  • In this episode of ‘Fly on the Wall’ Jeffro catches up with one of the most stylish and charismatic racers of all time, Ron ‘Dogger’ Lechien. From bursting onto the scene as a southern California hot shot through to representing America and leading them to victory at the Motocross des Nations Ron talks candidly about his career….or at least the stories that we could actually make public! A true natural talent who has lived a rock n’ roll lifestyle, there’s not many like the Dogger! Enjoy.

    Ron Lechien is the man.
His style of riding the bike was so unique, you could tell it was him from 100 yards away.

#224 with the Yammie OW125 and #9 with Kawie 250SR are my favorite years of RL! 🤙🏻🇺🇸

Probably the most naturally talented motocross racer in history, since Jett Lawrence. The comparisons are hard to avoid…when young Ron Lechein started kicking ass on everyone at 16 years old, bearing a 3 digit number plate, he became a generation’s hero. I know he was mine and I think I’m about the same age!

You are going to let a Pommy, (Hey, I got it from "The Worlds Fastest Indian",and looked it up, hehe.) interview you before the Whiskey Throttle Show? :)
I figured out how Ron and JMB got so smooth and fast with out the outside stuff training. When they got tired, they figured they were doing something wrong, and figured it out.
I would say the racers today spend too much time with the "snake oil salesmen of the science of the body", but then on the redundant FIM dictated tracks today where so many are the same speed, (because they all have the track wired, after racing it for a decade.), just would not make much difference no mater what you do.
I miss the sport from when we owned it.
Saw Ronnie smoke em at Pontiac on a Sunday night, (87?). Ronnie! You should have seen how fast you were that night. I bet you didn't get tired. :)

Don't tell him I said that.
