- AMF1 Team Driver Ambassador Jessica Hawkins completed her first #F1 test piloting the AMR21 in Budapest last week. Showcasing a strong performance, Jessica achieved a lifetime ambition to drive an F1 car, and became the first woman to do so since 2018.

dont you have to have a certain number of superlicense points to do a fp session? she was 9th in w series so i dont think shell have enough
@@funnybunny1648 I think you can only collect these points through practice sessions etc at some point - but i don't know
I just think it's a communication stunt, it's not a Super License problem, look at Jamie Chadwick, yet announced as a female crack, she has been in the Williams academy since 2019 and yet they have never tried to make her ride in free practice even though theoretically she was three times champion in W Series and in the current scale of points for the super license being champion in W Series gives 15 points therefore holder of the super license

I am so happy for Jessica that she was able to fulfill one of her dreams and all the years of ambition have led to where she is now. I hope we see a lot more of Jessica, hopefully soon in an F1 racer. She is a truly inspirational person and yet shows that F1 still has some corners to work on. Women should be supported more, the W-Series was a slap in the face for the female newcomers within this scene, they were deprived of the chance to drive right here. The Formula Academy is not even streamed anywhere. This is a big step forward, make something of it, thank you - Aston Martin.
The fact that the FIA refused to award super license points was a total joke and an insult.
why would they award super license points in a formula 4 car? It would be a danger to everyone on the grid.

Throw her in the deep end. A woman was 1 point short of winning the world rally driver championships in group b the hardest car in history to drive.
And a woman sat on the pole and lead many laps at the Indy 500 and Indycars are much more demanding to drive than a F1 cars due to no powersteering.
And with some simple research on the history of women in F1, you'd quickly find out there has been women in the sport even back in the "good 'ole days", say, what about 1958? Or how about 1975? No? Then how about 1980?

Well the PR stunt worked it got people talking…. But if they were serious about her they would show her lap times. It’s obvious this is just for Publicity they’re so selective about what they show. They won’t even show her onboard footage cause people would be able to see her delta on the dash.

I think I know why the car had a drop in performance, the electronics between the gears and the engine are not so direct and that can explain why the car is heavier in increase of speed and go faster both in curves and on the straight

Good on her for working hard and getting the test I have nothing against women drivers but the thing is there should be a woman's F1 championship as there is way to many good drivers male and female competing for 20 seats on the F1 grid so having to separate categories male and female championships gives both genders equal chances to race in F1

It must have been an amazing experience and a great leap for diversifying the grid but it also begs the question to how were the lap times in relation to the guys during the 2021 season on that track? Are will there be an WF1 series?

Jessica sould be the f1 team reserve pilot. Doesn't make sense not having a reserve pilot for Stroll or Alonso, having someone capable already in the team.

@@dbzcollector9963 She may do better, equal or worse, yes. BUT if she did equal or worse she'd be replaced with someone else whilst Lance is not being fired and never will be and that is the main problem here.
@@DugTheDog the problem is she has no previous experience, stroll atleast has some did it amount to much? Not really but he still climbed up the ranks and participated in the feeder series and earned his super license. Why should they fast track a female just for the sake of it when they haven’t accomplished anything? They should start her in F3 maybe F2 and see how she does if she can atleast score podiums she would get the super license points and have a chance at F1 but everyone seems to say “forget the hard work and dedication that everyone else has to go through. Let’s just get her into F1 cause equality for some!”. They could even put her on the esports team or something so she can actually prove herself, that’s all I’m saying. The only reason people want her in F1 is cause she’s a women but no one has actually seen her do a real lap. They only show what they want you to see just look at the way they cut this video.

@@DugTheDog that’s understandable but there’s plenty of other eligible drivers out there far more deserving of a seat. If she had some experience under her belt I would 100% be on her side but she has nothing to show for in her entire career that says she should be in F1. It’s like throwing a middle schooler into the NBA, it ain’t gonna be pretty! 🫣😂
