    i installed mine last year and this video helped a lot!
    system was flawless for a year (i got this in two of my homes) However one started acting up for no apparent reason, i replaced my 1 year filter and water is barely coming out…..i did all of the trouble shooting i checked pressure in the tank (completely empty) 6.5-7 psi…..then i saw where it said filters are maybe clogged, i went to the store got “green” filter one u replace every 2 yrs ($86) i remove blue hose from the tank and water is just dripping. Then i took old “yellow” filter and plugged it in the place where “Green” filter is goin water started to come out perfectly, i put “Green” filter back in and nothing its back to dripping …..im at lost i don't have a clue whats going on or what to look for, id appreciate if you have any suggestions or tips before i go out and buy new system 🤦🏻‍♂️
    Thank you!!

    • @Housebarons
      @Housebarons  Před rokem

      Hey scudetia..,
      With it dripping, seems like a clog stopping the flow or like a thumb on the end of a straw which keeps water from flowing out a straw.
      I’d probably remove all hoses and make sure everything is clear.
      I’m not sure I fully understand the science behind them - maybe look for a troubleshooting FAQ the brand web site…
      Don’t for get to check the drain hose as well.
      Let us know once you figure it out.

    When i turn on the water, the black tube constantly spills out water into the drain pipe. Is it normal? that's like wasting water. Also my system, which looks exactly the same as yours, but has an extra red tubes on the filter with a sticker says Drain. I just connected to the faucet's red tube. it's very confusing.

    • @Housebarons
      @Housebarons  Před rokem

      Hey whoever…,
      Yes. The black tube is a drain. In my general knowledge of reverse osmosis, the water in the black tube draining is normal IF it eventually stops.
      If it doesn’t stop, water pressure in the tank may be too low.
      See if you can find a troubleshooting tool or reach out to the company,
      I do remember that in setting up the system, it initially ran for and hour or two(???) and then got quiet.
      Then after using it a lot, water will run quite a few minutes as it refills the tank but much less than at initial set-up.
      Hope that helps.
      Thx for watching!

    My tank is filled and I’m at the step where it have the faucet off. But the red line is still draining. Is this a normal part of the start up or I’m i having a problem?

    • @Housebarons
      @Housebarons  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey Justin,
      If you system is like ours, I believe that continual draining sound is part of the tank refilling with the pure water got on demand use and the draining sound is waste water ( draining away.)
      The tank is used to hold pure water which takes a lot of time to accumulate.
      W/o the storage tank, it would take something like 5 minutes to push the water through the membrane and fill a glass of water.
      RO is a SLOW process.
      While it is accumulating, you hear the sound of waste water draining.
      Depending on how much water you use, you can hear that sound for an hour or more...?
      And when you first fill the tank, it takes a LONG TIME.
      So yes - I think that draining is normal.

      I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one. Got everything hooked up and leaks fixed, but the constant draining had me worried. So long as this draining only happens while the reservoir is refilling I think I’ll be okay considering the pure water coming from the faucet.

    I am wondering if you can place the tap water spicket into the same hole that had a sprayer hose. Also, if I only have the two supply lines, does the system hook into the cold water line? I assume it does, but your video had three supply lines. Thanks for a great video! It was super helpful.

    Question? How much PSI should be in the tank? The manual for this product in video states, 5-7 lbs. Manual read's, How to check Tank PSI. Shut-off water supply and completely drain the tank. Then check PSI to 5-7 PSI. If I'm correct it's page 10 or 13 in the Watt's installation manual. But, when I search other CZcams videos. They say, PSI should be between 35- 40 PSI. My system is the same as in this video. My system is draining water all the time. They say, this system has a 35-40 PSI automatic shut-off valve. Question is, When Tank is empty PSI should be 5-7 PSI and when Tank is full PSI should be reading 35-40 PSI? I'm thinking I don't have enough PSI in the system for the automatic shut-off to work. Thanks Dan from Indiana.

    • @Housebarons
      @Housebarons  Před rokem

      Hey Dan,
      1st - Hi neighbor! Thx for letting us know where you are from. We always like to hear that!
      2nd - you say your auto shut off doesn’t work.
      Are you referring to a gurgling sound after significant use?
      From my understanding, the gurgling is normal. It is the sound of the waste water running to drain when your RO system is making water.
      5-7 lbs psi is what the manual says. I’m not sure I would pay too much attention to RO info that is other than WATTS as each system can be different.
      I have never tested the psi in the “full” tank.
      If your system is never stops draining, the you have some issue. Mine usually stops after 10 min or so.
      I’ve read where it can drain more as it is filling after a new install… so I’d try giving it an hour. If it is still draining, try WATTS-customer service and see if they can pin point the issue.
      Hope that helps.
      Thx for watching!

    Hi thanks for this helpful video I'm about to install mine. Quick question are you still satisfied with this product after having it for awhile?

    • @Housebarons
      @Housebarons  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey Carlos,
      Yes. We’ve had it nearly a year. I hated buying the plastic bottled water ( wasteful) and love the on demand pure water!
      We had one leak, because I hadn’t tightened the drain hose enough to the existing kitchen drain. ( czcams.com/video/3L9ZNprDEvE/video.html )
      Also, at times , I’ve heard that the drain hose can clog but is easily cleaned out. Have not had that issue yet.
      Also, when the holding tank refills, it gurgles. But we’ve gotten used to that.
      All in all - if it broke and couldn’t be fixed, I would immediately replace it. Total fan.
      Thx for the question and for watching.
      Enjoy the pure water!

      Hey yunk…,
      After first set-up it does run for a significant length of time as the tank fills up. But eventually ( less than 3? Hours - just a guess ) the tank is full and it only runs when refilling the tank.
      Double check that everything is connected exactly like the directions.
      All else fails, get in touch with the manufacturer.

    I just bought this system. I would like to hook the filter water directly to my cold water dispenser. Do I need to use the faucet?

    • @Housebarons
      @Housebarons  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey BK,
      My experience is that even hooked to the provided thin faucet takes significant time to replenish the reservoir. It would also be a waste of the filters to run the filtered water through the main faucet and then use cold water for anything other than drinking. We use our main cold water for rinsing a dish, getting water for plants, rinsing a sponge, etc. None of those require filtered water.
      BUT let’s say you didn’t want an extra hole in your sink/counter.
      Maybe you could run it through you main faucet, but you’d have to be very selective when using the cold side- or else be willing fork out the bucks to replace filters much more often.
      Good question.
