  • The Multi-Part Sternguard Veterans kit is here and it is a dream to build and paint. These are some proper serious looking Space Marines with an excellent array of components and a massive amount of fun to build and paint. It's also the beginnings of a Salamanders Task Force I wish to add to my Space Marines collection and it's thanks to Games Workshop for sending me these guys early that I'm able to do exactly that!

    As someone who hates painting Salamanders skin, watching you put Ratling Grime and it looking perfect was insane

    Perfect scheme! I'm thinking to paint my Leviathan marines as Salamanders after much deliberation!

    Ok, apart from the fact that this Video will help A LOT at finally getting my salamanders painted, that Flag just turned out inhumanly great, big props for that, gotta say I'm jealous and part tempted to try it myself

    Ordered 2 of these and a jump captain on Saturday. The fact there’s a bunch of extra bits left over that I can use for making “hero” marines for, say, kill team or combat patrol makes me exceptionally happy. Though seeing that the multi part marines have the crux on their shoulder while the push fit from leviathan don’t is rather annoying.
    All hail the combi weapons!

    Your videos persuaded me to start a Tyranid army and now I’m collecting Salamanders. Please stop painting superb looking models with such easy to follow guides 😂 Another excellent video.

    Just want to say thank you. as after watching all your salamander painting schemes and just reading their lore I'm not going into them as an army, down side is that is pouring down by me so can't prime them yet XD

    I never thought about laying one contrast green over another 😅
    Would this also work on vehicles? I'd like to copy the green for my ork armour (my orks are red skinned 😂) and I'd love to paint my battle wagon this green

    I know this is a Salamanders video but I'd like to say that the Karandras Green on its own looks ideal for Sons of Medusa.
    I know i say it a lot so it's probably tedious at this point but awesome job. Even models I'm probably not going to buy, I love seeing your work and a almost always learn something new to add to my skillset.

    They look great, any suggestions on how to fix things when I inevitably get the wrong colour on the green? The flat panels always make me nervous about fixing mistakes.

    • @gdmunn83
      @gdmunn83 Před 11 měsíci +2

      That's always the problem with using contrast on flat panels. Probably have to touch up with citadel standard acrylic paint that matches the colour of the contrast version. I can't even get the original coat of contrast on flat panels to ever look as smooth as warhipster does

    • @echoechoecho7142
      @echoechoecho7142 Před 11 měsíci

      Yeah as the other comment said, thats the contrast paint issue, repairing mistakes is just painstaking. If you get black on the green, then reapply apply the prime coat color on the messed up green and re-apply the green, its just looks different and sticks out like a sore thumb.. So odd. Id probably paint the black first, then slowly and carefully as I could fix any green on black errors with black that covers it up perfect.

    • @echoechoecho7142
      @echoechoecho7142 Před 11 měsíci

      As per your last sentence, be either, no mater what I do. Different amounts of paints on the brush, medium experimenting to thin them, speed at which I paint, it looks like crap on any panel I paint. My love/hate relationship with contrast paints cant be understated ;) @@gdmunn83

    • @ag578glaup5
      @ag578glaup5 Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@gdmunn83 Maybe try this : take a size 3 or 4 brush , load it with a lot of paint (should see a drop) then just apply this big drop on the flat panel section. There is now too much contrast paint on that panel but with a clean littre brush you absorb the excess where it pools. Is way easier than Warhipster method which relies on great brush control and with a a few attemps you should get a better result.
