Not that Turiya is saying this but just to think about; concrete isn't "bad" because it's modern, concrete may be expensive, resource intensive, or environmentally incomptaible for a project/location. Whereas using the areas abundance of dirt and mastering the mix can produce both a cost-effective and evironmentally sustainable method of building!
Yes, you are 100% correct, those are the primary reasons! As well as mold-producing/heat-producing in wet/warm climates
