I really enjoyed this video. I'm amazed that you can frame pictures while wobbling all around with swells and looking through a viewfinder. I was feeling queasy watching the video in 2D. We head over to Catalina out of Dana Point quite a bit and I'm always fascinated by the bird life. I hope to dig in harder on my bird identification in future trips.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! Yeah it was so hard to get a decent video shot because of all the swaying and bumping. I hope you enjoy your next trip to Catalina!
Wow! So cool! I love how you slowed down the motion into a still shot so we can see better! Great work! I love the Colorado one you did too! Just watched it the other day.
So interesting to come across this video, if this was the 9/19 trip, I was on that boat! Everything was generally familiar, but the key reminder was the lone, somewhat shabby northern fulmar. Too bad I missed the chance to connect in person and thank you for all your videos. I recommend the Pelagic trip as well.
Always wondered how many species might be seen on those trips, that was a good selection. I’ve been out fishing many times from those landings, had to give it up, pretty week stomach on my part.
Good editing, liked the zoom in on the birds for a great id.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! So many of those birds would be lifers. Love the wing pattern on Sabine's Gull. I saw my first (3!) last year on Lake Erie.
Thanks for watching! Yeah pretty much all of the palagic birds were lifers for me. It was a great trip!

Thanks for watching! Yes I was on the 9/19 trip. I was mostly downstairs until the way back I went on top for a little bit. I really enjoyed it!

Yeah it is rough on the stomach for sure. Thanks for watching!
Did you have an ebird checklist? I was just curious about the total amount of species and such. Great vid!
Thanks for watching! Yes my ebird is Everett.
Too bad u couldn’t get them to land on the boat young man😎. I will have to do a pelagic some day🤞🏻
Thanks for watching!
Great birds but I feel a bit sea-sick now !
I know! The video footage was bumpy. I wasn't sure if I should post the video because it was so hard to capture the birds with a still shot.
Super awesome! What cruise service did you use? I would love to go! They sounded super helpful in finding and identifying birds!
Thanks for watching! I went with seaforth.fishingreservations.net/sdwhales/
@@TheBirdingVoyage Awesome! Thank you so much for replying!
