- This one's from the Opeth by Request - Evolution XXX Tour last November where we played one song from each album, voted by the fans. I was really happy to have this song on the setlist it being one of my all-time favorite Opeth songs and also incredibly fun to play live!

Your commitment to staying faithful to the arrangement is SERIOUSLY commendable for such a complex free flowing piece as this. I'm seriously impressed as a drummer of 21 years.

After seeing Opeth live a few times over their career and seeing all their drummer line up changes I have to say you have best touch, approach and technique out of all of them. Well I don't count Gene Hoglan (cause he was just doin' a session).

Hey Waltteri, I'm really loving your drumming in Opeth, but after having heard a lot of your shows from live audience perspectives, I think that you need a heavier ride with a more pronounced bell. Maybe try the Sabian Legacy 22" ride. I just think the current one you have doesn't have enough stick definition and the bell doesn't cut enough.

Only thing i don't like about Opeth now is the vintage drums sound on live shows. The old heavy songs don't match with it. I liked the tighter drums tuning better, at least for shows. On those latest records, that vintage sound is good tho.
yeah, the sounds are just too different. would probably better and easier to ditch the old stuff completely at this point. the old opeth sadly have died long ago anyway.
