Thanks for the recipe it was the best ,I just made a little adjustment ,I did not use honey I used the Splenda baking sugar and the icing I use frosting made of butter, cream cheese and vanilla it was so good plus I only baked it for 10 minutes
+Jaime Garlejo I love that you made adjustments to fit your needs and that you told me about them! It is nice to let others know what they can do. That frosting sounds amazing.
I used baking soda, the results came out very well, my husband said it was very delicious, and his work buddies sent a note, thank you to me, I thank you very much for sharing this recipe for this dessert.
Yay! It's truly my pleasure! I'm so glad everyone enjoyed them! Thank you for sharing this with me.
Jane here. They look lovely. I make my frosting the same way. It tastes so good!
I'm so glad you think so!
I haven't heard of coconut flour before! Sounds yummy. I'm a fan of coconut milk!
There are so many coconut products out there!
Thanks for the recipe and demo. They look delicious!
Great recipe love! Looks great. I love your necklace 😍 and you speak really clearly which is so helpful. The pop up jokes were pretty distracting while I was trying to follow the recipe, but other than that I loved this video! Keep the great content coming! Happy Holidays! 🎄🎁
These are amazing!!! I used coconut sugar and a little bit of water and it was delicious.
That's great to know that is an option! Thank you for your feedback!
Thanks for supplying us with a healthy alternative to grains and refined sugar. Can't wait to try it.
I hope you like them!
I can't wait to try your recipe, neat video and simple directions . A little advice just relax don't worry about looking perfect. Have fun.
I hope you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for the advice!
Made them with coconut oil instead of butter, WAY BETTER TEXTURE
+Priscila Esteva If you love the coconut flavor it definitely gives a great texture. Thank you so much for your feedback!
How much coconut oil?
+SASILJ the link to the full recipe is right under the video :)
They look really good, thanks for putting this up, I'll be trying them this weekend. Great video!
Thank you! I would love to know your thoughts after you make them.
these look so good can’t wait to make them
I would love to hear back about what you think when do you!
I have Celiac, been GF for a decade. Love baking now that I have bobs red mill products, which are easy to find in Oregon.I am also borderline diabetic. Your rock this recipe.
Hi Sharon! Thank you so much!!
I must try these
Just found your videos and loving this one👍
Yay! Thank you! I'm so glad you found me!
Love love ur show!!!!!!
Thank you!
Am definitely going to try this out!! But instead of muffins can I just use the same recipe for a cake? Thanks so much!!
+Linx Wong You most definitely can! Just put in an 8x8 cake pan. That's what I do :D
You said BAKING POWDER in the video and BAKING SODA in the printed recipe !
Which is it ? Thanks.
Great catch! We didn't even catch it. Honestly, either one will do. Baking soda makes the recipe grain free, and the cupcakes will be a bit more dense. With baking powder there is corn in it, and the cupcakes will be more fluffy. Does this answer your question?
Substitute honey for stevia and it will be also keto dessert!
Thanks for sharing that suggestion!
Replaced two of the four eggs by two vegan eggs (1 tablespoon of flax meal+3 tablespoon of water=1 vegan egg). Still taste great.
Awesome! How was the texture?
Can we do both baking powder and soda since soda keeps them together and powder makes them fluffy?👍🙏
Yes!
@@Roadtolivingwhole what's the AMT of baking soda and coconut oil
Thank you so much!! We will try it! I appreciate it!
Please let me know how you like them!
Can I substitute eggs for flaxseed meal? I have high blood pressure and can't eat egg yolks any more.
I haven't tried flax eggs in them yet. They should work though.
Diva 504 have you tried it? I don't use eggs either
Informative. Thanks.
I'm glad you found the video informative Meya!
Great video, thank you for sharing 🌷🌹
Had no vanilla so did almond flavour....Simply deeeeeeeelish. Next batch to be made along with myprotein flavadrops.... Pink n strawberry and some toffee coloured toffee cupcakes. Not huge on using honey so will use proper baking granulated sweetner next time.... Authentic texture to the buttercream topping then. Damn I'm getting hungry again 👍
Yum! The reason I use honey is because the coconut flour absorbs so much liquid it can become grainy and dry. You could try half honey, half sugar and see how that turns out. Or add a couple tablespoons of liquid. Thank you so much for your feedback!
I have diabetes and I don't like almond flour taste...but coconut flour is hard to bake... thanks for your help
It's my pleasure! Coconut flour is tough, I'm glad I made it easier. I have a ton more recipes over on my website including pumpkin chocolate chip bread. www.roadtolivingwhole.com/recipe-index/
I was hoping to see how it looks inside, sadly it wasn't shown in the video nor can we see it on the website / blog itself. Would be helpful if the baker takes a bite and show a close up of the cake crumbs so viewers can tell if this kind of recipe is what they are looking for (as everyone's preferences differ).
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate hearing from you.
I can’t have honey I’m allergic what can I substitute it for?
Maple syrup would be good. Or you can do sugar and add something like almond milk until it's a dough like consistency. Probably 1-2 tablespoons would be enough.
Thrive Gluten Free thank u
1 cup sifted coconut flour = 100 grams.
Thank you
Can I use this frosting preparation in the piping bag to decorate a birthday cake?
Yes you can. I do! :)
Thank you! Can I reduce the amount of honey in the frosting?
