Hi! I just saw the video of KK uncle and I went through the same situation with my eyes in 2022 and I hope to share my experience. I also don't know when/how it happened to me, but recurrent corneal erosion for me started due to dry eyes and for months, every morning when I open my eyes after waking, the epithelium (outermost layer of the cornea) would tear off leaving my eyes sore and extremely painful. Oral Painkilles don't work and eyedrop give only temp relief. Wearing a glass contact lens for a week helped to heal it, but what helped me was an ointment "poly visc". The consistency is like vaseline, but you put it at night before sleep. I did this for few months, and i have not had any issues with my eyes. It helped to heal my epithelium. If I feel like my eyes are dry or about to be dry, due to dehydration or weather conditions- I apply the ointment before sleep. I didn't opt for the surgery options as there is no guarantee for this and epithelium can tear due to any reason. I hope this helps 😊
