    Hi Alex. Great video. This is where I fell in love with Mallorca. I've stayed in Don Pedro, Hoposa Niu and Simar. Can recommend all of them. The views are wonderful. During the day you can get yachts anchoring in the bay and the occupants using the various restaurants. I think the beach furniture will be installed at the same time as the beaches in Puerto Pollensa as it is the same council. Made my weekend watching this. Best wishes, John

    Brilliant video. I started watching Mallorca Under the Sun via the macmaster. What you are doing is such a great idea. And you do it so well. Your expert knowledge and clear love of where you live (except for impolite cyclists!) shine through. Plus you have great video skills, and the relaxed way you present mean that I'm watching all your videos even though I've never been to Mallorca. Thank you for all your hard work!

    Very informative! We were told by the lovely guys at Swing restaurant that the licences won’t be granted until June , for La Roca and beach chairs ! Last year there were beach chairs at Calle Barques as well ( and from May onwards) . Such a shame as made life easier with kids and older people.

    Thank you for your efforts, Alex. Im checking your updates everyday. Ive spoken to TUI over the weekend regarding the proposed protests at Palma airport. They said theyll know more over the next 3 weeks or so. They have given us the options of cancelling or they would swop our holiday for a similar holiday elsewhere. At the moment we are staying with Majorca pending any developments. We fly on the 6th July. Keep up the great work.

    We always stay in Port de Pollensa, but we always come for the day to Cala San Vicenc. Usually we walk over the mountain and take the bus back. I wouldn't walk in high summer, but as we come in Spring and Autumn the temperatures are usually fine for walking. It's a great day out. We'll be doing it again next week!

    Hi Alex I stayed in the hotel Molins many years ago for a week, was working as a nanny so didn’t get much time off, but when I did I was in the sea and a huge wave tried to suck me out, thank goodness I was a very good swimmer and didn’t panic. Still enjoyed myself though. ❤️

    Yes a very up and down resort. Stayed at Don Pedro and upgraded to All inclusive when I realised bars and restaurants weren't in abundance. I stayed in an anexe which took a while to get to round beach and up steps. The wild goats passed through the grounds which was entertaining. Impressive cliffs surround the bay.

    I think Cala San Vincente is quite different from most resorts in Mallorca and not to everyone’s taste….we booked the Don Pedro a few years back and it was very run down…..hopefully it’s been upgraded since then…..we ended up moving to Cala Vinas in the Calvia district…..which I think is on a different level….a stunning bay. Thanks for another interesting vlog Alex👍

    Watched your video and decided to visit from Alcudia. There were no toilets at all they had them but they were all locked up. A local shop owner told us to complain at the tourist information. Is this not what we pay tourist tax for, facilities??

    Okay - We returned from Majorca two weeks ago staying in Puerto Pollensa as we always do. For the very first time we feel let down by the process of licensing by local councils. Like it or not tourism is its main source of income on the island and lots depend on it from hire cars to restaurants and many other outlets. I have a feeling some may feel disappointed if its not sorted quickly. I mentioned in a previous post that we travel to PP each year for our anniversary and this is the first time the beds havent been on the beach in May. Also, we were really sad to learn that the family who run the Cal Patro restaurant in Cala San Vicente have left - only the chef remains...a sad loss. This will be interesting because we normally travel twice a year, next time being September and if things remain as confussed as they are right now we may need to reconsider 😞

      I really appreciate your opinion on this and it's very true. I've just commented on another comment, and I may not be correct here, but the livelihoods of the people in power don't depend on Tourism... different story for the rest of us though.

    @wideawakerealist2141 Před 2 měsíci +1

    It astonishes me that those issues with sunbeds/ beach umbrellas and licensing in general haven’t been resolved before high season on an island relying heavily on summer tourism, and the comfort and facilities for their visitors which will entice them to return. Personally, I am not a lounging on the beach person, and beautiful Majorca has much more to offer than that, , but still ….

    Hi Alex...can't understand why the authorities are making places less desirable to go to with beach bars going and lack of sunbeds....some people over here have said we just won't go there....surely tourism is the main source of income on the islands...why bite the hand that feeds you

    I fell in Love with Majorca 45 years ago after travelling around resorts and staying in many I finely settled wit Puerto Pollensa were we say its our spiritual home I have never been captured with the beauty of a place like PP and Majorca in general its undoubtedly the Pearl of the Med ,but the way the Island has and still is being run by inept local government ,to go in to a summer season and not to have any Imenaties on the beaches of some big a some small resorts and some half done is unforgivable to let red tape and in my opinion greed ruin holidays of people who are paying premium prices compered to other parts of Spain ,not building affordable housing for the indigenous population thus making it difficult to hire staff to work in the resorts and God knows were this tourist tax is being spent ,they are ruining this beautiful place and tourists will go elsewhere in the future if you cant even find a toilet on the beach ,they should be ashamed of themselves for thinking we can get away with anything because they cant stay away they Love it ,mmmmmm don't be to sure about that thers a breaking point for everyone so pull your fingers out and try harder plese
