express ( I have seen many videos of Garib rath express with the mentioned coaches that's why I'm asking ) as duronto and other ICF coaches have 3:1( 6:2) seating ratio and in Garib raths case it is 2:1 ( 6:3)

WAP 4 class has got multiple demerits such as sluggish acceleration compared to 3 phase locomotive, non compliance with HOG technology and also high maintenance dc series traction motors. Plus they are not very efficient. Also they have design related problems like they were designed for Shatabdi Express series with max operational speed of 130 kmph in service. Its traction motor cannot spin faster than 895 rpm, whereas WAP5 or WAP7 traction motors has much more speed (1000+ rpm). This makes the class unsuitable for premium high speed trains, hence now WAP5 or WAP7 are in charge of this type of trains. Still WAP4 can pull many heavy trains with the old ICF coaches as long as it is economic to maintain it. Very rarely the WAP4 pulls superfast trains.

Pehle harek variety colour/livery ke locomotives dekhne ko milte the... Chahe Blood-Red WAP4 ka ho, ya Purani Rajdhani livery mein WAP1 (kaheen kaheen toh Purani Shatabdi livery mein bhi WAP1 dekhne ko milta tha). WAP2 aur WAP3 bhi alag colours mein aate the, khair woh locomotives zyada din tak chale nahi. Doosre taraf saare WAM or WAG locomotives bhi bhinn bhinn colours mein dekhne ko milte the... Mumbai side mein toh WCP/WCM aur phir WCAM locomotive ka alag hi andaaz tha.
Aur yeh toh ho gaya Electric locomotives ka... Diesel ka agar ginna bhi chaalu kiya, toh list khatm nahi hoga... WDG, WDM aur WDP class ke alag alag sheds ke alag alag rango ke locomotives dekhne ko milte the... Indian Railways used to be quite colourful back in the day!
Aaj toh sirf performance aur paise bachane ke chakkar mein wahi ek ghisa-pita safed/white colour ka WAP7/WAP5 aur Green colour mein WAG 9 followed by Blue mein WAG12, aur diesel mein WDP4/4B/4D (yeh bhi bahut kam dikhte hain aajkal) aur bas yahaan wahaan ginnkar ek-aadh WDG4D/WDG5/WDG6 dekhne ko milte hain... Ek zamaane ka sabse popular WAG5 aur WAG7 bhi Diesel locomotives ke saath saath extinct hote jaa rahe hain... Aajkal ke trains aur locomotives sab ek hi rang-roop ke dikhne lage hain, CREATIVITY din ba din Khatm hota Jaa raha hai Indian Railways se...

Actually main reason ye hai ki jaise jaise LHB coach ki train badh rahi h..HOG generation ki zrurt hai jo ki wap4 me nahi h is wajah se extra generator car lagani padegi..isiliye lhb rake ko wap4 bht kam pull krte h wap7 aur wap5 dono HOG ko support krte h...Head On Generation

WAP-5 HOG support to karti hai but bahut kam hi wap-5 hai jo HOG enabled hai. Mostly sab Non-HOG wale hain.

WAP-5 have BO - BO wheel arrangement that is 2-2 wheel set , hence they cannot pull heavy train because their tractive effort is low , WAP5 lococ cannot pull 20-25 coaches easily ,

WAP-4 hi Mera sabse favorite locomotive hai.Muzhe WAP-7 or WAP-5 bilkul bhi pasand nahi,mai jab kisi long distance train me travel karta hu,too mai bhagwan se sirf ek hi chiz mangta hu oh hai ki mera train ko sirf or sirf WAP-4 locomotive hi mile.WAP-4 ne Jo service diya 22 saal Indian railways ko wo WAP-7 or WAP-5 kavi nahi de payega.WAP-7 26 coaches ko kavi khich nahi payega ek constant speed me Jo WAP-4 aram se kar sakta hai.
WAP means WIDE AREA PASSENGER. WAG means WIDE AREA GOODS .
