Your M. Aurea is going to be ridiculously amazing when it’s a big plant.. wow!!!
Your El Choco is absolutely beautiful Fern #goals
Where I live asparagus ferns are sold in the garden centers as a bedding plant. I have huge lush pots of it that I’ve never been able to keep happy inside during our frigid winters. I now simply put them in my garage during the winter and pull them out in the spring. They completely die back so I cut them down to the soil and put them back outside when temps allow. I’ve been doing this for decades and haven’t lost one yet. They are a super durable plant.
I loved your Streptocarpus. I love them and have at least 100 of them. Most bloom almost all year long and some don’t stop.
The pink pot + Asparagus Fern look so good 😍
Woow that majestic 🤩🤩🤩😍
Isn't she lovely 🥹
@@wildfern breathtaking honesty
Lovely ❤ plants 🪴
Thank you Vicky ☺️
Hi Fern, I am loving all of your April faves, especially the El Choco and the Ficus, I have that Ficus too and I have been crushing on it since I got it!!
Canadian tire has cute rectangle terra cotta pots that would probably be the right size for that plant
The Ficus Shivereana is a super chill plant. Fear not!
It seems to be 🙌 love it
All so beautiful plants, doing so well👍
💚☘️🌱🌵💚
Your plants are thriving, grear job. Love watching your videos, you are really entertaining, great personality. 😊
I have been watching your videos for a while now and your El Choco is frigging AWESOME!!!! I remember how you brought it back from the chonk, so great work Fern!!! Keep it up!!!
oh thank you so much 🥺🌿
That is the most beautiful el choco I have ever seen 💚
Thank you 😭
Such healthy beautiful plants ❤ another great video 😊
thank you so much!!
I love ur glasses they fit u so well
Thank you so much :)
I just got my Sodiroi from Home Depot! Like, what??!! I'm so excited to grow it out!
in canada?!
@@wildfern No, actually in the states, Illinois, for $19.99! I was shocked to see it in a big box store! I saw a Melanochrysum a couple of months ago labeled a black gold and I wish I had gotten it but didn't realize at the time that was its "common" name. 😩
First two planes are already SO good!!! I see why they are favorites!
Ahhh! Your Streptocarpus bloom is gorgeous. I think I need one of these! 💜
❤❤❤😊
just saw a nursery with ROWS of Strepocarcus, and I've never seen them in real life before, and had only heard of them bcuz of you! they had all different color blooms, it was incredible. I didn't grab one :(( I don't have room for them at home, and I already had four plants in my arms!!!😂 (a mini starter blue star juniper bonsai, a 1 inch pot of varigated opuntia, a 1 inch Drosera spatula, and a 1 inch Venus flytrap for my fiance 💃)
Your El Choco Red is just spectacular!!! I did treat myself with one and it’s all because of your beautiful plant 🥰
Me too!
Oh thank you so much 🥺 hope yours does really well for you!
I keep seeing a juvenile sodiroi at Canadian Tire and dinters up in duncan!!!
omg what!!!
I think your Majestic is your prettiest plant, all of its leaves are perfect!
Thank you Valery 🥺 I think so too!
💚💚
please dont take this the wrong way but u look sooo much better in this video with the no makeup and sorta natural hair the glassis are a nice touch too
❤️❤️
These are looking so good ❤
Lovely plants!
Great idea!!! Love it!
Perfection! Coming along so beautifully! Love watching the process🛏️
i’m always so impressed at how big some of your plants get in ambient humidity!! i have to put things in my cabinet to size up and still have never gotten leaves anywhere near as big as your el choco 😍
I do!
everything's looking so lush & mature ! making me want a majestic 🤩
Ahhhh your majestic 🥹 so freaking gorgeous. I usually don’t even care for the silver, but add in the velvet and I’m drooling. Your el Choco is also to die for. I can’t wait till both of mine get this big!!! 😍✨🌿
Right!! It's really something special. Thank you for watching :)
@@wildfern yassss girl. Keep doin what you do 😌 you are like the embodiment of the image I want for myself lol down to the name 😂
My majestic is a climber. Im so confused. I wish mine would crawl because its getting so tall and grows faster than any other philo in my collection
ficus are chill af once they're established, i've taken in multiple sick ones and nursed them back to health. I've had one since 2015 that is now 7 feet tall! they're gorgeously architectural
That is amazing! I agree, I think once they're settled in they are much better.
