The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF; French: Forces armées canadiennes, FAC) are the unified military forces of Canada, including sea, land, and air elements referred to as the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, and Royal Canadian Air Force.
Personnel may belong to either the Regular Force or the Reserve Force, which has four sub-components: the Primary Reserve, Supplementary Reserve, Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service, and the Canadian Rangers. Under the National Defence Act, the Canadian Armed Forces are an entity separate and distinct from the Department of National Defence (the federal government department responsible for the administration and formation of defence policy), which also exists as the civilian support system for the forces.
The Canadian Armed Forces are a professional volunteer force that consists of approximately 68,000 active personnel and 27,000 reserve personnel, with a sub-component of approximately 5,000 Canadian Rangers. The armed forces currently has over 3,000 personnel deployed overseas in multiple operations, such as Operation Snowgoose in Cyprus, Operation Unifier supporting Ukraine, Operation Caribbe in the Caribbean Sea, and Operation Impact as part of military intervention against ISIL.
The command-in-chief of the Canadian Armed Forces is constitutionally vested in the monarch, Charles III, who is represented by the governor general (or the administrator). The professional head of the organization is the chief of the Defence Staff, who under the direction of the minister of national defence and together with the assistance of the Armed Forces Council, manages the operations of the Canadian Armed Forces. In 2021, Canada's military expenditure totalled approximately $26.4 billion, or around 1.3 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

F*** you. You slow killing pieces of s***
I can’t watch this without cringing
Yeah 100 2a8Leopards and 100 CV90 and 100 mobile artillery system should be a minimum in the next 5 years oh i forgot 40 brand new frigate .The 88 f-35 should arrive in 2040 or something !
I think being a formidably equipped ground force is something we should strive for continuously, we don't ever want to lose this capability, while there is still good training doctrine and infrastructure to keep our soldiers in the game. But I think air assets should be priority and pilot training and incentive, as this is another thing in the CAF and RCAF that is fading but is probably the biggest deterrent of any opposing military that doesn't have the ICBM card, i mean aside from a nuclear submarine fleet with both hunter killer and ballistic capability. It's tough because there are so many tiers of defense that are needed when talking about peer 2 peer confrontation and so many more advantages a larger peer has to negate them. First step is to stop politicizing military procurement and stop using it as a political platform, it is destroying our capabilities. They need to start combing our Heathcare system like they do with the military, the massive expenditure that is failing, im not saying get rid of it because when it does, it helps Canadians, but there is clearly a bloat, yet a severe lack of care. Especially if the US becomes isolationist, there will be more wars with even bigger stakes in the near future if there is no formidable deterrent.@@davidlefranc6240
they're begging for an invasion and rely too much on the usa xD
And exactly how many actually run , stripped for parts , NFG or NS .... 17 Hawk trainers made me spit out my coffee , try 7 and they are sitting at a municiple airport in Collingwood Ont rotting
All we have are brooms and hockey sticks thank you comrade Trudeau .
Harper is responsible too !
@@davidlefranc6240 BS Justin .
We? Yeah right
@@davidlefranc6240you're right about that
you need an education in my lifetime your beloved neocons( after 1961) have bought a total of 4 aop's , ordered two replenishment ships and 80 tanks. that is that. Since 2019 the current government has ordered 15 warships , 88 new f-35's , 16 new maritime patrol a/c, 9 new mrtt tanker/vip (1) A330's and numerous smaller items. playing a childs game doesn't work with anyone paying attention.
Our navy only 12 frigates and 22 littoral smaller vessels, which are severely underarmed for even self-protection.
Effectively, our navy is rapidly approaching a mirror image of 1939ish war denial.
The New Type 26 frigate is a very good replacement for the Old girls.
@@robandcheryls Theoretically they will be bigger and better than the ones we have now, the problem being that we don't start getting them till 2026.
The new Type 26 frigates will jump us to the present. 🇨🇦 Vet
As an American all I can say is that Poland has 220 Leopards and Canada has 82? WTH? Poland just ordered 1250 more tanks. Why buy anything when America will defend you!
@@stanleynowak9325 that's the ruling liberal ideal...
No shame, I served for over 24 years, been embarrassed many times internationally...
Thank you, I appreciate the presentation. 🇨🇦 Veteran
Well this is horrifically embarrassing.
WOW, sure are a lot of different types of aircraft in the Canadian Air Fore with other countries livery on them...
The new 303 rifles will be in next week !
Haha
Omg…. Embarrassing. My dad worked on the CF 18 hornets 30 years ago. He’s almost 80…. Just like these “fighter aircraft”.
dummy we have used c7 and c8 rifles for a very long time the insult is typically idiotic
Love this Content!
Wag the Dog: 130 generals & admirals yet virtually no high end A class battlefield goodies. This country is upside down regarding its military priorities.
get an education about why. Ever wonder why the German army was able to create such a large army in such short order ? you maintain your officer corps in case you need to grow very quickly if the threat reappears
@alpearson9158 sure a bunch of useless.nerds who let this branch of service weaken. Next war will not be like WW1, WW2, when one has the luxury of weeks for Atlantic crossing of troop ships. Next war, there won't be any time to refit weak naval vessels, Quebec City or Halifax. Look at littoral fleets, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Russia, then u will see the disparity staring into your face. Our present officer corps is too busy memorizing 42 acceptable pronun table from university of Wisconsin or learning spy talk for Canadian tick in the box.
THANK Pierre Elliot Trudeau! Demolished Canadian forces! Thank the liberal party!
We're in trouble.
Me: That's just a large civilian utility vehicle.
Then, that's a humvee. And that's literally a toyota minvan.
Are these all just rebranded civilian vehicles?
This could have been done in 1 minutes 30 seconds. When they say 48.... They mean 12 functioning. 112 means....27 functioning.
The Canadian Army should buy some Bradley’s to complement the Leopards ,but replace the 25mm with the 30mm
Ez pz
Lav 6 has the 30mm
@@irtazaazam2573 Oh yeah on the 6.0 variant or the LAV 700?
@@irtazaazam2573No, the LAV 6 has a 25mm M242 Bushmaster cannon.
@christopher9000p yeah, you're right. My bad for the misinfo
The LAV ACSV Super Bison you showed was the actual LAV6
Don't Forget no cooks sent......
Talk about a cursory skimming of about 1/4 of the equipment in the CF and Btw we have 8 harry dewolf class 4 of which are completed and 4 in varying stages of completion
Nope that's about accurate. Look at the shit outdated armour, ridiculous amounts of it, and you're pretending half the shit is even deployable.
Our entire military = 4 bad days in Ukraine ...
Somehow we managed to last for six bad years from 1939-45. Put over a million men into uniform and crushed the bad guys. The countries we liberated still send us flowers every spring. Yes, we can do it again if we have to. Let us pray that we never have to.
@@kevinlove4356 No we can't, back then ramping up was easy, the US and Canada cannot do that now. If we went to war with Russia now, we would last a few days then we are spent. We need to change our ways and build simple reliable weapons at home and just build them day in and day out. And most important of all is keep the corporate hedgefund vampires away from all things defence.
You know we trained the Ukrainian soldiers right?
@ashblatzooka1443 boy, that worked out really great, didn't it.
@@ledzepandhabs you do realize how big of a military Russia is right? lol doesn’t matter how much training they have Russia is a military superpower

