I dont really think so cos if he does sapnap's queen jus move to take f6 the the knight,still protecting the bishop and george's queen will still be trapped regardless. It really only delays the inevitable and george will lose a knight for no reason

I don't know if it's just me, but I personally don't really mess with the players being able to talk to each other. I feel like it's better if you could tune in and see what they're thinking and so you can hear the commentators
at this level I think it's just more entertaining this way. Also since it's basically a "celebrity" tournament then it would be really pointless not maximize their communication.

No, his queen blocks the bishop, checking with knight would just throw away his knight and his queen is still just as trapped

I was thinking the same thing. I assume that you're talking about placing the knight on f6, but the queen was guarding the position on f6 if that's what you're talking about, and I don't think that Sapnap would've let him escape the situation by killing his knight with the bishop since he wouldn't have let the chance of George's queen dying go so easily, but there might have been a greater chance for George to attack or trap Sapnap's queen since it would've been in a far more open area. Though, he would've lost his knight along with his queen if he did so. But even so, the real blunder was when George's queen took pawn at 7:07.

@@rossplaysgames7669 if bishop takes bishop then sapnap doesn't have to take back with queen. There's a pawn, and rook guarding it. George's queen is pretty much dead.