You can definitely try. Add a little at a time until you get your desired flavor :)
Marian, You recipe is magic.. Came out just perfect..Never thought I would be able to make a birthday cake without flour and sugar.. Thank you sooooo muchhh.. How can I share photos of my cake which I prepared following your recipe?
Reema, thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe and I would LOVE to see your photos! I wish you could post them on here but lucky you can share them with on my facebook page, facebook.com/roadtolivingwhole and/or email me at marian@roadtolivingwhole.com
Awesome tips, Thanks:)
My pleasure!
Chef Vegan
any alternative for the butter
You can use coconut oil or avocado in place of butter. Avocado will turn them a green color though.
Did you bake them in center of the oven?🙏
I have done both and it worked out great.
What sugar sweetener can we use to replace the honey?
Hi Trina, agave nectar would be a good replacement. Others have used stevia and plain sugar with good results as well.
350 temp for 18 to 20 mins too high? Ovens vary I know and feel like 320 is best for baking center oven for 22 mins and it came out perfect 👌
Thank you for sharing!
Am I allowed to use coconut sugar instead of honey?, if so, how much?
Yes you can. You can sub 1:1 then add a tablespoon of water, almond milk or coconut milk. :)
Can I use a sugar free substitute like erythritol ?
I can't add honey or maple syrup
Yes you can. I don't know the ratio for erythritol but you can for sure. I would just add a tablespoon or two of something like coconut or almond milk to prevent them from being dry.
Thrive Gluten Free thanku so much
Looking forward to make a perfect cake
Nice
sorry in the video you said baking powder but in the recipe link it says baking soda?? which one is better to use? thank you!
Hi! I have used both. I found that baking soda helps them hold together better while the baking powder makes them fluffier. It depends on your goal I think.
What would you suggest for an egg replacement? If you are vegan
I haven't tried making them without eggs as of yet. I really need to. However, my plan is to use flax eggs, plus a tsp of baking soda and tsp of white vinegar and see how they turn out.
Hi. Can u add the cacao powder to make it chocolate? Is it possible?
Hi definitely can! I haven't done this yet but I would start with 1/3 cup cacao powder and an extra tsp of vanilla extract. Taste it and see if it needs more cacao. I don't think it would but it might need another tablespoon or two.
Made these and they came out good! I realized I like cocunut smell in everything including body wash shampoo and NOT in baking ! The smell of the cocunut flour was not my favorite thing and I could smell the cocunut smell eating the cupcakes ! Is that smell normal? Did yr muffins have a cocunut smell when you had them?
Hi! I only smell coconut when I use coconut oil instead of butter. However, I know everyone has different preferences. Some people LOVE the coconut smell and flavor while others don't. I'm sure brand plays a role as well. I'm glad they came out good overall though. I'm glad you tried them!
Yes I agree some people love the smell and some maybe don’t like me when it comes in baking with coconut! Lol love the smell in everything else and brand I used was : Republic of coconut ORGANIC , Thankyou for ur reply appreciate it 😊I’m also glad I tried them !
I was wondering...do you know how to make bread or buns with coconut flour. Greetings from the Netherlands🤗
Hi Janis! I do not have a sandwich bread recipe at this time, but I have cranberry-orange, and blueberry lemon bread recipe. I am sure I could develop a sandwich type bread though. Let me know if that is something you would like. :)
Oh ok! I will check out the recipes you suggested! If you have a nice grain/glutten free recipe (doesn't have to be a coconut flour) I would love to try that out as well. Thanks in advance! :)
Hi Janis, please email me via my contact form on my website www.roadtolivingwhole.com/contact-me/ and I will send you the recipes
Can i use 1/3 cup of coconut sugar instead of honey or maple syrup? Plss reply
You can! I would add a tablespoon of water to help keep them moist.
@@Roadtolivingwhole thank you so much for replying
Hi how much almond flour would I use if was substituting the coconut flour
Hi Aima, you would use 3/4 cup almond flour for 6 cupcakes instead of the 1/3 cup coconut flour.
Thanks for replying
I tried these it was so grainy I really hated the texture instead of honey I used xylitol sweetner.
Coconut flour can be extremely dry. That's why a liquid sweetener is recommended. However I know many people who don't like food with coconut flour at all.
baking soda or baking powder. at a Full Recipes
Honestly, both work. Baking soda they hold together better than with baking powder.
i love you.
This recipe sounds good but not diabetic friendly because of all the honey used. It would definitely spike blood sugar significantly. Substitute with a no sugar Sweetner.
Correct, it is not diabetic friendly. You can substitute xylitol for honey then add 1-2 tablespoons of liquid like coconut or almond milk to prevent them from being dry.
nice voice
I'm a vegan. Any alternative to eggs?
I haven't tried flax eggs yet. I need to make up a batch to see how they turn out.
how much is 1 cup of flour?
I am not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if you were to sub the coconut flour for another type of flour? The ratio would be completely different when using a flour other than coconut flour.
Erm... not good for diabetics if it has honey in...
Many people replace the honey with stevia with good results
no milk
Correct, no milk :)
I'm not vegan I like meat better
What are the weird comments on your screen about? Is that some Disney crap? Aren't you a grown woman? 😹 Irrelevant and distracting AF.
