I bought one of your carbs for my Cub Cadet 1811 with the Kohler Magnum 18. I did have to swap a few of the linkage parts from my old carb, but other than that it was perfect. I did not have to adjust the high/low settings at all. Thanks Norman, great product!
fantastic job, it came out great
Awesome, keep up the good work.
My new fav channel! I'm about to restore a J Deere 317 with a Kohler KT17QS
Loooks well built we have an cub cadet 1811 and it often gets the oil and gas mixed so it is a Kohler magnum 18 engine this carburetor will work in my engine right ? If my carburetor won’t work I’m going to check out your store thanks Norman
love all your build series! keep up the good work! I have a kohler magnum 18 opposed twin from the mid 90's. is this the carb replacement for those engines? or is it too new?
Casper's Custom Works thanks for your comment. yes this carburetor is the correct replacement for you
Awesome! Expect my order in a week or so when I start my engine work!
every time i need a part i'm going to see what you have first thats the first repo carb for those kholer series engines I have ever seen. I aways restore them but sometimes its just not worth it . The small engine community here hoards the parts that i need the answer is always no from these guy's lol . Wait till they start seeing shiney new carbs on my projects they will be jealous .
Do you have video on ajusting this carb?
Hi, awesome videos! Do you have a video of you setting the carb with the screws ? I have a Power king 2418 and put this new carb on it. It's spitting a bit of fuel out the carb when running. Which screws do I need to adjust? Can you help ?

What are your high/low speed settings? 2 turns each?
I have a ih Cub cadet 782 with the kt17 series 2 if I go full throttle to fast it will run really rough and the governor linkage wall wiggle back-and-forth sometimes and if I pull the choke out it does not make it run better. Also if I’m plowing heavy snow it will randomly start running rough. And puffing some black smoke. If I throttle down and throttle back up it’s fine. I put all new gas line and had the carburetor cleaned New spark plugs. Any idea?
I just installed your carburetor on my Magnum MV18S but am having issues w/adjusting the high throttle setting as it is surging. I turned the low and high adjustment screws all clockwise and backed them off 1.5 counter clockwise but still am having surging issues when running full throttle. Any advice?
Are your carburetors American made? They look to be of high-quality. I just bought a cheap eBay carb for my Cub Cadet 1811 and I know it was foreign made, but in the future I would like to purchase an American-made one if I can.
Our carburetors are made for us by partners we have in Taiwan, but they are made specifically for our company and are not the same as ones found from others on eBay. Ours are the best quality available and are backed by our incredible warranty and service. Our parts begin here in concept and design and end here for QC and fulfillment.
I got one of these. No better then the cheep Chinese eBay carbs for a third of the price.
I notice that you were saying Kohler carburetor and walbro. Don't you mean Carter and Walbro. I was told Kohler did not make carburetors. Kind of like Tecumseh. They use their own box but mainly used the walbro on their engines and like Kohler used the Carter but used their own box. I know that Carter was used on the K161 and K181 tho. Model N I believe. I seen that even Wisconsin Wiscon used their own boxes with like the Zenith or Walbro in them. Briggs I thought was the only one that made their own carburetors back in the day. They would have their little emblem into the mold. I also noticed what you were saying about the choke cable rerouting it to go on top if you have to . The only problem with that is you now push to open choke instead of pulling to open choke. That means the lever will run backwords right? Even worse if you have the pull out knob to open and when you want to choke it you push in. I did it a totally different way. I took the choke out, Put it on the MF70 Proxxon milling machine and took off a 1/16 inside the venturi Then stuck the shaft back in 180 and went through the throttle body hole side with a Phillips scredriver and put the screws in. The Cub Carbs. Are like that. and massey and wheelhorse.
I'm wondering how to adjust that top screw with the air cleaner on.
with your hand, or if your machine doesn't have the space, adjust without the air cleaner in a clean shop environment.
I drilled a 3/8 hole through the air cleaner flange and put a hole plug in it after it was adjusted.
Installed mine yesterday, it was a good fit however the throttle will not adjust when engine is running. Moves just fine when engine is off. Is there a diagram available for this carburetor that shows which jet is which? It replaced a walbro on an Allis Chalmers 919h kohler m18s.
Please give our office a call.
I messed with my set screws .. do you turn them in all the way and then back them out 1 1/2 turns? Do I need to fill the "bowl" with gas ... to "get it going"? It works great when I spray ether in the intake .but then stops .. thanks Gary
Yes turn screws all the way in with finger pressure only. Then back out 1.5 turns as a starting point. You may want to check your engine's fuel pump for proper operation. Give us a call for more detailed assistance.
isavetractors Thx. It works great now. Thanks so much!!
@@Isavetractors Thx much .. it works !!! GD Tractor
I just purchased one of your carbs. I was curious if this carb would replace my walbro carb. on my cushman turf truckster. It has the same bolt pattern. I just put it on and the engine just backfires. Any suggestions. Am I too over my head?