My asparagus fern grows like a weed..i have already repotted it thrice in a year and it has root coming out again😊..beautiful plant
Yes, they grow so fast! I think mine is due for a repot too.
@wildfern and the pink pot looks fab..i think i would find a similar one for mine now😊
Your El Choco and Magestic are so insanely beautiful 😍
Love it! Make more like this ❤
OMG El Choco!!! 😮😍
Everything is growing so well!
thank you 🥰💚
Would love to see an updated verrucosum care video/ plant spotlight!
Love seeing your videos!
Thank you Rose ☺️
I just bought an aurea and this made me even more excited to get it 😮😍😍😍😍
Ahhh that is super exciting! You'll love it
My ficus moonlight is such a happy little pop of light, can't wait for it to get bigger.
I love my el Choco, getting a 4th leaf.
❤❤❤❤❤
thank you for watching 💚💖
Your a master with the El Choco
Loved it! Thanks sweet girl xxx
💖💖💖
Your plants are amazing 😳🤗thanks for sharing and have a blessed day
Thank you for watching :)
Ok but that el choco? Amazing stunning beautiful all the good adjectives
chuco red is such a nice plant im stil trying to get one as i love the phillo splendid
What a wonderful video. Just SO enjoyable and satisfying to watch, especially with your joyful presentation. Can I just say...you look absolutely gorgeous without makeup 🤩😍
Oh thank you so much :)
@@wildfern 🤗
I'm not huge on crawlers either, but tbh I am IN LOVE with the gloriosum I got recently.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ M.Aurea is my fave of yours, and my Thai Constellation is my favourite!! I have another one showing up in the mail tomorrow 🥰
Thank you so much!
I have a little rubrijuvenile that I got about 8 months ago and it's still small, also had thrips rip through my collection, first time ever, no fun. I need to go through your videos and get some grow tips 🥰
Wow! You’re El Choco Red is huge! 💚 And it’s going to get bigger!
Omg! I love you mamai (? Spelling) I love silver foliage!
I just got a Majestic a couple weeks ago, I love it, hasn't skipped a beat. When I ordered it I was expecting a small rooted cutting. When I got it it was a nice 3 ft rooted plant, I was blown away. Also got a philodendron mayoi in that order.
Where did you get yours?

Hi Fern! I remember not all that long ago you were down about your plants not sizing up. I have been chuckling at your last few videos because your plants are starting to get HUGE over there 😂 Love love love your El choco 😍😍😍
Aww hahahah thank you. I know right! Gotta be careful what I wish for because now we're having trouble all fitting in here 😂
@wildfern I love your Majestic!!😍 Mine only has 3 big leaves. Did you know when they mature they actually loose their silver! I was a little sad when I found that out. But yeah still beautiful 🤩
I’m in two minds about putting my choco on a pole…I loooove the big leaves, but I don’t want it to size up too fast. The really mature choco leaves really aren’t that pretty. I’ve seen a few huge, old ones and they’re so much nicer when they’re a bit more juvenile
I used to feel the same - but even though mine doesn't really have the red anymore, I think it just keeps on getting more beautiful as it sizes up!
That el choco and majestic is the O M to the dbl G!😍 and that’s good to know about the asparagus fern because I have a 100% success rate on killing ferns😅. I might just have to get me one of those!
Eeeepp thank you! And yes, try out an asparagus fern :) I treat mine exactly the same as my other plants - no special care needed.
