Take a tour with EWN as we go inside one of Johannesburg's maximum security facilities and speak to inmates Kobus Pretorius and Nhlanhla Mlambo on their life behind bars.

it's great to see the DCS portraying such an active role in the holistic indictment of otherwise unproductive individuals. Great initiatives. I'm proud to pay my taxes and contribute towards such actions. I employ mostly ex inmates and I don't regret it.
Damn… that’s actually a really good and insightful point. It’s a catch 22 really. I mean you HAVE to have hope that prisoners won’t come out worse or equal to when they went in.. so free training needs to be accessible. But what to do about the other law abiding citizens…?!

What a difference between this prison & the Kgosi Mampuru prison, which is in a terrible state of disrepair along with many hazards such as leaking water right beside electrical wires, this place is a haven compared to it!! @Tara_P_Rose This is a haven? You got life too easy is why you can talk like this, u need to go live in there and we'll see if you'll be singing the same tune
I have to wonder when a criminal in prison says 'I'm rehabilitated'🤔. Why is the govt not sorting out the gangsterism it makes them not rehabilitable. It's a way of saying continue your criminality behind bars.
Somw of them have belts on. Big mistake, with a belt you can strangle someone or tie the belts together to form a rope. I live near this prison in kyalami and the entrance is wide open it just has a boom and a few guards and the one guard tower has a smashed window.

Most of them the must give them a chance true their own qualification. And true their own family's. Because this people are not easily to changing our self. It's depends on a person. Not simply about to realise a person who can bring more problems.
I don't agree to your thinking Yes they must pay for the crime's but it's also important to help them and change to be a better person so when they leave the prison they don't go back they pick them selves up and have a new life most of these people that go back to prison is because they refused to be help and to be a better person so I think what they are doing is good
