This gripe in my opinion is a very good one. It was submitted by a fellow CZcamsr. I strongly believe that people need to maintain their principles in everything they do life, and respectively, you will in kind be judged by your actions. Our point in this gripe is that people that work in the film and entertainment industry are not what they seem. Not that their industry in particular should be singled out, but that since so many of them have such negative views against guns and gun owners it is only fair that they be open to scrutiny that it brings. I think you'll find that many Hollywood actors and celebrities are indeed hypocrites with an agenda against gun ownership in general. It's possible that they have an elitist view to gun ownership and they feel that only the rich and powerful should own guns. Whatever your view your comments are welcome below.

The Predator scene is showing the worthlessness of guns against the Predator, not in general. The fight in Predator is a return to primitive techniques to kill in a traditional, warrior-like style. It's not anti-gun, it's pro-wooden log to the chest.
+Harri Twigg Well, guns are pretty useless when you can't see your target because it has a cloaking device. They do hit the predator with a single bullet though.

The funny thing is, in almost every movie I've seen in recent memory, a gun or a weapon has been a solution to the protagonist's problems with evil characters.

Michael Rooker is another Pro-gun actor, picked it up as a hobby while filming Tombstone.
The point of the scene in Predator was that guns were useless against the Predator specifically because he was just so far ahead of us technologically and also has way better tactics than us. The whole movie is basically a Vietnam parallel about the mighty US being humbled by a foe who can blend into his environment and use the land more effectively. The anti-gun message is more equivalent to "don't bring a pistol to a laser fight"

Aliens also mirrored the same 'Vietnam' parallel theme. A whole squad of heavily armed, and supposedly well trained soldiers that were completely overrun and wiped out by highly evasive, cunning creatures that used the environment to their advantage.

Don't know if anyone mentioned, but Quentin Tarantino is probably the biggest of Hollywood hypocrites. He directed the "Kill Bill" series, did "Dusk til Dawn", Pulp Ficion and many others; some of the most violent and gun filled movies of recent years. Yet he publicly denounces personal rights of gun ownership of any type of firearm. What an ass.
Frankly he's a fucken idiot, and despised his movies.

It's easy for Celebrities to say negative things about firearms and people who own firearms, they can afford bodyguards, security systems, etc., what about the rest of us?! what do you do if you can't afford and/or can't have any of that?!. Those people know absolutely nothing about firearms. They make millions and millions of dollars on and off of the glorification of violence. Practice What You Preach!!!!!!!!!. If they like guns, great, if they don't, that's okay, but don't try to tell us what we need, what should have, what we should use, and how to do it. They act, we live, two totally different things. They can take their money and their egos and shove it straight where the sun doesn't shine. A "famous" person can't shoot someone in the head/face with a full auto machine gun using a 100 round belt/drum in a movie and then tell us that we can't use a semi auto AR-15 using a twelve, fifteen or twenty round magazine to protect ourselves, our family/friends, our homes/property, etc. The Second Amendment says the Right of the people, that doesn't mean and/or say "certain" people, "wealthy" people or "famous" people. People means everyday regular people.
It's crazy how all these gripes have just gotten more accurate over time

Dominic Duran I really don't think a kid can concealed a firearm in school because they can be the most responsibles but we are immature yet, I'm a 17😄 years old and I have training with handguns and I don't think I have the full responsibility for carrying a firearm yet! I think 20 years a good age to start carrying!
gustavo santana Most places have a minimum age to carry, but it should really be a matter of maturity. I've seen some 18-20 year olds that I wouldn't trust with a sling shot, but I've also seen 12 year olds that I'd almost let carry if I could. Just my opinion.
No because Immaturity leads to allowing ones emotions become carried away which then leads to loss of control of actions. A kid meets a girl that walks with him and hugs him he's found the love of his life sees her walking with someone else is devastated and shoots up half the school. Or worse becomes a bully because he's got a gun gets his ass whooped and shoots up half the school out of anger. Kids are evil. Might as well give them control of nuclear weapons.
Some people old and young should not be around firearms. This is coming from someone who has firearms and supports firearms.
I was 28 before I started carrying because I had issues with anger and Immaturity even though I hunted and carried in the woods safely high school is a tense setting. If I was carrying in high school I would have shot several people.
I met Jane Fonda in Connecticut. At a small airport, I was in military uniform, on my way to my new duty station. Jane Fonda approached me. I realized who she was just as she started to talk to me. For some reason, the words that came from her mouth was "I just want to say, that I said some things years ago that I shouldn't have said". I was floored. It is unfortunate she has never made a point to say it, to a larger audience.

The predator scene with the emptying of guns into the Jungle didn't come across to me as "useless"
It more showed how awesome they were when they cut down those trees with it, and really entertaining.
I love that you guys mentioned Charles Bronson and Death Wish. That film really thumbs its nose at liberals and the anti-gun crowd. It illustrated, in graphic detail, how gun control practices actually contribute to crime, and that criminals only relent when faced with force.
Can you imagine a film like that being made today? I don't think it would ever see the light of day in our current political climate.

Yeah, I watched magnum force(the second dirty hairy movie) the other day and it had a 357 magnum revolver with a suppressor, which wouldn't work because of the gap in the cylinder, but the gun didn't have any threads or a muzzle device so it made no sense whatsoever.
