I Got KICKED OUT of My Slip in the Marina! Relocating My Boat | Captain Christa|

- I got kicked off my dock! The harbor will be tearing down the dock and building a new one so I got the boot! Though todays video is not as adventurous as most of my content, this is an important update I wanted to share with you guys! In this video I pack up my boat, dinghy, and dock box and get it ready for my relocation. Before I move I hop in my dinghy and cruise over to check out my new slip for the first time. When I get there a small boat was in my new slip! Good thing I didn't bring the sailboat without checking it out first! I meet some of my new boat neighbors and check out how big the slip is, a 35 footer! Thats a big slip for my 31 ft boat. After seeing my new slip I head back to get my boat ready to leave the dock for the very.. last.. time. Luckily its a short distance to my new location! After successfully moving my boat I walk across the bridge to empty my dock box and grab my dinghy. I load up my dinghy and take all my belongings to my new slip. Which is a tedious process.. I have to take everything out of the dinghy and put it on my back swim step, then off the boat onto the dock, and finally into my new dock box! I set up my steps and mat and now I am officially relocated. The harbor is doing a full renovation and the project will take around 5 years. The dock I was on is going to be torn down next so they had to relocate me. I will miss all of my previous boat neighbors that I got to know over the years... Ill be in this slip until further notice from the harbor. Using the drone has been fun! I was able to pull my boat out of the slip, drive to my new one, and dock all while flying a drone at the same time! My drone skills are getting better! @@CaptainChrista Guy came by @ 11:00 last night and fixed in 20 minutes and charged me only the service call fee of $75 which I thought was great till it quit again @ 6 this evening and now he's Ghosting me ? Luckily my Sister's trip to Florida was cut short because their AC on their 40' Winnebago went Tits up and she brought us 2 blowers tonight . The HVAC guy just text me while I was writing this, I guess his ears must have been burning ?

Saw this video and watched it. Glad it was just a slip change and not a problem. I found the video very interesting so have subscribed and gone to the begining and watched them all. Extremely well done videos. I got a good chuckle about your christmas lights when you said it was cold, I would probably still be wearing shorts and a tee. I live in Toronto Canada where winter boating means a bubbler to keep ice from forming. I am looking forward to future videos.

I grew up in Newport Beach but have sailed mostly in Dana Point with my trailer sailors primarily a Montgomery 17. They took about 1/2 the parking spots away at the launch ramp so have not sailed there too much the last couple of years but plan to this year. Still have the Montgomery but sail more on my Scamp and just got a Norseboat 17.5 so I will keep an eye out for you and your boat when I finally make it to Dana Point again. Enjoying your videos keep them coming.
I enjoy your videos, keep them coming! Before you were born, I enjoyed the marina you are in. I knew a few folks that had boats there, both sail and 'stink-potters'. I worked for a company on La Paz for several years. My friends and I had many meals at the various restaurants in the harbor as well as adventures on the water.

@@CaptainChrista never went to Catalina except by air. My boat was in Channel Islands Harbor, Oxnard. My girls and I dove around Anacapa and Santa Cruz for about 15 years,

I used to have several offices in Cali (Marine Industry) and traveled there frequently. I understand It’s hard to beat SoCal weather and beaches but the docks fees ouch! My dock fee in Clear Lake, Tx is $350.00 for 35’ with access to the resort gym, pool and laundry. While we don’t have Catalina Island we do have Galveston and Padre in the vicinity.
It sure looks like Dana Point Marina.. Good choice

Great job, captain, I think it looks like your dinghy moves pretty quick in fast motion, lol. I think you should’ve put the steps in the boat before you took the boat over though.

I used to be in the same basin - We moved to Alamitos and have never looked back. Dana's pricing has gone through the roof. Lot's of peeps from Dana Point now up in our basin. Nice video

Happy to stumble across something new to add to my watch list! I have a Hunter 36 that I take on short adventures, for now. I have to ask, what are those two black cage looking things mounted on the stern rail? Are they like for repelling bugs? Need to know-curiosity is killing me 😂

One thing you have thought me with your docking videos. Is a 30ft boat is easier to handle docking.
I don’t think a 40ft+ can maneuver as well in the marina, you make turns into your slip look easy.
A lot of this is your docking skills but the air shots of you doing it shows that boat handles really well.
I don’t think a forty ft+ would handle as well as your boat dose.
And really all I need is a boat like yours maybe 30 to 35 ft. Even tho my desire is is a larger boat.

Most 40ft boats I know have bow thrusters to help with maneuvering! My boat definitely turns pretty well! I think 35 is the perfect size

We just did a charter from Aventura out of Dana and got to see all the new work. Looks like it'll be a lot better. What's your slip costing? They said 800-900 I believe?

Yes you should omnipod is the best! Temporary basils, diet and I have a CGM!

Dock box, and 3 years in a slip? Why live on a boat not an apartment? We have been living onboard 8 years and less than 20 days in marinas.
Life on the hook is so much better. You have a sail boat, slip the lines and see the world.
I get it if you have a job that you need to live in the area or something. Otherwise get out of that marina 👍⛵️
