- Having a stacked monitor layout is very popular and so I thought I'd try it out and give you my thoughts and opinions.
"Does it hurt your neck?"
That is probably one of the most asked questions about this layout.
Personally, yes, it does hurts my neck. However, I am very tall. If you are a shorter person then I'd probably recommend this if you really envy this layout.
I also have to say that if you really want this for the aesthetic only, you need to have identically sized monitors otherwise, in my case especially, it looks weird and kind of ruins the whole point of it.
I have a 27inch and a 24inch so they don't line up properly.

This video is incredible! You've clearly become a master at both video techniques and computer set-up!
Nice!! Setup looks clean you defiantly got vision
Good job on the videos. Keep it up!
Nice video, very informative. Was cosidering stacked for a while but you've thrown me off now. Gonna stick with side by side just gonna have to get a monitor arm for them now. Great content keep it up
Thank you and glad I helped you realize it's not the best.
I rock this setup with two ultrawides (flat 40" on top and curved 32" on bottom) and I think it works better since kinda add up to be more like a square - you don't have to move your eyes as far. But having a deeper desk and sitting further from your monitors definitely helps too.
Good vid though! Had it recommended on my homepage. Maybe record closer to your mic and/or do some post processing to get rid of the reverb in your room for extra editing points
Yeah, lots of people stack ultrawides and it makes a lot more sense.
Thank you! The room I'm in is the living room with a vaulted ceiling so there's nothing I can really do. Will get a mic for my camera in the near future since right now I'm just using the built-in one.
damn this is genius gonna get me the same monitor mount, I use two separate monitor mounts
This review is better than 99% of what I have seen here in YT about dual setups. Thanks 🙏
Thank you! I like to be more realistic as I am an average person unlike most CZcamsrs which get all those sponsors and stuff.
I just went with stacked few days ago. The reason so I can have more desk space and put my speakers on the sides and I can watch movies while chilling on the floor, I can put the speakers before too but it's like behind the monitor. I
Also I think it's good to look up sometimes, so I don't slouch everytime and get that turtle neck.. we rarely look up guys..
Yeah, we don't look up often but that can make it more painful over time since we rarely do it. I'm not willing to take the risk of hurting my neck more.
ur videos are amazing but I think it would be more amazing if u did a voice-over when ur installing
How's the stacking setup experience so far? Coz currenly im on dual side by side and im thinking on stack setup, but im concern on monitoring on the secondary monitor. as it may cause viewing discomfort over long period.
I have since switched back to side by side (which should tell you most of what you want to know), but as I stated in the video, I wouldn't recommend it for comfort.
I don't think it looks that bad and I also pay a lot of attention to aesthetics. I currently use an 38 inch ultrawide in the middle and 2 27 inches stacked on the left side.
I agree with you.
Dang that's a sick setup (jealous!!)
can we see your setup?
Im planning getting a 32 inch monitor, and a LG vertical secondary monitor on the left side..im tall but i think left and right (vertical + horizontal) is the best bet as well!
For sure! Vertical as a secondary is amazing and saves so much space!
I plan to (when OLED gaming monitors are not as expensive as they are) get an OLED monitor and then have a "Tie-fighter" monitor layout. (Two vertical on either side and a main horizontal in the middle)
Should I try it when I have a 15.6 inch laptop and 24 inch monitor on a small desk
If you're using the laptop below and as a keyboard, then yes, try it!
Isnt it possible to get a stacked layout with that first mount?
No, that's why I had to get a new one.
i tryed stacked layout it hurt my neck i even had a stand up desk . also i need a new mount maybe i need one like yours gass arms so i can change the position when ever i want i using a vivio vertical stand now it only stationary meaning it can only do vertical unless i get arms attachments for it witch i might
Yeah, it really hurt my neck too. I can understand what you mean by the stationary mounts, those aren't great.
Mind sharing the astronaut wallpaper?
Sure thing! The name is "Spaceship Earth" and it's on Wallpaper Engine.

4:20 "You can't glance when u have it side x side."
Boy, what crack rock are u smoking? 😂
Anyway, after testing both configurations myself, I found the stacked orientation (even tho the most symmetric) to be the most uncomfortable for viewing. Sometimes I had to squint eyes upwards or raise my chair to see certain things clearly...VERY ANNOYING! I'll be going back to side x side monitor setup.
I guess what I meant is it just doesn't feel the same and is unnatural lol.
Yeah, the exact same thing for me for stacked.