Buy your streptocarpus at Violet Barn in New York. They have the biggest selection, and they ship. Also I have been looking for passiflora trifaciata for three years with no success. I ordered seeds from Thailand, but they did not germinate.
You should search up streptocarpus pretty turtle 🐢 😍
i am in love with all those philodendrons 🪴
Thank you Jasi 🥰🥰
Everything trailing can get those ruffles., it’s called corking. It’s basically a barky layer that forms on the stem/petiole to provide support for the load-bearing leaves.
Although the beginning stages look similar, IT IS NOT SCALE!! Do not try to scrape it off or remove it!! ❌❌❌❌ You’ll end up removing the top layer of the epidermis, opening up the door for rot and You can tell by taking an alcohol pad or swap and wipe it. If it comes off easily, it’s scale, if it doesn’t come off, it’s not.
I have it on my Monstera, some syngonium in my collection and a few others.
Okay, but I’ve never seen you (or noticed) your glasses, super cute!!!
Thank you!! I haven't been wearing them a lot, but I need to start lol 😅
Great video Fern! ❤ I live in one of the hottest and driest city in Australia and I think??. Just about every house had the Asparagus Fern growing up and over the outhouse (toilet)
We had some growing at the side of the shed so I asked my hubby if he could dig some out for me to put in a pot! Very tough plant with robust roots! Love your combo! 🪴💚 Natalie
Oh that is so cool! I bet it looks phenomenal growing outside too 🌿
I just got my monstera aurea. Mine is unrooted, and i am water propping with an aerator. I am scared and am looking forward to seeing some roots.
I think I literally just sat there for about an entire minute, open mouthed, after that bold faced assertation where you so casually mentioned GETTING RID OF YOUR DEAN MCDOWELL!?!?!?!?!?!?!? How could you Fern. I am astounded. No, I'm dumbfounded. No, I'm completely and utterly flummoxed! I just... Can not right now.
(I hope you know I'm completely joking, but I am a little surprised, it's a stunning plant!) But... nothing beats that majestic :) Isn't she beautiful? My fave philos are the parent plants, Majestic is still going for about $150 a leaf here now so I am holding on awhile longer but in the meantime I'll let yours be my fix, it's so pretty!
Hahahah. I love Dean McDowell but the particular one I had just had awful genetics or something :( The leaves wouldn't stop creasing as they emerged. Maybe one day I will try again with another one!
Your Majestic is truly living up to its name 😍 what size pot is it in?
So happy u have got a healthy looking asparagus fern. I got mine online and it didn’t grow well within a month. Nowadays I’m so skeptic about getting plants online. Recently I’m into Pteris species of ferns. Currently I have Pteris Cretica 'Albolineata' Fern, bunny looking leaves, another one is Pteris Ensiformis 'Evergemiensis' Fern and Hemionitis Arifolia Cuidados aka Heart shape fern.
Oh the heart shaped fern is so cute 🥺
@@wildfern u definitely need to add into your plant collection!❤️😊😘
ENJ💚YED Y💚UR APRIL 2💚23 FAV💚URITES!!! I ALSO... ENJ💚YED SEEING "OUR MR. EL CH💚CO RED"... Because I'm The One With The Juvenile...Y💚U Definetly Have A MR.!!!
You got rid of your McDowell?? When? It saddens me.. It was iconic
Omg please share how you care for your el choco red. One of Mine is doing pretty good and the other one is drooping 😭
❤🎉❤
☺️💚🌿
You need to get a long pot for your crawler.
Do you have a soil mix video? I’ve been looking for one! 🩷
I do, but currently my mix is just a store bought potting soil with perlite & orchid bark added in :)
I can actually hear you with low volume now!! Because of the speaker. I’m here for it
Oh good I'm so glad to hear :)
hot take: plants are cool
Gorgeous plants! Curious how many grow lights you have running at any given time? I have 10 currently but I feel like I need more. 😅
I run around 14 🙊
I can't have most of those plants because my cats just won't leave them alone! I'm out of room on my shelf and there is no other places that I can keep the cats away from or off of. Love my cats, but I sure get frustrated with them.
