Nice hammering, you could bring that hook around your jig much more for a tighter S. Even almost closed for a chain link effect. Those vice jigs are key for size consistency. Nice shop!
Good Job buddy, I've still only ever forged 1 s hook for Yams s hook challenge, I've made loads of wall hooks, I use galvanised bucket handles to cold bend long s hooks, for hanging stuff off the walls but I don't think that counts

" anyway today folks we're smithing a saltwater crocodillion!. Hey man great to see you creating content from down under! Keep it coming brother. But next time flip your camera upside down for us folks in the northern hemisphere so that we can see it properly if you don't mind.
So some of my honey's kin folks came from out of town to help put down some flooring late last night. We spoke briefly when they arrived, mentioned blacksmithing and one of their friends they brought along was saying the normal "i dont see how anyone can make a living with that. Seems obsolete....blah blah" BS that I am used to hearing. I dont get why they wanted to help during the night and keep me up working all night when I planned to do it in the day when I can see how to make cuts on the table saw outside in front of the house, nor why a man would come to anothers' home and knock his chosen profession, but hey, free help right? So I get out my yellow high-output work lights for which I have no stands. They drive a nail into front porch posts at each corner and attempt to hang a light on each... These lights refuse to hang on a nail. The weight distribution is just not designed for it. So I walk inside, open a drawer on a table by the door, pull out two decorative S-hooks as being a blacksmith, I know of their value in so many situations. I say "y'all just step out of the way, and let me show you how to fix this with some of my obsolete craftsmanship" ....on the nail I place the S-hook, I lay the light handle in the other bend of the hook, and it rests gently against the post and the workspace out front became as the light of day. I looked at the naysaying newcomer and said "well will you look at that? Blacksmithing makes a man happy, blacksmithing puts a roof over his head, blacksmithing done gone and made the world brighter, blacksmithing keepin my body in shape... I aint seen picking at someone and putting your foot in your mouth ever do any of that"... New guy got mad and went and sat in the truck most the night lol. Bad sport he was.
A few months at least mate. The build WAS scheduled to be complete is april. But the amoint of rain we have has this wet. Has pushed the house back till june. So fingers crossed only a couple.months after that. If there are no more unforseens

How long till the new shop is finished cobba? I’m doing the move and build too🤔 so a new forg area is coming up for me too
