Mirfield was a fine station in its time. Although I don't remember the billiard room I do have a special memory of a portion of a Blackpool illumination steam halled special leaving from one of the west bay platforms. The waiting rooms (there were two!) had horse hair seats and coal fires. Very welcoming in winter.
