  • “Life has some curveballs that are thrown at you.”
Columbia Southern University graduate and Virgin Islands native, Toya Simon, class of ‘18, worked her way through school while recovering from two Category 5 hurricanes in 2017. She has learned plenty about overcoming life’s obstacles, and she was determined to accomplish her goal of finishing her bachelor’s degree in business administration.
In 2018, Columbia Southern University celebrated its 25th anniversary. As an innovator in online education, CSU was established in 1993 to provide an alternative to the traditional university experience. CSU offers online associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees such as business administration, criminal justice, fire administration and occupational safety and health. As a fellow Virgin Islander myself (St. Croix), I couldn't be more happier for Ms. Simon success. If her story doesn't give motivation to go back to school, I don't what will.
