IBS Rules.
Within a few seconds you know the composition is the star of the show. As time goes on it seems to become more obvious that FZ is up there w/ Coltrane, Ellington, Miles Davis and Stravinsky...the playing here is gorgeous tho'.
Interesting how many Great American Songbook jazz standards he does. Are those how he makes his living when not singing with FZ cover bands?
if I had to guess I would imagine they just didn't have enough rehearsal time to work up some more Zappa stuff. Not exactly the easiest music haha, so I can't blame them
@@TheSteelDialga precisely. They were a last minute ring in about 3 weeks before. They were touring the Great American Songbook, and just accepted that that's what they had. Added a few Zappa tunes in the time they had and turned up for it. It was great. A huge start to a fabulous weekend.