- LAV ACSV don't have turret.
I could swear that there is at least 50 hary dewolf class

It’s not the generals it’s our fucking joke of a government 🇨🇦🏴☠️
@@Peter-qt1ol8gi3h I just finished watching an F-16 video. It's a very effective aircraft. That explains why Canada didn't procure a single one.

We Don't Have Enough Personel To Operate The Equipment. I Am A Vet From The 70's. Shit Has Not Changed For 30 +Yrs.
When Canada doesnt go to war theres an obvious reason why and sadly everyone knows it. The other sad thing is Canada dosent like to send new troops over seas main reason why u will see over 50000 soldiers in Canada but less then 500 in an operation. I dont know why the government does this we can easily have 2000 to 4000 troops over seas if they did.
we do @@ThePhantom712

Mandatory 2yr service after High School would solve the personnel shortage.
They live in a bad neighbourhood, what is your point? Plus, 90 % of what they own was given to them or heavily subsidized. They can't afford the forces they have without a lot of help @@ryszardfalkowski7917
F-35A is the cheapest and practically outdated F-35 on the market, a block1 platform.
I suppose it was the only one the Yanks would give us !
block C is the desired platform.
DML.
Canada is getting the Block 4, the newest run of the F-35. The A vatiant is the normal one. The B and C variants are VTOL and Carrier variants respectively. Learn what the letter variants mean idiot.
What are you talking about? Are you refering to the F-35C, which is a carrier variant (which we don't need), or Block 3 or Block 4, which is totally different reference altogether?
