- Roger Hodgson co-founded Supertramp in 1969 and was the driving force behind what fans call the 14 golden years of the band. He wrote, sang, and arranged the enduring rock standards that made Supertramp a worldwide phenomenon with album sales in excess of 60 million. Roger not only gave us “Child of Vision,” but also other timeless classics such as "Give a Little Bit," "Breakfast in America,” “Dreamer," "The Logical Song," "Take the Long Way Home," "It's Raining Again," "Fool's Overture," "School," and many more.
Roger is currently on tour. Every concert is a powerful emotional journey and his passion for his music and his art shines through in the magic and intimacy that is felt by the audience, as with this October 2013 show in Montreal, QC, Canada. They were awesome, but there are still awesome musicians today ! Yesterday is not better than today, and today is not better than tomorrow !

Mr. Hodgson, I pray this comment finds you well. Thank you for all the beautiful music you have shared with the world for so long. May the Lord continue to bless you as you write and perform the music He gives you.
Encore plus actuel en 2023 qu'en 1979...une chanson intemporelle et visionnaire...un pur chef d'œuvre !

I cldnt stop listening to this album for a few wks when I was a 15yo homeless runaway - ChildOfVision got me thru sleeping on the overnight trains, hidden in the dunes of a metropolitan beach, under a bridge in a storm.....
Supertramp are simply timeless. As good now as then. Iconic music, lyrics and a unique sound. Sheer quality and always a joy to listen to
I agree!!
"Intemporel" voilà l'adjectif que je cherchais ... C'est exactement ça !!! J'ajouterai même indémodable et irremplaçable ce groupe.

I seem to have the same problem . It never ages . I never turn the sound down . I never stop feeling really macho inside when its playing. Its like some rocky balboa funk right here . just wicked.
moi aussi ;)
I going to say the same exact thing! I keep coming back to listen to Rodgers great work, it's timeless!
Supertramp "entered" my life in the late 70's early 80's and for some unexplainable reason they never left. Till today. Even though they still (thank god) exist today, if we want to be honnest we have to admit that 90% of supertramp DNA is.....Mr Hodgson. I mean, this is not just about music. This is mostly about magic. 😢Bless them all for still being around. 👍🇵🇹

How wonderful it was to grow up in an era of bands that went on stage and played their own instruments and sang songs that they wrote and were able to perform on stage and have it sound as good live as it was in the studio!
Yes true talent no gimmicks music that lasts for years gives so much pleasure, anyone with a good musical ear can appreciate these bands, and realise how lucky our generation was to enjoy their talent.
Right on 😎👍
thank you very much in corsica
With no auto tune either !!!!! I hope the kids today see this and realize that THIS is music!
This is just a sad reminder how shitty most music has become these day. Roger, back in de seventies, still today one of my all time favourites.

Or July 2023. The harmonies on this song on Breakfast In America absolutely blew my mind in ‘79. It still brings me chills & nobody but Roger’s performance & his talented band could replicate this masterpiece live the way it should be done. I’m truly impressed!
I'm 22, but i love this band and specially this song, it reminds me my mother, she was always a big fan of 70's music.
Beautiful and nostalgic ❤️
i`ll soon be 70 and followed Supertramp right from the start ..70`s the best music .Pink Floyd , Genesis , so many good groups
Periodo stupendo di grandissimi artisti e gruppi come supertramp i Genesis gli eagles e tantissimi altri
It's rare that a live version of a classic song is almost identical to the studio version. But this is one of them.
It's just missing the tempo drift of the studio album, but otherwise it's pretty darn good.
It was a standard feature of Supertramp performances
Isn’t it?? Identical to the real version
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Наверно единственный случай, когда живое исполнение даже лучше студийного тех лет. Тогда это был хороший свежий коньяк, а сейчас это шикарнейший выдержанный коньяк с прекрасным букетом.

Roger Hodgson isn't only an excellent singer, writer and composer,
he also has a great talent of finding excellent musicians to accompany him. 5 x 😇!
Actually, it was his mother who had that great talent. She told Roger to go down and interview with Rick to join his band.
@@WilliamJones-sf5pt His father gave him his guitar when he was 12. Other parents tell children to learn something "proper", but his talented mother knew about her talented son and what makes him pleasure and encouraged him. That's how a mother has to be❣
@@matildah7374 Cool. Rick was also a child prodigy. When searching for a band to play in, the only group needing someone was looking for an organist. Having never played the instrument, Rick faked it. Rick was eight years Roger's superior.

I was 17 years old when this song came out. I was playing it one day in our living room and my mom, who was on another planet, musically, came out and said; "What an amazing harmony." She also played piano so that was a hook for her as well. Another band I have to tip my hat to for being so original, and further evidence of a time when everything did not come out of a plastic box.
Well said, although I'm not from your generation, my dad is, he introduced me to supertramp and all of his other favourite musicians while I was growing up and I couldnt be more grateful to him for that. Thanks to him I'm able to enjoy such great pieces of music ! I wish I was born at a time where songs like that were still coming out, such a golden era for music ! Anyway, I got a bit passionate here, sorry !

True music is the one that touches people's souls and emotions. That's why I really like this song and others of theirs.
That’s the reason “Hide In Your Shell” is so special to me. He just pours such emotion & longing into the latter part of the song. We’ve all known (or have been) someone affected by hurts & internalized pain. If they could just open up to someone who would listen without judgment & seek emotional healing for them.
Always inspirational, it has been with me for a long time.
How can I share, with all who have seen the internal vision of themselves and developed character.
Supertramp has given, over 30 years what I needed to hear.
Thank you for sharing the Vision .
Never leave your inner child.

ABSOLUTELY!
