I love vintage and have many pieces. On the one hand it's great that vintage is back, but for us folks that shop mainly pre-loved and vintage, the prices have jumped so much 😬 Congrats on getting such a good deal - that design looks very versatile and functional. I'm also not so into the Dior saddle bag, but I do have several trotter pieces in other styles (clutches and a Boston bag), and at the very least I know I got great deals on those bags 😀
I'm all for the vintage Gucci resurgence. I'd be all over those pieces if I found something in good condition. I'm also a big fan of the vintage inspired Ophidia line. I was so lucky to buy a pre-loved card case that was almost unused for a great price.
I buy vintage bags via EBay Authenticate service and it takes all the anxiety out of getting a quality authentic item. I bought a fendi baguette, two Gucci Boston bags and a DIOR Saddle bag from that service and they were all under 300 dollars. I was so excited to see the new collections relaunch those bags. I felt like I had won the lottery. I agree that you should always just buy what you love and if it comes back on trend then it’s a bonus! I looked at that same bag that you have and almost pulled the trigger on it but they were selling it for over 500 dollars which was over my budget. I ended up getting the Boston bag instead because it fit more with my style. It’s a beautiful bag though, Congratulations!
I ordered 4 new vintage pieces this month! I bought a vintage Gucci clutch, bucket bag, and two dior bags, all 4 together is less than $600! I was so happy and excited about it! I know 3 of the items for sure are authentic but the Gucci bucket bag, im in the process of authenticating it! I’m really loving the vintage come back I never thought I would be one of the people that loved vintage!

Tionie I wish I had an easy answer for you.. it’s all about knowing what to look for. I use to own a brick & mortar resale store and I resell online. You have to develop an eye for it & honestly sometimes I get burned with fakes(that’s when using your CC protects your purchases) If you want the deals, Ebay etc you have to train your eye on what to look for. It’s much easier in person to spot fakes, online is a whole nother beast! I hope this helps...

I’m so jealous that you got that for half the price I paid for mine on eBay! I got carried away on auction but outside was in EUC, inside was powdery and reeked with perfume smell. I was going to use your method when you cleaned your first Gucci but I was scared I was going to wet the straps so I sent it off to my gobbler to clean the inside which was another $75. Overall I still saved over $1k buying preloved. Can’t wait to see what’s your next vintage purchase seeing we have the same taste.😀
Oh yes finally someone knew about this amazing bag. I scored the same vintage one from eBay of course $225 in May, and really enjoying it. In the vintage one you have the option to reduce the strap and wear it in your shoulder, love love love. Thanks for sharing beautiful.

I have been looking at the new retail version of this bag and I can't decide whether I'd want to splurge on a new bag! I just can't decide if the "old" odor would bug me.
It took a few tries to get rid of it, but I also bought this for a tiny fraction of the price. The new ones are lined with satin and don’t have the microfiber. Also the strap is longer and not adjustable in the same way. Personally, I prefer the short strap, but I don’t wear much crossbody!

You are soooo correct on the Dior Saddle Bag. I resell for a living and I've seen them as low as 30$ and now they are 3K literally overnight. Crazy.