I buy cat grass and leave it all around my house. It’s made a significant difference. I have 3 cats. As long as I have a fresh supply of cat grass they don’t bother my plants. I’m going to start growing my own to minimize cost. Maybe that’ll help? 💚
@@Billie-jo_field Thank you! I will definitely try it!
Where are these glasses from?! So cute on you. Beautiful as always 🖤
Thank you! Glasses USA
How do you keep your plant leaves dusted?
😊 еще минута до премьеры
идеальное время - спасибо за просмотр!
A little off topic but… what nail polish do you use ? I’m obsessed. Ik you have a really shifty blue color I’ve seen on ur channel
www.mooncat.com they're the best! they have a sale this Friday too
where did you get tht pole for the choco?
Didn't recognise you! Great video
Thank you!!
Umm, you don't look like Fern. You sound like Fern but look so different. You change like a wild fern. Well done. Love the content over the years.
Where did you get the monstera? The closed caption says “Nordstrom tropical” and I’m pretty sure that’s not it 😂
Hey Fern, do u know a good type of moss pole to buy? I'm completely lost about poles & lights
Check out these: rousseauplant.care/collections/starter-moss-poles-pot-extenders/products/starter-moss-pole
or
www.thiccly.com
Did El Choco ever get ripped while the leaf was coming out of the sheath? Mine has ripped the 3 leaves it’s pushes under my care and they’re humongous but they always rip before completely coming out T_T
It has happened on some of my small ones, but it doesn't happen on this mature one 🤞
The majestic! You’re an amazing plant momma (and fur momma too 😊🫒). You have incredible skills. Have you ever considered doing tutorials or offering support or help to those that may need assistance with their plants? You have the best personality and skill set for it. It could be another source of revenue 💚✨ that Tortum though. I show mine yours just so it knows what it needs to do 😂🪴
oh thank you 🥺 I feel like I don't know enough about plants yet to offer something like that, but maybe in the future 👀 I'd love that.
Idk why I'm so curious, but are you from Vancouver, like are your parents there ?? I'm constantly sending my parents pictures of my plants. Do u do the same ? Or do they come and visit often ❤❤
My mom is here yes :) She sees my plants sometimes, but doesn't really care LOL
Random question! Maybe you can help me 🥲 I have a monstera albo that has been struggling SO MUCH, I recently put it in sphagnum moss and it’s finally growing roots! How long would you keep it in the moss? ❤️
I keep them in moss until it's pretty significantly rooted. Once it's rooted you can start fertilizing so it will have no problem staying in moss longer. It's up to you really, but I'd rather wait longer than transfer it out too soon.
@@wildfern thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ I’ve been growing plants for about 5 years now and I’ve never experimented with moss! I am nervous and excited.
You have such a beautiful collection ❤️ and your energy is 10/10 ✨
Are there 2 different plants that people call asparagus fern? That looks different than a plant I had years ago that was called asparagus fern. The one I had lost needles like a pine tree.
Maybe, but this is the most common one I've heard with the name!
Fern I feel like I have to Velcro my plants to the moss pole. You don't seem to. How do they work themselves into the moss pole if you don't tape them to it. I hope that makes sense. Really appreciate you're opinion. Thank you.
I either velcro them or clip/pin them to the pole to start. Once they root in the pole I remove the velcro for a cleaner look! So often I only need a couple of pieces at the top where the more "fresh" nodes are to help them.
Where is the red to call it el choco red?
On the stem!❤
the backs are red when it's young. the botanical name Philodendron rubrijuvenile means 'red when juvenile' :)
Why aren't you my girlfriend?! You're so cute!
