It’s amazing how poorly people treat these things. Mines at 65k tuned making well over 300hp at the wheels with zero issues. I know plenty of people with double the miles that only have done oil/brakes/walnut blasting
It's mainly because a lot of careless idiots dry rev the engine without load on stand still to make noise. High spinning cylinders just asking for bearing trouble
@@441meatloaf that’s only a small part of that, burying your foot when the car is at low rpm’s, taking off with it cold, shit parts/poor tuning, avoiding maintenance, driving the car hard and not letting it cool down for a couple minutes after . . .
Give it time big guy! You’re one of the lucky ones! It has nothing to do with tuning, or care and everything to do with cheap parts during assembly to save Subaru money so they can take more of yours!
@@johnmcmurray540 spot on
@@johnmcmurray540 there’s no arguing there’s some of that, they seem to be one of the better ones for that in the car industry but it happens. But to say it has nothing to with how you take care of the car or get it tuned is ridiculous
As a Subaru owner, this breaks my heart 😢
Man finds easiest way to install unequal length headers
Look like you put mods in without a tune making the air fuel ratio unbalanced. Happened to me. I put mods in and got a tune for it that i had for 1 year of abuse (not daily abuse but still abused) but then i added an upgraded fuel pump and twin ewg with no tune only lasted 2weeks of abuse
Why tf would u put a hpfp w no tune 💀 what was that gonna do
you’re an idiot
Yup that's not a good idea because tactically it's not gonna do anything power wise with out a tune or barely anything... but no this one was completely stock and had to get a new engine
It’s what makes Subaru…. A Subaru
🤣
Yikes. At least it sounds like an EJ now. Smokes like one too.
Had a buddy that bought a brand new WRX a few years ago. With 11 miles on the tack, he hooked up a tuner and was running full boost. He broke his differential in a few thousand miles from launching it. He would have to set it back to factory settings and change his springs to bring it back for warranty work. After getting two rear differentials, replaced and inevitably blowing his transmission, they voided his warranty
Headgaskets
Get lost....
Most likely ring lands
@@davidbeauvais1364 Its not an EJ, but with abuse and no break in it could be ringland or horribly seated piston rings on them and it has some blowby going on.
The piston blew past the spark plugs
@@Lightningvipeso the spark plug wasnt tighten correctly?
Is anyone surprised? their complete garbage engines.
Lol this is a very rare case for an fa motor.
@@robertcoble8149 I'm lumping them altogether. 2 decades later make one issue less of an issue then make it have issues the last 2 decades didn't have. That's fine, head gaskets will be the new issue again by 2036
@@remissiveslave it was probably just owned by a kid that doesnt know a break in period
@@SUMO31364 or forgot that it's a stick and needs to shift gears, probably held redline for a min 😅🙈
@@SUMO31364 that did have something to do with it the guy was never told that breaking in a car was a thing
Definitely more to the story. These cars don't just blow up for no reason.
I wish there was more the pistons blew past the spark plugs... only thing that could have possibly had something to do with it It never had a oil change but I don't think that should cause it either
That’s why when I have kids I’m going to get them cheap cars to make them appreciate them
And that’s the head gaskets for all those other Subaru owners who start their cars in the winter thinking their head gaskets gone.
If you look at the ingredients this is spot on!!!
Sounds and looks like the turbo went out
The pistons blew past the spark plugs and coils
Least surprising thing I’ve heard all year lmao
Opening the brake fluid reservoir while looking for the coolant reservoir explained it, then starting a blown up motor and revving it explained the rest 😂
I’m guessing someone lived on the redline till it went boom!!
Does any car grenade itself like a Subaru? I guess I have been fortunate with my long term ownership of Subie's.
From what I'm seeing you have to be very careful with how you treat Them and take care of them but they can be very fun cars
What makes me so mad about the subie community is that they get these nice ass cars and they fuckin redline them at every stop light then when they get ruined they turn around and over sell them to kids who just want one too, or they part them out and jack up the prices of the used ones on the market. If you aren't going to treat your car well then don't get a subie.
"I don't even know where the coolant is at" bruh it's on the fucking radiator, looks the same on most vehicles
salesmen "don't forget to break in the engine"
sti guy "lright I got you, break the engine."
🤣
If only they told people how to break it in tho
FBO, was gonna tune it after I get my christmas money in 6 months.
The rear end shocks are bottomed out. You sure it’s got low miles?
Definitely very sure had right at about 5k miles
I have a 2016 wrx and it has 100k on it and runs great subarus are reliable if u take care of them but if u beat the fuck out of them the engines gonna go so fast
Maybe the noise is coming from the brake res
Cylinders blew past the spark plugs and coils
Thats usually what happens when Daddy buys little Timmy a car that he doesn't know how to treat and drive.
Well atleast its got that subie rumble now 😂😂😂
I have one at nearly 60 and it still doesn’t seem like it’s going bad. Still issue indeed.
I knew they messed up when the last words were “I don’t even know where the coolant is at”
The “i oo ee no weiw coowent aa” at the end of the video says at all
the owner probably thrashed it before the engine had a chance to warm up lol
He wasn't extremely hard on it but also wasn't easy on it either
It's owners like this that give bad rep to Subaru's. In reality, if you care for your car, it won't break down or blow a motor.
New Subarus aren't like oldest models used to be..
Considering the mileage, I bet the proper break in driving wasn’t done considering it’s a piston problem, probably was beat on before it had a chance to seat properly.
A car is only as good as it’s owner… idc what defects it has known. Some of the worst cars in the world still run because their owner knows how to maintain and operate the car.
That’s called ring lend, so to 5,000 miles wasn’t normal driving, the owner drove it hard till the pistons blew
It did have a Decent amount of highway miles but yeah he did treat it like a sports car which is what they claimed it is not?