I am not a mechanic, just work on my own tractor. From my own experience, backfires typically occur when the engine is running hot or lean. If lean, even though it is claimed that the isavetractors carbs are pre-adjusted, I would check the main mixture screw for proper adjustment and richen it up. Refer to Section 4 p19. in the following manual for the adjustment: resources.kohler.com/power/kohler/enginesUS/pdf/tp_2043_a.pdf. But please note the number of turns might be a bit different and is needed only for initial startup. The theory for the range can be used for the adjustment for most carbs like this
I got the carb and it bolted on perfectly, but I am having problems with fuel leaking out of the bottom. I took it off, removed and retightened the float bowl screw, and that seemed to help a bit, but still have fuel on top of the engine. Any ideas?
Tighten the fuel elbow one more turn in.
@@Isavetractors Thanks, that worked perfectly!
What is the factory setting for the top screw jet please, from seated position
Thanks
1.75
Really should’ve took apart the carburetor
i had mind clean but dont know how to adjust mind is a 17hp seres 2 on a 1985 argo
I got this carb for my M18. If I ajust the slow speed to where I want it and turn speed to high the motor doesn't runn fast enough. What should I do?
Carb adjustments are for fuel mixture not RPMS. You want to look at your governor for RPM adjustments
I have a Kohler Magnum 18, the carb is pitted, do you have something that will work for me??? What information do I need to be certain I order the correct one... Thanks in advance...
+Joe Thomas give our office a call 207-298-9701. All we need is the model number. All of the magnum twins tale the same carburetor. We will get you set up right!
Have 1975 bobcat m18Qs engine will this inter change
Hello,
I recently just purchased a brand new carburator for my Kohler M14 and it’s leaking gas from the bowl. I checked it and the float is not stuck and moves freely, the gasket is new, and it still leaks. What should I do?
Hi Sam. I believe we have reached out to you via email with a resolution.
isavetractors is that throttle lever been updated yet i have a magnum 20 hp and my throttle lever faces upwards
The choke lever has been updated, yes!
Have you updated the carburetors as you indicated in the video. I have both a 682 and a 1710 Cub Cadet tractor that have the KT17 Series 2 engines Do you prefer the thicker or thin carburetor gaskets between the intake tube and carburetor and elbow assembly? Just curious.
Yes we have! For the Magnum twins I use the thing gaskets
@@Isavetractors The 682 Cub Cadet that I am currently working on has one of the aftermarket carburetors that bolted up very nicely with the exception that the choke tab is turned totally wrong for the existing choke cable to work. Also, the actual hole in the throttle tab had to be drilled out to allow the Kohler linkage bushing to fit. The Walbro replacement carburetor bowl gasket that I was trying to use will not stay in place long enough to attempt to install the larger gasket that fits around the float or else I would have re-used the Walbro carburetor rather than going with an aftermarket carburetor. I removed the engine tins on both sides of the engine to clean out the trapped debris and crud which was horrible. I am totally surprised that the engine didn’t fry itself long ago.
i wish you did Wisconsin engine parts i have 2 10hp one off my 2 bolens that needs parts
we will in the future. I have some blocks here for prototyping but cannot locate too much written information on them.
okay ill be looking forward to that video
My k321 engine has a walbro carb is it the right one
Yes our carb will replace your Walbro
What do I do with fuel solenoid wires
You can tape them off and not use them.
How do I adjust the MAIN FUEL SCREW on the top? That was the sole purpose of looking at the video, and it is not on here.
You turn it.
@@Isavetractors OK than..You ain't nothing but a fucking smartass punk!
Do you sell that carb for the Kholer 18hp 1952-1961
Hi
I have a bolens 1250 with a 12hp Wisconsin / teledyne engine. I am looking for a carb rebuild kit but am not sure what carb I have. Can you I’d this carb?
We don't have carb kits for your zenith carbs but if you email me I can tell you how to adapt other carbs to your engine.
In reality, it does not fit all M18 engines. The M18ep on an RV generator has an elec choke and a heat tube over the top. The fuel adjustment screw on the top is in the way of the heater tube.
Got one for an Kohler MV16?
This one is also the right one for an MV16. Need to update this title
I need a carburetor for a magnum 12 air compressor
We have it! isavetractors.com/carburetor-26-for-kohler-k241-k301-m10-m12-engines/
What about magnum 16?
We have those too! www.isavetractors.com
It has flaws. I am not trying to degrade the product, but changes need to be made. One improvement is the notches at where the fuelbowl gasket seats. If there is a particular reason for them then I am all ears, if not, please change the design and keep it solid all the way around. Second is the design of the fuel bowl. I do not feel that the bowl itself is designed properly and does not seat on the gasket propery and after some use will leak and cause issues. The bowl does not seem to properly sit evenly on the gasket and seem to been slightly to small in diameter thus causing the gasket roll and not to seat properly. Third, where the fuel bowl seats, the inside lip could stand to be a bit taller giving more guard agains spashing in the seat.
I do currently have this current design and it has been a headahce with the bowl not properly sealing. I do know that I am not the only one that is having this issue and I am also finding this same exact model on ebay and there is no origanality to what you are advertising.
Seems like you guys are just buying the Chinese versions and advertising them as your own at a higher price. not a good look.
