It was true then, still true now. Look at Jeffrey Epstein who got away another 10 years to commit the same heinous acts before getting arrested. It’s because he got a federal non prosecution agreement, even AFTER they had enough evidence to convict him, the FIRST time they caught him. He had people in his pockets.
Every crime that sicko committed after that deal was also on them. They should also be in jail, not just Epstein’s female friend Maxwell.

He finally falls back into a sitting position, and then slides backward into the pool. I'm not sure why it's been shown in this truncated fashion nowadays. You know, audiences today probably think villain speeches are getting corny, but they're necessary to make them what they are. Joker, Two-Face, every comic book villain ever, gives a speech of some sort. And Calderone's is more epic than I remember, because I see this certain perspective -- when one kingpin falls, another takes their place, and are generally worse than the last. And with technology constantly evolving, why and how does this even happen? Since the '80s, the underworld has just brought about deadlier drugs and criminals that are more evil. Something just isn't right when you have state-of-the-art forensic, tracking, and facial recognition technology but there's still a criminal underworld. Corruption and greed from those meant to protect us is what it boils down to. That's where we need movie and TV cops like Crockett, Tubbs, Harry Callahan, Hank Voight, among others. Each of them in every city would really be great.

First time I realized Calderone was right about the US government. All the technology, all the resources, only for criminals to be allowed to continue their operations. Tubbs and Crockett realized it at the end of the series as well. Nonetheless, Angelina's screaming is overacting. It felt and looked like it was on repeat, but she instead should've ran to Calderone's body and broke down on the floor. I feel bad that she's in denial because it's her father, but that bit could've been written better.

I actually got into this show as a teen in the 2000s when Crockett's car reminded me of Lance's from GTA Vice City. I'm so glad I played the game to have been... I guess starstruck? By seeing a similarity between 1980s sports cars. But when I was growing up, I don't know, my peers seemed to be more into what our parents grew up with, such as classic rock and older movies. Quite a different tale today. I think that's a lot to do with why shows like this aren't made now. When something like this does come along, it's highly underrated. I just worry they'll reboot this show next. They've already done so with a lot of the classics. I don't understand why they just don't do revivals that are canon, like what they done with Fargo.
