With unique illustrations by famous artists like Mitsuhiro Arita and Naoki Saitou, they're the target of every Pokemon card collector. But which one is the best of them all? With so many cards to find, and the pull rates for Alternate Arts being so low in Booster Boxes, they're some of the rarest and most valuable cards out there. Nothing beats finding them in a Booster Pack!

I totally get your Umbreon choices. Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't automatically love a card *just* because it's Umbreon / Charizard / Mewtwo.

When I first saw this vid, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Zeraora and why you put it in S tier. But now, it’s probably in my top 5 special arts and I don’t see it moving any time soon! Thank you for the video!! I keep coming back to this! :)
Wonderful list! and thank you for putting the empoleon v and celebi v so high up! Oh and the jolteon vmax it's so coollll. admittedly i might have switched the umbreons around (since im waaay more partial to teeziro and i just like the art a bit more lol, and funny enough im not even big on umbreon tbh. more of a flareon person but anyways rAMBLIMG aside lol) as per usual though-- amazing video! :D

@27:39 - You put Rayquaza Vmax Art into B tier?! Are you OUT of your mind?? That card is beautiful beyond words, you didn't have the physical card in your hand so you have NO idea, really! And the online JPEG image didn't do its beauty justice! Trust me, put it back to S or A tier! That is the reason why so many people are so crazy about this card (and no, it's NOT over-hyped), that even though so many sellers are selling online, the demand is still keeping up.

I totally agree. It’s my favourite alt art so far and it was my chase card ever since the set released and I was so god damn happy out of my mind when I pulled it yesterday. The card is one of the most stunning cards I’ve ever seen in person

I’m sure you’ve noticed by now - I mean the video is nearly 2 years old - but around the 20:52 mark you say the card (Duraludon V) is illustrated by Naoki Saito, which is correct, but the graphic on screen says Mitsuhiro Arita.

A few months ago I owned all of these cards at once. Me and my girlfriend put all these cards side by side to choose our faves and there are clear winners... Rayquaza Vmax, shadow rider Vmax and celebi v.
Rayquaza Vmax and shadow rider are just beautiful in person, pictures really don't do them justice, Rayquaza just pops out of the picture with the stunning background behind him and shadow rider is just glittery and magical looking, same as celebi v.
Sold alot of our collection now to fund other things but still got the Rayquaza Vmax alt art in a Beckett black label as well!
I just recently pulled Glaceon V and Duraludon V as my first 2 alt arts from the same booster box. Glad to see you love both those cards! lol

Really nice video, I share mostly the same opinion as you, wouldn't have much difference with my tier list if I made one. Especially about the rayquaza Vmax which I also think is overhyped compared to the V which is way better. For me, the alternate arts must tell a story to be a nice card, the Vmax doesn't tell a thing. I would just have put the Golurk a bit higher since it gives me some Laputa vibes, which I think was some kind of reference and since I grew up watching this movie a lot with my brother, this card just reminds me of my childhood.
The Umbreon Vmax is also my least favorite Vmax from Eevee Heroes because the card just feel nice on paper, like when you take a photo and put the Eiffel Tower on your hand, it works because it's a photo but the Eiffel Tower isn't really on your hand. It's the same with Umbreon, on the art it's pretending to want to touch the moon but if you think about perspective, the Umbreon is just watching the starry sky and the moon isn't at all where it's looking or pointing at. (I think I thought too hard about this one xD)

Hey man, thank's for your amazing content, you are a blessing for a japanese collector. I'm wondering something, how do you identify when a card is a special art ? Is there any specific thing in the card ? I mean in the sets it's pretty straightforward but for the promos I don't understand. Why Celebi V is a special art but not the many full art pikachu promos, or even the Hoopa and Charizard EX from XY promos ? Thank's !
Great question! Basically, check the artist of the card. Full Art SR or HR cards are usually illustrated by 5ban Graphics or other collaborative art teams, and generally use a pretty familiar 3D art style. Special Arts have a 'hand drawn' feel and are illustrated by many, many different artists. Hope that helps!

You have to see the Ray Vmax alt art in hand. From the artwork I agree with you but this texture and glitter makes it a better looking card

I think its totally fine to have that many S and A tier alternative Artworks. For me they should be the pinnacle of artwork and many of them deliver.
I have only Empoleon and Glaceon VMAX in my alternate art collection but galarian zapdos v and rapid strike urshifu vmax are the most gorgeous alt art i have ever seen

I agree with everything you said and my list is reallyyy similar to yours except for the Rapidash V. I think it's soooo gorgeous it's the first Special Art single I've bought because I don't think I'm ever gonna pull it.
Haha trust me I know I've made a lot of Rapidash fans unhappy, but I had to make some cuts here and there.

Glad to see someone loving that Duraludon with Raihan alt art. It's probably one of the cheapest rare cards from the set, but it's my fav for sure. Just ordered it today, can't wait to get it :3 I also love the normal Rayquaza V a lot more than the Vmax version. Nice list!

This is a thoughtful list with a good mix of personal opinion and a subjective look of the art styles and detail. I personally love the Noivern V alt art (really glad I pulled it from a booster box) because it shows the Pokemon living in the world and kinda tells a story at the same time. I tend to like the art that accentuates the Pokemon living in a detailed environment.
Yo mate! Appreciate the feedback, I tried to be as reasonable and practical as possible. It's actually quite difficult to pick and choose between them haha. I definitely vibe with you, I love it when the card makes the Pokemon feel alive.

Only thing I disagree with is the eveelutions. I feel as though flareon and jolteon v should have higher placement. Might be biased cause I have and love those cards but I agree with the vaporeon placement and I respect yo opinion my guy. No hate👊

That one, I forgot what it’s called, hold on it will come to me, it’s that really cool one, it’s shiny and textured, it’s got a blue border on the back and says Pokémon, it’s mostly made of cardboard, it’s coming to me now, the card is square with rounded edges, oh yeah! I got it! It’s...the one that some nerd is gonna pay me the most after I immediately post it for sale after taking it out of the pack. So...the most valuable one? Yeah, definitely the one I can sell for the most money. Or, if I don’t have the most expensive one for sale atm. Then whatever other one(s) I have listed for sale on TCGPlayer. Ooowww ahhhh!
