I’ve fitted maybe 30 of these over the last 18 months I personally love them it’s easy to fit with the jig, love the rear piping options even more so now the plate would be easy to remove from the front, plug in Worcester controls another well thought out time saver, user display is really good especially for installer options, prv as you said street elbow and a coupling fits perfectly 👍 easily my favourite to install from the Worcester range

Hi Allen, just installed 3 worcester 2000, very similar to the 4000 in three flat. I turned the KW heating output down to suit. As in the Benchmark you need to add if you alter it and to what. The landlord then checked the booklet, asked what reason I did this, and told me to put it back up as the tenants would then need to run the boiler for longer.
He also watched me do it so he could check it after I left.

Thought I’d found the perfect video in yours, then all of a sudden when you’ve got a tape in your hand about to measure, the frame skips!! 😂😂😂 what happened, I’m guessing you bottled it because couldn’t find the exact measurement. 😂

There is a problem on some of these boilers where the rubber flap between the fan and heat exchanger sticks from new. It won't ignite, gives you the fault code for no gas. Worcester said it's an issue with a batch of them and something to do with how they are testing them in their factory but had three of them in last month. The first one I wasted a lot of time investigating. Also hot water issue on the 25kws, if your mains pressure is high it won't heat so Worcester insist on fitting a pressure reducing valve in these situations. Thanks Alan.

    • @jamesrob81
      @jamesrob81 Před rokem +1

Yes on the 4000, they said that when they are testing them in factory they are not letting them overrun so condensation is sitting on the flap and sticking it shut, you only have to push it open to unstick but I was thinking if this could happen if the boiler was out of use in someone's house e.g on holiday etc

I have a question for Allen and the community. I am on the lookout for a new combi-boiler suitable for a flat. It is a 2 bed, 1 Bathroom. I plan to box it into a kitchen cupboard (Which will most likely need customisation to cater for the boiler). Flue needs to exit to the right-hand side of the boiler from the wall I plan for it to be on. I want something reliable and easy to work on for gas technicians when required. What would people recommend? I have a Vaillant on another property and although I was initially pleased I have the dreaded leaking flu which I believe is a design flaw in the Vaillant range and the warranty aftercare was awful. Could anyone recommend a boiler?

Hi Allen, loving your honest approach to reviews etc, was wondering if I could ask some advice - currently have an old Ideal Icos that has died and just about to replace but having problems finding a boiler that seems like it would be powerful enough. Old boiler is an Ideal Icos He36 (37kw) with Oso indirect 250L unvented tank. I wanted to go Viessmann after your review but seems like they only do 32kw, failing that I was looking at Bosch 8000 40kw. House is 3 floors plus fitted out basement, 4 beds, 1 bath (shower + bath) and 2 ensuites (1 shower + 1shower and bath), there are 25 radiators in the property. Any advice on what to go for would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, got a question. Not sure whether to go for the Greenstar 4000 30KW or 8000 30KW. It is being supplied by council due to using a first time central heating grant. I have been offered the 8000 as an optional upgrade. House is an extended 3 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms - 8 radiators in total. Both bathrooms are powered by thermostatic showers so will be using the hot water from the boiler. As I only have 8 radiators, would the 8000 be an overkill and waste gas? Or would it automatically adjust the power needed to heat the house?

The installer interface is great, setting the boiler up for maximum efficiency. The price is something we are coming away from WB for. Margins are something we need to consider closely, 10yr on the 4000 and 12 on the 8000, price dose not justify the difference for the consumer or installer.

We fit a lot of the 4000 and 8000 .
The worst things are the PRV connection what is it with the little rubber washer always popping out . and trying to do up the nut .
The washers for all the service pipework.
You have to fit the washers first then install the boiler.they sometimes fall off .
The weight of the boilers .
Esp the 8000 reminds me of the first gen CDI .But at least you can remove all the panels when installing the boiler.
And the built in filling loop on the 8000 . that's a pain to use.
And the digital pressure gauge for the customer to use .no where near as accurate.
Apart from that they are good boilers.and they look swish in a kitchen.

@ 10:50 after several decades of rubber hoses that get clogged with deposits, I also think you'll be happy when they also decide to surrender and put a rigid connection to the expansion vessel :))))
personally, after a few thousand serviced boilers, I have not encountered a single clogged rigid connection regardless of the diameter of the pipe from which it was made....
You are very soft with the criticism on Bosch after all the years of pain and dirty hands from their clogged hoses 😂
The approach from the video from another guy on CZcams is what they deserve :
Just search Urban Plumbers - Viessmann, is this why we could never get along
And have fun. If you dont have the time for the full video just watch from 13:00 ahead… ;)

@@AllenHart999 I have seen almost all your videos :). however, I prefer boilers with a stainless steel heat exchanger ex: baxi ;) ... but the model in this clip is built acceptably honestly.. ps I recommend you to view the interpretation from "urban plumbers" about viessmann :p
