- Twenty-five years ago, I released my second album, Women In Technology. This track is a very rare collaboration with the immensely talented Ann Pearson.
The video has never been on CZcams before, it's an ANNIVERSARY EXCLUSIVE!
Wanted
Lyrics by Ann Pearson
You didn't notice I existed that night
I jumped & I waved
Even shouted your name that night
But it's all the same
You'll never see me again
All I wanted
You see my face
But it's all the same
You'll never see me again
All I wanted
You're so pretty
You turn me inside out
And I only say this
Because I know I'm not
But it's all the same
You'll never see me again
#YourWoman #WhiteTown
All I wanted
You see my face
But it's all the same
You'll never see me again
All I wanted
And now I'm standing
And you've left me with what?
And now you thank me
for what you've got
But it's all the same
you'll never see me again
All I wanted
You see my face
But it's all the same
You'll never see me again
All I wanted - Hudba
Thanks to Todd in the Shadows ONE HIT WONDERLAND I became aware of this. Makes you realize there's more to White Town than just Your Woman. Its a shame that this song didn't also turn out to be a hit, I got hooked!!
Thank you for listneing!!
Honestly it goes hard, kinda reminds me of late 90s Imogen heap, or portishead or propellerheads
I'm also here because of Todd in the Shadows. I really like this song. Glad I discovered it.
Lovely tune, great public service from Todd to point us here.
Sometimes great tracks aren't meant to be hits .
I'm here thanks to Todd In The Shadows. "Your Woman" had long been a 90's favorite of mine, but thanks to Todd's One-Hit Wonderland episode, I now know this fantastic song.
I don't know what it is but this song is hypnotic. It feels like the late 90s personified. I could listen for hours
Thank you, @thingusbingus8181! :-D
I was obsessed with Women in Technology when I was a teen. Still know pretty much every word.
Me too! :-P
Same here.
I love Ann’s voice..❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's perfect, isn't it? SYNTHPOP QUEEN!
Todd in the Shadows just did a video about you, and I'm glad he did. Solid music, thanks for uploading it!
Love his vid!
It's sound like a trip hop song, I really love your album but this song has something more, so hypnotic!
Thank you!
right?! serious sneaker pimps vibes from this one. love it!
I'm here from Todd in the Shadows, and this is definitely going on my Trip Hop playlist on Spotify
Came here from Todd in the Shadows - this is such a great song. Pretty sure I never heard it before his video but still feels like it’s a song taken deep from my memory
Great song.
i’ve been jamming to this all day thanks to todd’s video.
Woohooooo! :-D Glad to have you!
I'm yet another who became aware of this song via Todd in the Shadows and this song, just from hearing the snippet on his video, immediately made me go "Oh this is specifically targeting me as a listener. " Just scratching every itch I didn't know I had.
This is a killer track. So timeless!
Thank you! :-D
This song is incredible I can’t stop listening
Thank you, Greg Shilton! :-D
I'm so glad you have a CZcams channel now. I have listened to this album the last 7 or 8 years ever since I realised there was one. I didn't know there were any other singles released from this album.
Loving her hypnotic voice in 2023
man this song is incredible! on repeat since i recently discovered
Nice song!
And thanks for sharing this on CZcams.
I had the privilege of discovering this song thanks to the CZcamsr Todd in the Shadows. I’m glad that I’ve seen both videos.
Thanks for listening 😀
@@JyotiMishraIf you don’t mind me asking, what exactly is this song about?
It’s obviously related to love, but could you go a bit more in-depth?
Dude. I loved this honestly. I loved the Techno bits. Very minimalist in a way. Appeals to the ears.
Thank you, @PhazonGamer90! :-D
I always loved The Never be your woman. I STILL look for it online now and then or ask Alexa to play it. But I wanted to look up more of your discography, just saw Todd in the shadows on your work. I heard a snippit of this and I like it. I am also going to check out the peek and poke stuff, as I grew up programming the C64. :)
This makes me feel really old. But in a good way!
this definitely has a bit of a dancier vibe than Your Woman, but it also to me has some darker undertones. i guess the closest i've got to describe this is "menacing house music". im liking it!
I love this video. It's simple but very creative
Am just up for a piss, it’s 03.50 and this track melted my skull…..
Thank You xxxxx
*I was thinking about your channel, nice to see more uploads!!!!!!!! :D*
Hey, thanks!
This is really cool - beautiful voice, cool hypnotic melody. The music and the video are a mix of gritty and sleek.
Gen Z-er here digging into White Town for the first time after tracing Dua Lipa's Your Woman sample, and wow, seriously underrated!!
Plenty to dig into and it's all up on this channel, filllll yerrrr boots
I love it. Can't stop listening.
Very cool
Magnificent

Thank you, @jonathanorozco8075! :-D
Just heard this song a few days ago with my brother. We watched Todd in the Shadows together (he loves that channel) and this song is so cool. It reminds me of Rhode by Sevdaliza, but clearly this song was first. I like to imagine Sevdeliza heard this song in some ancient ruins or a magical tomb and then wrote this as a continuation. It's fun to imagine😅😅
Actually, I can totally picture this song, Rhode by Sevdaliza, and Mutual Core by Bjork being one epic rhapsody. A sisterhood of songs that tells of something cosmic ❤❤❤❤
this ia some excellent stuff, looking forward to more
I love this song lol great to sing along too
The production is pretty immense
My friend (i mean Jyoti) , i didn't know you and Ann Pearson are on the *Sienna* project . There is even the Wanted song and this is good ! How in the blaze there's so little views.
Oh no, I was never a part of Sienna - that was very much Ann and Rob Fleay's band.
Simply brilliant song. Light years better than the shitshow music today. And Ann is amazing, mesmerizing.
Quite good , feels like Trip Hop ( yknow Massive Attack , Morcheeba etc etc).
❤
Hi Jyoti, IDK if you'll read this ever, but i recently re-discovered your music thanks to a friend of mine online. Just wanted to thank you for the great music and that i'll probably be giving a CD of yours to my younger brother soon as a present, i'm sure he'll love it. Thank you
Awh, that's lovely! Thank you!
@@JyotiMishra wow, you actually replied, that's so cool! I'll definitely say that to my younger brother haha. Hope you have a great day!
and i was the friend 😎
They must have known some stuff in 1997, huh? I was only 16 in December of that year. Now I'm picking up what they put down unless we are both holding it now.
I've always liked this song and it's a shame your album Women in Technology wasn't more of a success.
I always wondered what Ann looked like. A lot going on in the video, so will need to watch it another 100 or so times to take in all the details as usual, lol
i wish this song was a hit
Me too!
Came here from Todd in the shadows what’s female singers name
For some reason this gives me mad SEL vibes X3
1:54 *I think Jyoti likes being on TV a lot lol.*
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What a great song i found it from TODD in the shadows . I like the beats it kind of reminds me of "Looper".What happened to Ann Pearson ?
Coming from Todd's video, the concept for this video is really interesting to me. Did you have a part in directing or was this what the director's interpretation of the song was?
Was the line originally "you turn me inside out" and got changed to "you tie me up inside?"
Amazingly hottest
I actually prefer this version of the song vs the one on the album on Spotify. The downtuned key signature works better here, I think.
Well-spotted! :-)
feels like its missing something
How is it I have never heard this song before?
It's pretty obscure, tbf!
@@JyotiMishra I always thought you would have had 2 or 3 hits on this album.
@@JyotiMishra I have a talk radio and a music show on my other name(s). One of my topics is 2nd songs by one hit wonders. Would you be open to doing a 30 minute interview sometime over the next month or so?
