Dear mom: The Dave Matthews Band is to me what Phish is to Ali. I have only seen them a few times in my life, but they still remain the most important band of my life. There was a period, before and during my time with Bob, where I listened to them almost to the exclusion of everything else. You probably remember me listening to them in my room a lot in highschool. Well, that trend continued for about 10 years. Spiritually, Dave's music gave me everything I needed for a long time. I finally crawled out of my DMB hole and now listen to a really wide variety of music again, but I still think of Dave as my personal poet in that he is the one songwriter that has put my thoughts and emotions to music more than anyone else. This song, and in particular this magical version of it, won over my heart in college and I used to listen to it on repeat on the 3 hour car rides between Charlottesville, VA and Green Bank, WV that I took every week when I used to go work on the telescope site by myself. The tumbling acoustics and notes falling all over themselves, mixed with Dave's powerful lyrics about letting go of worry and trusting yourself, still feels like a waterfall of sound and made me feel like I was floating as I was 7000 feet up, winding around the West Virginia wilderness.
@@ac1239844 Wow! I love finding there are other deep people cause so very many are so very shallow. One thing: wait for the right one. Wait for one deep as you, one who searches the stars so much deeper than the ocean. Wait because the sellig out is the selling of your true soul.

Don't let the troubles in your head
Steal too much time you'll soon be dead
So play"
