- At the end of the Grinderman show at Slim's, Henry Rollins and Jello Biafra joined Nick Cave to sing "Deanna". I only had my little digital camera so the audio isn't that great, sorry! Live, July 27, 2007.

Im so glag you cought this. Nothing like seeing a henry rollins Story come to life.
Jello: "I don't know the song!" Henry: "Just say 'Deanna, oh Deanna' and then stand behind something solid because the bottles are going to fly."
Jello: "Okay!"
Jello is a God fuck you
Man, that's a direct quote, ya goof. Rollins told the story in his spoken word act. It's here on youtube somewhere.
Yeah it's so beautiful to see Henry and Jello on stage together. Has it ever happened before? Not since the early 80's, in that case.
It's a shame jello and rollins dont do more things togeather.
they're both hardcore punk antidrug faces.
and both insanly intelligent and have careers in spoken word.
I think they should make an album, or something, i dont know.
I must admit when I first heard the new album I wasn't so sure about this whole Nick Cave with a sense of humour thing, but after seeing him live I'm totally into it. He seems totally rejuvinated! I saw an excellent comment on here somewhere that's spot on. It was something like-"it's great that Nick can look so ridiculous and be obviously feeling so good about himself!" I think the 'tache must have some magic powers. Henry is looking very sweet, it's touching!
Imagine having Henry and Jello as lovely background singers for your band?!?!
;^}
That is awesome! Three of my favorites singing one of my favorite songs. That's rock n' roll heaven right there.
Very cool. Thanks for posting this.
henry rollins and nick cave on the same stage? pinch me i'm dreaming!!!
thanks a lot for sharing this...havent seen Henry so cute like ever...
lol,,love it,,,just saw henry talking about it too funny so i had to see it for myself,,,love it
Haha Rollins looks like I picture he would look as a teenager singing in a school play.
how unbelievably awesome is this?! oh thank you for posting this! all it needs is Hunter S. Thompson (alive preferrably) to make it the ultimate in guardo camino glory!
As Rollins said later, more fun to do than to listen to..
Where did you see this quote?
@@donkeypoopoo Search for "Henry Rollins - Provoked at Melbourne". It's in the third part near the middle of the video.
Saw Henry live in Dublin a few months back and he told the story behind this performance. He and Nick are still pretty tight. Thanks for posting, Nakoeth.
I was actually at this show at Slims in SF. I saw the show the night before at the Great American Music Hall and sat behind Rollins. I said "hello" to him so wasn't surprised in the least when I saw him the second night and get on stage. I really don't remember Jello though.
awesome! Henry talked about this when I saw him live.
what a great moment!

Brilliant! Henry and Jello look like giddy little boys.
Oh my goodness!
Classic
@LeLimeLine read his books. Nick Cave is an excellent writer!
Nice to see Hankenjello shake hands.
@damnatium there's a video where rollins explains that, he also said biafra didn't even know the words, which is clearly exhibited by his body language onstage as opposed to what he usually does :P
@hipppriest hahaha... love that comment! :) someone once said that the reason you don't see jello biafra and the dead kennedys on stage together any more is that jello ate the other dead kennedys... :)
An obstinate Henry and a dancing Biafra
fuckin nuts!! love it!!
I don't think it gets any better than this.. I'm sure that all the people at that gig can say "Ok, I can die now"
Rollins looks so uncomfortable there.
OH SURPRISE, YOU'RE PERFORMING ON STAGE TONIGHT!
Oh dear. XD
Well Jello's clearly having a good time despite not knowing the song! x
LOL!
@inglesidecatamaran Yup, from Provoked.
:)
I had the opportunity to question Henry Rollins and I asked him a few questions regarding Nick Cave and this incident specifically. In a little under 10 minutes Henry gives a funny, informative and heartwarming answer with rapid fire delivery as one would expect.

They should've played this song on Star Trek: The Next Generation every time Counselor Troi came onto the screen! LOL
Do you remember the name of it?
@buokopter
LOL.. good ol Jello
@BillHicks420 haha...That's how I got to this vid
Haha. I love the adoring looks Henry and Nick share. . .Henry looks like he's going to explode with glee. Can't see (or hear!) much of Jello though. :( Aw.
@straightedge442 i think he's the one behind the bassist. lol
hilarious to see hank looking like a fanboy :)
so bad yet so good.
@drbrandovalentine NO NO NO... it's more like SIX.

his name is henry.
Does anybody wanna tell this guy what Hank is short for, or...?
Хуясе!! Дабл лайк!
@reconelement He doesn't look comfortable on stage with his shirt on and his mic in its stand.
Yeah hahahaha and you can see Jello trying to sing good...because he doesn´t knew the entire lyric hahahaha PRICELESS !!!
Henry and Jello should be spanked for not knowing the words to this song....I will do it! My real given name is Deanna, you bad bad bad bad bad bad bad little boys :)
Fanboy strikes again
