- We had an unexpected sea day due to the damage on Castaway Cay from hurricane Dorian. The island got tropical storm force winds which cause some damage to the island. We finally tried out the Detective Agency which is an interactive hunt to crack the case! This is a MUST DO for all ages! This is a great way to explore the ship while the kids have some fun. We also went to the princess gathering that they offer throughout the cruise. We recommend getting reservations before your cruise. It was a very popular event! I also love that you were so upbeat and positive but also shared the circumstances that were out of your controle but were not perfect, yet you didn't let them interfere with you making the most of your trip.
Going off what Southern Granna posted, I think Disney needs to have The Neverland Family on their media list! They are fronting the money to give us great content and I have learned a lot from their videos! Especially the magic at the resorts... I would have never know about if it weren’t for them! Plus, our kids relate to their kids and which helps us parents in planning our Disney trip!! Anyone else agree??

Southern Granna I do agree with that. I wish they would have told us prior to the cruise so we could have maybe rescheduled to a different cruise. We were told that we weren’t going to Castaway as we were leaving Nassau :( we just have to keep filling our cruise jar

Southern Granna I agree big time!!! Disney needs to give kuddos to this family! They do a lot of the hidden magic that not a lot of people know about. I feel Disney’s media list is a lot of the “non family” IGers or CZcamsrs. I would LOVE to see The Neverland’s at their family events! We should contact them! Disney... I love that you said you had to save for your trip. I am so amazed st the massive number of people who can cruise with Disney 2 and 3 times a year every year. I know sometimes it is just about priorities and how you choose to spend your money, and I'm not putting that down, just jealous, lol. We saved for a couple years for our upcoming trip.

Our boys requested an “only sea days” cruise. We have done 5 DCL cruises (3x7-night, 1x3-night, 1x4-night) and have never run out of activities nor done everything we have wanted to do. A highlight of all our trips was the time they won the Lightning McQueen race where you build a car out of a potato! They still talk about that, over 7 years later!
Unfortunately they have both aged out of the Club/Lab but they are looking forward to the teen club on our next DCL trip.
You’ll be back...I promise! I highly recommend a 7-night. They usually aren’t that much more expensive than the shorter cruises and they are SO much more relaxed!!

You should ask disneycruises nicely if they can help you towards a next cruise because you really want to go to castaway, maybe they can give you a sizeable discount or even a free cruise!
Our Disney cruise was canceled because of Dorian. We were supposed sail Sep2-6th. We were so bummed 🙁 so sad what happened to the islands and understand why we couldn’t go.
+Ash G ugh I felt bad for everyone on that cruise. Started as a two day then canceled. I can see how that would mess with plans big time. This storm was so crazy that Disney probably had no idea what was going to happen the next day

Hi I am planing a land and sea trip with my husband and our son in 2023 thabks to the rona virus... and am courteous as to the children's ages at the time of this trip... my son will be just turning 6 when we do ours and am trying to get a feel for how he will be on a huge ship...
Max was 4 and Ellie was 7 on this cruise :)
